I enjoyed the video and went on your channel to see if you made the video showing different activities to do on a 3 day trip to the Amalfi Coast.. hopefully one day? My wife and I are going in late Sept. How do you feel about the town of Praiano?
Hi David, thanks for your feedback. Really appreciated. The video it's on my plan for next visit. Looking forward to it by the way. However, I wrote a post about it (mel365.com/3-days-in-amalfi-coast/) with 4 options for a 3-days itinerary, with morning and afternoon activities. I hope it will help you to decide what to do. Cheers
We are looking to rent scooters one day. What area is safest to do that with low traffic, but still a beautiful drive? Maybe stop at a winery? Would that be Ravello?
It's always hard to define safe. I personally felt safe driving a motorbike there. Never had an issue. Pay attention to the busses, especially between Sorrento and Positano. They rent to suddenly appear, that's because the view is so magic that we are distracted LOL. Ravello is one of the best and safest areas. It's not on the coast but it offers so many viewpoints. Magical. Enjoy your trip!!
You won't be on the coast but you may have a fantastic view based on the accommodation you are going for. The Path of the Gods starts from Bomerano, one of the villages in the Agerola area. If driving there then it could be a good solution also because parking is not as bad as in the other coastal towns. Otherwise, you may feel a bit isolated and too reliable on public transportation.
@@StefanoFerro Thank you for responding. The hotels in the coast are expensive and not within my budget. I am planning to stay the first 2 nights in Ravello and the last 2 nights in Agerola. I have already booked my hotels and found good deals based on my budget and preferences. I am planning to do my commute by Bus. I understand the bus journeys can take some time but I am hoping it would be worth it since it is much cheaper than taxis and also I prefer not to drive. I can cancel Capri or Furore to make the itinerary more manageable if necessary. How does the following itinerary sound? April 30 - Arrive in Ravello. Check out the Villas in the afternoon/evening. May 1 - Visit Amalfi and if possible Furore May 2 - Take the bus from Ravelllo and Check into another hotel at Agerola and then take the bus again to visit Positano and back to Agerola May 3 - Visit Capri or Positano (if May 2 ends being hectic and we don't make it to Positano). May 4 - Take the SITA Bus 5080 from Agerola to Naples. I would appreciate your opinion
Totally understandable and yes, the Amalfi Coast has become really expensive. Great plan @@pmc89 I would visit more Positano than Capri, but that's just my preference. Enjoy your trip
Your information is just fabulous and the manner which you relay your experience is such a gift to those of us who are planning a first time trip. thank you~
Thanks for your generous tips! I was going to stay in Naples for two nights with my teenager after arriving from Roma (4 nights) by train in early August. So now I made one night only for Naples and reserve the 2nd night and day for Amalfi or Positano; but I am having a hard time to decide which one to choose: Amalfi or Positano!:) NO car. What would you suggest? How do we get to either Amalfi or Positano if we stay one night in ATRANI as mentioned in your viedo? After that one nite in Atrani/Amalfi/Postani, the next morning we have to take train back to Rome and fly back later pm to Heathrow and back to SFO/US the next morning. Thank you!!
Hi thinking about coming to Italy I like look amazing coast what hotel would you reccomed I stay 3 night then move on some were else I know it expensive xx
You provide Really useful information, thank you. I have a question about transport around Amalfi coast. Everyone don't recommend using a car there, so I wander how is the public transport in that area ? I probably will stay in Sorrento and go from there through the coast. If I want to stay let's say in Positano for a little longer at night, for example 22:00-23:00 hour is there a public transport that late with witch I can return to Sorrento ?
No worries. You can read all about getting around, including links to the most up to date timetables here mel365.com/getting-around-the-amalfi-coast/ Enjoy the Amalfi coast
No worries. Take the direct SITA bus to Sorrento and bus or ferry from there. There are other options here from the Airport mel365.com/getting-around-the-amalfi-coast/
