Yes! Too tight often happens for me more than too large. One tip with that is to always wear what you'll have under the armour while matching it to your body
I think that taking high quality 3D scans of museum pieces would be a great addition to the toolset if someone could get them. Or even for existing amourers to take 3D scans of their own work and put them on an shared online repository. Being able to have a high quality scan of the piece means that any armourer could use a 3D printer to build a physical item to reference/measure directly while building.
This is a brilliant observation. In actual fact there is right now a move to start scanning in 3d museum pieces. As to scanning our own pieces, I think this is absolutely something IronCrown Workshop will be looking at doing with our pieces in the near future
Amazing video. Very interesting and very informational video this week boys. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friends. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
hello! i'm coming from a knife/sword smithing background and i'm very interested in starting to make armor for historical reenactment and my own personal hema kit. what would you recommend i start with?
So me (a 12 year old) and my father want to start forging armor and weapons. If it means something we live in Romania. Have you got any other tips? Also, I got the idea to start with buying some chainmail armor to get the idea of how armor works, is that a good idea?
This is such a cool moment for me. I was about 12 when I started making armour. 1. It's absolutely awesome you want to make armour and weapons and you 100% can! It's a journey sometimes but if you pursue it you can make it a reality! 2. Buying some chainmail is a great way to get started understanding how armour works and feels. If you are buying I would get riveted maille since it's "real" chainmail. But even if you were to try making some butted maille that would go a long way to teaching you how maille works. On fact that's exactly how I got started! 3. As to making plate armour you can get started by buying some mild steel sheet material and making g some basic projects like spaulders, a great helm or something like that. Contact us via instagram and I might even be able to help with that. Forge on my friend!
Depending on quality and artisan from $8000 to $35000+ Again depends on time, extent of coverage, intended usage and armoury/armourer. For custom orders contact us via Facebook or Instagram
