You did a great job, I love this song! Really looking forward to what other masterpieces you and Joel Baylis have created in the final version of the game next year
I was streaming the game, this song came on and I just stopped playing, closed my eyes and just fell into a trance. Such a fantastic song and now I’m glad I can listen to it anywhere. Thank you and Joel for making such a perfect song.
@@AsuraOmnis Music that makes you feel like this is always the goal when making it, thank you so much for the kind words. Can’t wait for you to hear the rest of the soundtrack!
not gonna lie this hit me like a truck, like once the lyrics kicked on i was like wait, this game full on has lyrics for the cafe? or is this the whole town? WAIT IS THE WHOLE GAME LIKE THIS, IS THERE MORE LYRICAL SONGS, THIS SOUNDS GOOD! BLESS INDIE GAMES MADE WITH LOVE!
I didn't expect lyrics in a game like this and honestly this song has blown me away I sat there just listening it through for an hour. It feels nostalgic but in a sort of sad way.
there is a german word for that feeling, its not exactly how you worded it but it is pretty close, Sehnsucht. As for english, the closest thing I could think of is Melancholy
Btw. the lyrics: Do you feel it The lack of wind but abundance of air We’re all in the same ship Floating somewhere without any aim But at least we’re together As we tether and link our arms as we think That there’s no getting out here I don’t know you but we’ll make the most of Whereever we are now Slow floating under the stars now It’s okay to be uncertain, cause I’m certain it’s fine To be floating here for a while With you, wherever we are now We’re not dead suspended in a place of hush, not upset Just puzzled by the sense of bemusement It’s amusing losing all of our direction, now we’re lost tell me which way you wanna go Tell me how far you’re thinking and I swear if you wanna go I’ll be right there by your side And honestly it can go Either way but I think I’m alright With the chance that we might end up Right back here Whereever we are now Slow floating under the stars now It’s okay to be uncertain, cause I’m certain it’s fine To be floating here for a while With you, wherever we are now Thanks to Joel Baylis himself for providing them like 10 days back :D Love it ^^
"It's ok to be uncertain because I'm certain it's fine" is the most wholesome/feel good thing I heard in a while in a song. This game and its OST are such a mood ! Thanks again for this Joel and Shelby !
Y'all remember playing a Pokemon game, and getting so fixed on a pretty musical track that you just sat there, listening without playing for a good while? Never did I think a game could ever recreate that feeling for me. What an absolute delight 🧡
As someone who feels lost and aimless in life, this song touches me deeply. Most of the times I listen to it I get teary eyed, specially when I'm feeling down. Thank you for composing this beautiful song! Not just this one, but this entire game's OST is a true masterpiece. Without a doubt one of the very best monster collecting RPG out there, and the music is one of the biggest reasons for that.
I never thought it would be possible to feel nostalgic for a song I never heard. I played the demo and I was already interested in the game but if the soundtrack is even half the quality of this song then that alone is worth the cost of admission.
I downloaded Cassette Beasts from GamePass. the second you get to the first town and this song played, It made me think so much. I felt a deep nostalgia for staying up late playing pokemon games on my gameboy as a kid when I should have been sleeping for school in the morning. But also it feels melodically more mature than those memories. Almost like the game is as old as I am (33) and is reassuring me that everything is ok. its ok to "get lost here for a while now". Beautifully dreamy and catchy. The way the drums come out of half time at around 2:30 and hit the toms is such a nice build up to the final chorus. Thank you for making me feel so much in just under 4 minutes. Also helps the game is fantastic too ^_^
Emotional stability was bad enough. I will listen to this in the car and just start bawling. Love every second of it. Thank you for making me feel again.
So far my favourite Track of Cassette Beasts - and this version is so much clearer, crisper, "bassier" and oh so more lovable than in the demo ^^ said it before, will say it again: the song matches the scene in the game so damn well, I'm a bit in love :D
If we don't get a cassette release of this OST, it'll be a crime against the very nature of the game. This game fills the very hole in me that so many others have left after years and years, and the music is such a HUGE part of that.
I have to say that "a lack of wind but abundance of air" is a wonderful line that works perfectly to set the feeling of where this appears in the demo. Lyrics in the song surprised me, but after a bit to get used to it I have to say it works very well.
Its Sad This Game Got Brushed Of As Another Monster Catcher Game. It Really Isn't, And I'm Happy I Tried This Game. The Music And Vocals Are Immaculate! Who Knew A Cassette Related Game Could Have Good Music? ❤ This Song Was Incredible, And The Fact You Hear This Song With Kayley, Who IMO Has Like, A REALLY Sad Backstory!! This Game Is A Hidden Gem, And Shelby Is An INCREDIBLE SINGER. 😄
Yeah for sure. Like yes it is a pokemon-esk game, but its really a more character & story-driven single player game than pokemon has ever been. I feel like pokemon excels when its pvp so this game has a different appeal.
This song was what made me fall in love with the demo, and I'm glad I finally found it. Really can't wait for the rest of the game and the rest of the music.
Just bought this game on a whim a few hours ago and it's great, I had no expectations going in but wow I love it so much already. Been going through a rough part of my life, but this song genuinely felt like it's helped me stop and think. Thank you
Started playing Cassette Beasts... Ended up chilling in the first house for 20 minutes longer than I needed thanks to this track. It's hauntingly beautiful, and somehow feels nostalgic to something I never experienced. I really hope the game has other tracks like this, top tier!
I just came back here after playing through Lenna's Inception readying myself for Cassette Beasts and i gotta say, you do such an incredible job with both soundtracks!
This song and the gravity of its lyrics in tandem to the plot of the game are Masterfully done and woven together, so excited to see the future of this game
All of your music is bangers how. But for real, these two songs are both amazing. I still have the Showdown theme from Lenna's Inception in my main music playlist. Keep on producing this fantastic music.
Me listening to Pat Stares At sell this game on the Castle Super Beast podcast like crazy: Okay, I'll give it a try. Me walking into town: Man, this game has some great music. Me inside a building with sudden lyrics layered on top of it: *IT'S SO BEAUTIFULLY MELANCHOLIC, IT MAKES ME WANNA CRY AND I'VE ONLY BEEN PLAYING FOR TEN MINUTES.*
This song hits in such a powerful way. The peace it inspires is so comforting. This song has been with me through one of the biggest changes of my life and I am eternally grateful. This sing kept me sane and let me keep going. Thank you.
Nose qué tiene esta canción, me dan vibes de "Outer Wilds" cuando lo instale antes de saber que sería una joya solo por la canción del Menú. Este juego será poco conocido quizás pero la aventura valdrá la pena.
Just got gifted this game for Christmas and I never felt more certain I was going to love a game as soon as a got to Harbourtown. I love that the lyrics kick in when you enter a building.
I was just singing this in the hallway at work and co-worker said that I have a nice singing voice and I stay on key and I'm a guy I just like singing when no one is around.
Was interested in this game when it was first announced I think a year ago for PC but had to wait for the console release. Just like how others have pointed out, I did not expect there to be lyrics in the first song. The melody, lyrics and vocals of the singer all combine to create something truly beautiful and mesmerizing. Haven't felt this way from a video game song since Beneath the Mask from Persona 5.
I'm certain it's fine to be floating here for a while 💫 I'll be floating here for a long while now. Thanks for making me feel something I thought I'd lost along the way. Dealing with my feels while I listen to this beautiful piece of music brb!!! 🧑💻
For some reason as soon as this song hit me for the first time I immediately had this beautiful sense of nostalgia. It reminded me of my first playthrough of Bastion and in the best way. It's such a great song.
I got this game a few days ago, and I've been listening to the vocal tracks nonstop. The instrumentals are great, but in game when the vocals kick in it's such a rush. This song in particular is one of my new favorite songs. The slow drums and relaxing beat give you this major sense of just drifting or floating while still being incredibly memorable. And the lyrics and the singer are top notch as well. I can't say for certain since I first heard it in game, but this would probably have been a song I listened to over and over even if I'd heard it unattached to anything else.
I recently picked up the game and I absolutely love it! This song is just amazing and to me, almost ethereal with it's tone and just so calming everytime I enter the cafe in Harbourtown. It's one of the best tracks ever in gaming.
As somebody stuck in relationship limbo rn, this song is literally perfect for how i feel, aaaaaa i love it so much and i literally just heard it just now in the game and its one of my favourite osts now
I think that the soundtrack for this game is fantastic. Every track, amazing. But this one in particular shows the one thing that makes the whole thing work so well and give the game the life it does. It's analogue. Nothing in this track sounds digitally made, and thats the case for a lot of the soundtrack. It really fits the vibe of game and the whole idea with the cassettes because the music itself feels like it's much older just due to the production. It's fantastic attention to detail, ans something that most people would probably never notice. But I love it. Fantastic work.
i love this song so much but something about the whole your trapped in an island dimension with dangerous monster but somehow persevering and making a home for yourself makes this so melancholic. It makes me sad but also introspective.
First time I properly sat down in Cafe Gramophone and gave this a listen I burst out crying. I have never had a single song drag so much feeling out of me Thank you lot, for the song, the game, and the memories
So, Same Old Story is fantastic and dug me deep into Cassette Beasts from the start. Amazing hook. But I just took a focused listen to this song and you *stabbed me in the feels*, how dare you. 101/10, keep dem bops coming!
I played the demo just recently after seeing the AD for it. definitely as amazing potential and will be a game i will be keeping my eye on. Although this freaking sound track dammit as soon as this song started i paused the demo just to listen to it from the game so good.
So I just finished the game, because I needed the point on xbox, it is a cross between Pokemon with an essences of Zelda, I have never come across a game with a killer ost, since Streets of Rage.
its a year on ... but i want to thank you for the music u made on casset beasts its such a joy to listen to and just lay back and relax .. thank you :) love from belgium :)
Idk If Video Game Awards have a Best Song/Soundtrack Category, but This Song Hits Different. In my millennium of gaming, this has to be One of The Best Video Game Songs I've Ever Heard! 🙌🙌 The whole OST is 🔥AF. The Game is Solid as well lol ... CB2 would be amazing!
I started the game before sleeping (those playing something 30 mins before sleeping with a steam deck) and damn does the OST caught me by surprised, such a beautiful track and it works perfectly for the game and it looks like there is more to come.
swear on everything i love playing this game high , the soundtrack just hits when your in the hometown .. kudos and appreciation to the artist n game company for a fire soundtrack.
Was in a pretty bad place when i picked up cassette beasts. Just hanging out at the town bar hearing that soothing voice, made me stay in the building for much longer than needed, as we all know, the lyrics cut when you leave the buildings
I've come to the end of my go at Starfield for a while tonight. I ended up just walking around, trying to sort out my mixed feelings of the game, all while I had this song on repeat for a few hours. Strangely fitting song.
