You are doing a great job Nick. I have watched many ex-pat video's, and you are one of my top 3 favorites. Congratulations on 10k subscribers!!! I'm excited to see more of the eastern Algarve.
@@AlgarveAddicts Expats Everywhere and Nicki Positano. I have watched many others, but I don't stick with them because they get political, or are not down to earth, etc. I also like American in Portugal.
Congrats on your 10 000 subs. Awesome intro , the visuals and music are beautiful. Sorry to hear your drone is no more. Fabulous informative video, thanks Nick.
Thanks for doing these videos, Nick. We moved to Portugal 1.5 months ago and are renting in Sítio now and traveling around to see where we will rent/or buy next. Your videos are really helpful.
Hi, in case you haven't tried, you may be able to get a warranty replacement for your drone. Another group I follow had their drone suddenly go crazy and crash into a tree top. The drone company was able to access the last moments of the flight and determined that it was caused by a hardware/software defect. Their drone was replaced without charge.
Nice job Nick! I love the modern new apartments. Hard to believe the bathroom is so small. But it's cool place. I'd like a place like that but close access to an old traditional town.
Really enjoyed this video as we are moving to the Moncarapacho/Fuseta area in just about 10 days! We are renting to start. Glad to hear such a positive review of my new adopted homeland.
Hello Nick, great job with your videos. Very educational & informative. Please state the titles of your awesome musical interludes. You’re one of my top 3 presenters and experts on ALL things PORTUGAL.
Nick, Another great presentation! Can’t wait to see your take on Cabanes. We were just there for 5 days and loved that place. We drove to Seville in 2 hrs!
Stunning places in Eastern Algarve, so are the Westerns'! It's really hard to pick one out. I'll be moving to Porgugal in 2025, so I'd like to thank you so much for helping us to get to know a lot more about Algarve. Cheers from Brazil.
I so appreciate this information about the East Algarve! I hope to visit there in Fall, 2022 for my initial trip to Portugal. Your videos have been very helpful for this future ex-Pat dreamer! Portugal looks amazing!! Video idea: I live in Nashville and would love a know more about the various music scenes in Portugal. Bless you, Nick!
Hi Theresa, thanks for watching 👍🏼 I've been thinking about that and how to cover the local music scene, as I used to follow a lot of local bands around here back in the day. Good video idea!
Great video! I appreciate your analysis and real estate focus. FYI I was subscribed before and just realized I wasn’t subscribed now! That explains why your videos haven’t been in my feed lately. I have heard content creators say some people become unsubscribed due to a glitch in the system or whatever. A belated congrats on 10k subs! 🤙
Congratulations all the way from California for your 10k subscribers! Love your content, information, shortish and production. We hope to get there soon! Thank you!
Thanks Gregory! It's really exciting watching the channel grow and I was trying to figure out how to fit all the great content that I had into this video when I decided to end it at about 14 mins this morning. I think it's important to keep them relatively short.
Hey Nick. Awesome video. We are now in Portugal, arrived on Sunday, and are now just going through our 14 day quarantine required for coming from South Africa. So excited!!
Between Google Earth and your drone stuff at the beginning the drone is worth its weight in gold. That was as good of a description of an area I've ever seen. Actually great advertisement for DJI and hopefully they cover some or all of your losses. Maybe sending them the footage to show them the drone in action. I hope 🤔 10K is just the beginning. GL from Vancouver. Might B there in Autumn.
Thanks for the info. Myself and my partner are looking into relocating to Portugal from Cape Town. We're starting to do our research and will hopefully be there in the next 2 years. Definitely going to keep an eye on your channel 😁
Nicely done informative video. Sad about the drone,, but oh my, a tragedy is certainly relative. I thought that you had an accident and several people died.
Hi Nick, we really enjoy your informative show. My husband and I will be in Portugal next month. We would like to meet with you for a coffee/tea. Please let me know. Thanks!
Thanks! Just about everyone can speak some basic English (but it's polite to learn a little :) ) Naturally you'll be fine in all the tourist towns like Lagos, Albufeira Vilamoura and Tavira.
I'm coming to Eastern Algarve in late September / early October. Gonna swtau in Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António. + explore in between. You already know my dislike of Albufeira hehe, looking for the opposite
Hi Nick great videos. Small idea, just last week was discussing drones over water. Turns out attaching empty water bottles to under them means they don't sink should they hit the drink
Wow, interesting idea. However if it had even been over land it probably would have crashed so hard it would have broken. It turns out that a propeller had come off... Scary stuff.
Hi, great stuff but I wondered why your Eastern Algarve stops just at the end of the barrier islands? I haved lived in Altura for 2 years now. Yes I know it's mad busy in the summer but I can walk directly onto the beach which I do every day. In Cabanas e.g. the small boats to the islands (I think) don't run in the winter. Big deal IMO.
@@AlgarveAddicts Yes, definetely! I know the Algarve region very well. Next year I will finally move to Portugal. I can't stand german winters any longer, especially the darkness. Could you recommend me an english or german speaking lawyer in the Algarve? Do you also work as a real estate agent?
I don't work as a real estate agent but I know people who do. I have a lawyer for you. Subscribe to my email list on www.algarveaddicts.com and you'll get all the answers.
Hi Cathy, they'll be a bit cheaper than the west but it's all about availability. Not much available. Email me if you're looking for one, I know some people.
Hi Nick, I enjoy all your videos and growing more and more excited about it, can you tell me if there's association fees when you own apartment or condos?
Hi Corina, thanks so much for watching, yes when you move into a building there are almost always condominium fees and really boring condominium meetings :)
Yeah very nice intro, the best part. Portugal's south coast looks like it's on the way to becoming paved with apartment blocks that few Portuguese can afford.
Yes, possibly, however coastlines are naturally becoming the most expensive and sought after part of any country. The further away you are, the cheaper the property. It's true for anywhere...
Hi Nick! Great vid, as always! The rental apartment your friend was in, how much (approximately, at the time) was it? It is helpful to gage real time prices with actual properties. I realize you can't always do that but here is a good example when it may be possible.... Obrigada!
Hi M, sorry it was ages ago when we did that video. If you'd like some help with rentals we may be able to help you out --> www.algarveaddicts.com/contact
Nick, my brother and I are coming to Portugal in late August to look at properties and different areas of Portugal. We'd like to find a property that needs updating that we can flip. Is this something that you could help us with?
For sure, the best way is to fill in this form www.algarveaddicts.com/home and Keely will get in touch. She'll be able to help you find a property hopefully.
I think the good explorative video on Eastern Algarve was a Fantastic idea. But when you lost your drone it messed up the video, you kind of lost a drive and train of thought there. Is it possible to remake it and include Cacela Velha and Villa Nova (or do a video of those 2)?
Good day I hope you are well, thanks so much for the information you provide to all of your followers Thanks much , I am hoping to retire to Vilamoura, my wife is a EU citizen I am not, but it is my understanding that we can retire to Portugal our budget for rent is between 2000/2500 Euros but of course we would prefer to be at the lower end of our budget, we are hoping not to need a car which allows for the hire end of our budget, but we must be in a location where we can walk, ride a bike, and rent the car if needed, of course the beach plays a vital role in our plans along with the weather, we may think down the road to purchase , I have two question I hope you can help us first is our budget practical for Vilamoura, we tend to like areas that are a bit organize, our second question is if not Vilamoura, what you advise we are open to suggestions feel free to be candid thanks so much G
Hi G, yes I think you could live pretty well on that budget in Vilamoura. Have a look around www.idealista.pt/en for an idea of prices and then contact me through my website www.algarveaddicts.com when you're ready to do some more detailed planning. Good luck!
You sure can. Most of the fishing tours I've seen have left from Vilamoura or Albufeira. If you want to go from the eastern Algarve go and nose around the fishing boats. I'm sure some old fisherman will take you. If you get stuck I'll come and do it with you as long as I can film it. Could be fun :)
I'm looking for a rural area not far from the sea or private hospitals as I have a very elderly family. I feel sad that the quality of the larger homes are not as good as in let's say Marbella or Cannes. I wonder if we should buy land and build our own home...we're coming from the UAE.
Hi there, I'd suggest you have a chat with Keely. She's extremely helpful, fill in this form www.algarveaddicts.com/home and she'll get back to you next week.
Hi Caren, not as far as I know, but you'll definitely have to present a COVID test which is less than 72 hours old. The best is to check with your Portuguese embassy website.
We hope to be somewhere in the eastern Algarve in 2 to 3 years... or it could be Lagos 😂 So we will keep watching hopefully make it to one of your 'meetups'. We're also known as @plantogo_portugal on Instagram. Still lots of exploring to do once Covid allows it.
Apparently not, but it's changing all the time. I'm a bit confused to be honest, the US / Portuguese embassy says you can come but apparently some people are being turned away at the airports. Other websites say you can't come. I'd love to know what's going on.
Great Video Bud!! Is it possible to own a rustic land parcel (2-4 Hectares) in Algarve region (Lagos, portimao, etc) and turn it into a vineyard ? Lastly, what other places in portugal would you suggest for buying "Cheap" land to turn into vineyard?
