She lives in a forest behind my home..) I recently started my organic gardening in the terrace and I found her visiting my garden twice. I thought they are shy birds but she is very friendly. She is amazing..)
On the internet I looked up if Barn owls Live in New Zealand and it said that Barn owls Live in New Zealand I was so happy because I love Barn owls they are beautiful birds
The Barn Owl has one of the largest distributions of all the owls. It can be found right across America, South America, most of Africa, Europe, Australia and India too. However where they are exactly, depends on habitat availability.

I live in Treherbert in south wales just down the road from me is a place called treorchy where there are barn owls that nest in a second hand furniture shop called two good to waste they have set an owl camera so you can see the baby owls it's in a small village area close to houses and shops and the mountains ..which I find fantastic to see them on the tv screen in the shop ..
How wonderful to see - and how unusual - I don't think we've heard of owls nesting in a furniture shop before! If you'd like to record the owls on our survey site, you can do that here: www.barnowlsurvey.org.uk
Hi my name is paul I live in Treherbert in south wales I've just heard you say barn owls don't live near mountains a mile and a half from me is a village called treorchy in Treorchy there is a second hand furniture store called 2 good to waste in the roof of there shop they have a pair of breeding barn owls and the shop is close to the main road and housing area plus very close to the mountains where they regularly hunt for there prey
That's great to hear! It's true that Barn Owls don't usually live in upland areas, but the owls must be finding enough food around your area. If you'd like to record the owls on our survey site, you can do that here: www.barnowlsurvey.org.uk
Yes, the Barn Owl has one of the largest distributions of all the owls. It can be found right across America, South America, most of Africa, Europe, Australia and India too. However where they are exactly, depends on habitat availability. We have very few of them in Britain partly because of habitat loss and farming techniques, but also deaths on major roads and rodenticides have an effect on the population level.
@Dani9HD The Barn Owl Trust is a small charity based in Devon in the South West UK. Have a look at our website for lots more information about our work with Barn Owls.
Hi BarnOwlLover32 - You might be interested to listen to the different owl sounds on the Barn Owl Trust website: Go to Information & Downloads -> Audio and video directory -> Owl sounds Enjoy!
We are based in the UK - you would need to talk to local wildlife and bird experts to find out where owls live near to you. Please make sure you never disturb nesting owls.
Volunteer or go to work for a wildlife re-habber, rescue/release organization doing Raptor conservancy. If you are fortunate, a barn owl might come in to the center that can't be released back to the wild for any number of reasons. You need a license to care for a barn owl, and they are not pets. The coolest thing to do is develop a bond with your bird and do educational visits at elementary and middle/high schools. Connecting new generations to the natural world good stuff.
We don't recommend keeping owls in captivity - they are noisy, messy and often aggressive. Best to spend time watching their natural behaviour in the wild. Talk to a local wildlife conservation group to find out more about owls in your area.
Olá - adoraríamos traduzir para outros idiomas, mas somos uma instituição de caridade muito pequena no Reino Unido e simplesmente não temos recursos. :(
