Appreciate this variety of content. Never sell out/ annoying intros.(although I do get it) but sometimes simple is more. Keep it up thank you for your time
This is just for NH KH and KDH... so many more spots down south... so many. Plus ORV ocean and sound side, these few spots barely gets through a coat of paint in relation to the possibilities in OBX. Also, don't be afraid to ask the boat docks if you're allowed to fish there, the absolute worst to happen is a No if you ask ahead, and there's many that will allow it.
Thank you for this video. You brought back a part of my childhood. My family and I used to go to the Outer Banks in the 70s and early 80s. The area, of course, has changed drastically. We used to fish the "catwalk" all the time along with that rocky area you showed by the catwalk. It was a huge, long sand flat that we used to catch flounder. The Coast Guard station used to be a little farther around there. I plan to make a trip out there this year while its still warm, and to Hatteras later this winter. Again, thank you.
You're welcome. I grew up on the obx in the 80's and 90's. Spent a good deal of my youth crawling all over the catwalk chasing sheepshead. It's changed a lot but still beautiful and still a lot of fish around. Thanks for the comment.
@haltysalty7537 I'm trying to plan a trip out there this fall. Would love to set up and camp out for a week. Funny thing is an old friend of mine sent me an ad for camping at Ocracoke.
Hello from the state of Ohio. Family and I will be down next year the second week in June. We are staying at the outer banks KOA campground. Thank you for the video.
Great tips! My son and I have fished and crabbed on little bridge and under big bridge, but have never visited the other two. We will be checking them out.
I AM A NC NATIVE AND HAVE FISHED HATTERAS FOR MANY YEARS AND NEVER KNEW ABOUT THESE SPOTS; THANKS FOR SHARING; I LIKED AND SUBBED YOUR CHANNEL. THANKS AGAIN!
I have fished that spot for years… I’ll go several years and forget about it and go there again. I can get skunked there pretty good but by the same token, I’ve caught some pretty nice smaller striper, and puppy drum there even hooked up a big seagull, one time, got my line wrapped around his wing, entertain to the crowd as I crawl down on one of the lower landings and cut the line from around his wing that sucker kept trying to reach around and bite me. That’s a good suggestion. I’m heading down there end of September for four days or staying on the west side of the island of manteo. we’re right on a little creek about 50 yards goes right into the sound literally sit on back chairs and fish and crab. Maybe my most favorite place I ever stayed over the last 45 years.
I been going to this area for a long time but I didn't know about the last pier, I heard about a spot over their some where.I was riding around looking but I didn't go that far. We never use that bridge any more. I take care of a house in Avon, but when we come with our hold family the house in Avon is not big enough, so we try to get a house in southern nags head. I'm a man that looks for different places so thank you.
I lived in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head years ago. We would catch blue crabs over on the sound side with chicken necks tied to a string. Free dinner when you're poor!
@@charliedillon1400 spent much of my childhood doing the same, and then with my daughters. Good cheap fun with a meal to boot! Thanks for checking out the video.
You bet, January's a tough month fishing wise but if the weather is fair they'll be fishing the little bridge. Surf fishing can be decent too. Check in at TWs tackle shop in kitty hawk, they'll let you know what's biting.
I just came back from a fishing trip at Nags Head. Fiahing all round wasnt that great. Wish I would have seen this beforehand 😂 will definitely try these spots next time
Thanks Mike. Yes, that would be a nonresident saltwater fishing license. Can be purchased online. I believe they have a one day and also a 7 day option. Good question!
@@haltysalty7537 either way, great video! Loads of crabs by the bonnet bridge. I’m just excited to join y’all down there permanently! Not obx, rather the Swansboro area. Thanks for all your great videos!
Crabing No. Fishing yes. Stop into a local tackle shop to purchase, or order a liscense online at www.ncwildlife.org/Licensing/Hunting-Fishing-Trapping-Licenses/Coastal-Recreational-Fishing-License
