What is buyback?
Buyback is the ability given to the consumer to sell the product back to the company from which they originally purchased it. If you are looking to sell your gold or silver coins but don't want to visit the jeweler then the best thing is to contact the company and take full benefit of the buyback process. The buyback guarantee is different for all the companies hence I ask you to check with the customer service before finalizing.

I called up KUNDAN few days back for details on their buyback policy in chennai, coz they have only jewel shop here n not their own store. They asked me to give them a call and the time of selling, n they will say which jewel shop i can go n avail my buyback. I asked this for silver, n i think it should applicable for gold too. However I haven't personally sold anything yet, this is what their costumer care person told me.

Hello Ahmed, I am very happy you were able to share this with me. Certainly for people where they don’t have a store we can only experiment. But this goes for other brands which have retail stores in any state as well. All I guess we shall explore.

@@IndianBullionaire yeaa, Good thing with Kundan is they have lots of dealers in other jewel stores where they couldn't set up their own store. But still there is no 100% they will accept thry same buyback policy as KUNDAN website. Also other companies like MMTC PAMP or BRPL don't have this option in other cities. Yes it's all experimental. Fingers crossed. 🤞

Very useful and informative videos Varun. I had a question about sellers of tamper proof coins and bars. These are all respected companies, I fully accept that and totally understand why they're selling gold in tamper proof packing. I also get why they will accept it back in non-broken tamper proof seal. But have you ever opened the packing and actually seen the coin/bar (say MMTC)? Have you got it tested by a good jeweler with their Karat tester, perhaps after melting? I happened to exchange old gold for new a few years ago at a very renowned jeweler. Now, my old gold showed 22 karat on their tester. But when he melted it, there were many impurities in it. While it wasn't exactly a gold plated jewellery with pure gold outside and rubbish inside, it had a lot of impurities, which we only came to know after they melted it. The weight too came down drastically (in gold weight terms). So, my question is, apart from the brand and the certificate etc., have you ever done a no-holds-barred test on the quality of any of these products? If so, would you consider covering it in a future video? Thanks again for your informative videos Varun.

Thanks for commenting, I haven’t done the testing part yet but had sold off bullion in the past and I know people in my circle who buy and sell these certicard bullion pretty often. Infact as my subscribers also report to me at times so I was told so far didn’t encounter purity issue. There was one case that I have to investigate on my own and then disclose the details but I got super busy and couldn’t visit a purity centre. I had it mind to randomly take some brands but smaller denomination so I can test them. For brand like MMTC I am 101% We would never get any discrepancies either in weight or purity. Jewellery has this issue where while jewellers tell you that you are getting 22K jewellery but they end up melting and mixing other metals because the composition ends up wrong (miscalculation) So I am not surprised while we talk about jewellery since I have heard a lot of people who message me with this issue. For bullion there’s a slim chance of this but I absolutely get your query and once it is safe to step outside explore, I will be on my feet to get this done. Thanks for this comment 😊

Coin Bazaar seems decent as they offer multiple brands.. But courier could be an issue.. Personal choice would be to visit a jeweller.. Will await your next video though to get that piece from you..

I support your conclusive comment.that the buyback policy of the brands u covered in this video isn't very attractive. As a matter of fact I have been comparing the selling price of MMTC PAMP with reputed jewellers and find the jewellers to be selling it at a lower price.in addition when we buy coins from jewellers, some of them even offer us some kind of small discounts, which makes it buying from the jewellers a better option. Another fact is reputed jewellers offer buyback only for their own brand and make some deductions, even if the gold is hallmarked and is of some other brand.so I feel it's a better option to buy from a reputed jeweller vis a vis the brands you have mentioned.

Hard asset hai Gold, carry karlo and immediate liquid bhi kar sakte. Technical reason ke wajah se digital gold wallet mai fass jaye ya wallet issue aa jaye toh problem ho sakti hai. Gold coins/bars investment ke liye hain warna insaan jewellery lega agar packaging mai rakhna jamta nahi

Please answer. I want to gift 10gm Gold. But can you tell if gifting a 10gm coin would be a better idea or gifting a 10gm gold chain ? My purpose he should be able to liquidate it in future years. I heard gold coins are not accepted by banks to cash out or by jewellery shops if we want to exchange coins for jewellery.

It depends, who are you gifting it to? If someone does not like the design of the chain then it becomes the issue, if you want them to sell the coin in future then make jewellery then you can gift them coin. Get them coin if you want them to liquidate, chain does not give good return due to high making charge. Gold coins are accepted by jewellers for exchange. banks do not cash out for coins or jewellery.

Casted Bars are cheaper than Minted Ingot bars.

It is pure but the finishing of casted is less than minted. Casted are great for investment because price is a bit lower as compared to minted. Minted ones look great but expensive.
