What a great video packed full of information!! I need to go back and watch it again to digest it all. Thank you for always pointing us back to the Creator!!
I'm making a food plot this year it was supposed to be planted by now but things happened to where it's not but we're going to be planting it pretty soon and I was looking around where I'm putting it I found out there's about 15 white oak trees and a few Red Oaks all around the food plot so I'm hoping that it's a good spot for season
Nicely 👍presented Dr.Grant . I’ve always had an affection with oaks. In eastern Massachusetts we don’t have a change too noticeable in elevation but temp in April requires addressing.. You make note very emphatically the nuances of 🦌 deer hunting. Our love of the hunt certainly pertaining to the majority of us gives us a leg up with knowledge.. You can never have enough.. It’s rewarding to know that on any given day afield to have that gut feeling of where to go hunt and why . You’re done your part ,,will your 🦌 do his ? Hope so and Thank you 🙏🏿!!
I love the mention of Gods intelligent design. It’s encouraging to see you as a believer be outspoken about a point of Christianity that most believers are willing to let lay by the wayside.
Experiencing drought here in Kentucky. People's yards are turning brown. Soybeans are way behind in normal height for this time of year. As soon as acorns hit the ground last Fall, bucks totally flipped their habits and several disappeared off trail cam I watched all summer long in velvet. Several bucks never showed back up out of velvet last Fall, only to return this summer back on trail cam. Amazing how some of them disappear and survive gun season when you think most of them are dead.
Mississippi state university has done a lot of research on deer home ranges and shifting home ranges from summer to winter. It’s pretty amazing stuff, one deer travels I believe it was 17 miles every year to his other home range. Wish I could remember the title of the series but it shouldn’t be too hard to look up. There were many videos all under 10 min if my memory is right.
@@GrowingDeerTV Yes, and they evidently retreat to where they are not huntable or most of them WOULD be dead. Guessing they retreat to parks or tracts of land that don't allow hunting.
Can you do a more detailed video explaining deer movement and finding public land like what ridges are brows how you know you found good habitat im new
I love to hear hunters and fishermen say “thank you Jesus”. My dad is in his 80s but growing up I could remember hearing him say thank you Lord everyone he caught a fish or harvested a deer.
@@GrowingDeerTV im in harrison just south of you. Any tips on how to get on bucks? I can only seem to find the doe trails. If theres some way to talk to you about the area i hunt
I have been trying to hunt over acorns for a year or two now and All we have is red oaks. I live in southern nb canada and we have alot of clear cuts and the odd red oak here and there. Most people here bait for deer with apples/corn. When do you guys find the deer like to get on the acorns?
They usually get on the acorns as soon as they drop. They might prefer some over others but it’s instinct for them to eat acorns heavy before winter sets in. The only time I think it’s hard to tell is when there’s a lot of oak trees and the deer are scattered out eating.
