no its only crisper but when if you want a good sound you have to mount the fmf pipe and pro circuit silencer that was sounding way more louder but everyone has his opinion :p
I run the full system Pro-Circuit, with R304 shorty and absolutely love it on my 03 Yz250, sounds amazing and rips all around. Mines set up for trails with either a 54 or 56 tooth on the rear, itll out run a 450 to 70mph!
You need to change carb settings for different pipes etc too, don't use pipe just for sound they affect performance. Get your jetting right for each them and take it for a ride, see which characteristics you prefer instead
hell yeah man definitely the FMF with the FMF shorty I thought had the best sound also!! still can't believe how clean that bike is lol..and I like the way u maintenance and take care of your bikes!! I would definitely hold on to this one

The shorty sounds the best but they are loud but its not about how it sounds its the affect on performance for example that shorty should give you more power down low
The stock pipe also should have a spark arrestor or at lease most stock pipes do. I would keep the pro circuit and the stock silencer for wood rides. Sell the fmf silencer and the stock fat pipe. That’s what I think.

I have literally just looked this up as I am doing research on which is the best pipe to buy for my yz250. This helped me out heaps. I think the FMF Shorty pipe sounds the best! Has a real crisp crackle to it. Sounds mean! 🤙🏻
Stock pipe, with pro circuit silencer for sure !!! I'm def gonna get the pro circuit set -up the factory works look, with the welds now that's badass !!!
could you make a video on how to adjust the power valve. i screwed with mine and now im stuck. i took the adjuster off to clean it and dont know how to reset it to stock... thanks
the best is the silent one, not them. imagine if u are forced to hear these noise when u must sleep for illness. the best rider does not bother others for their selfishness.
It is, i rode around for about 10 minutes on each setup to see the difference in power. Didnt think it would be a noticeable difference but sure enough. The shorty w the fmf expansion was the best for super peppy low end. But later switched out the shorty for the stock silencer and kept the fmf expansion chamber and it was perfect to me. It was so smooth all the way through

It may just be me but my yz sounds deeper in tone but i do have boyesen reed vales and super cooler an power plane but it sounds sounds the same as stock
