I liked your video so much. Although, I am still really curious of the price of Elgar court ( ensuite with meal plan). It's my best accommodation so I'll love it if you can help me get the answer to my question.
Isn’t there one called the maltings? I went to an open day for UCB and that’s what they said is available for undergraduate currently. Please let me know, bye your videos were really helpful thankyou for sharing xx
We hadn’t personally heard of that one before, but there is a student accommodation called the maltings and it’s near the city centre, it’s most likely private accommodation and not university owned
Great vid, just one question... Is it guaranteed that you will get one of your 6 choices of accommodation of your application?? or could they even give you one that you didn't choose?
Hey just to let you know I’m in 1st year Birmingham now, I got 1st choice accommodation however I know of like 2 people who didn’t get their accommodation in the top 6, it’s very rare and most people get their 6 but it is possible!
Fun fact I applied for Birmingham city. Maybe in September I can meet you guys some time as both unis aren’t that far xx Eeekkkk I’m actually excited 😀 You guys are actually one of my fav RU-vidrs. Also I didn’t know you guys are Ghanaians cuz guess what so am I 😅
Hi Jessie and Jessica, Your videos are really helpful as I am choosing my accommodation for September 2022 entry. I think Calthorpe court suits me well, I don't mind it being far away from university but I have read some reviews about management and security not being good and also I want to be in all girls flat due to religious reasons. I just want to know how much they care about your preferences. Can you please ask people you know who live there for their reviews? and give me some information. I'll be really thankful to you. Kind regards feels like I have written a whole email.
Hey, we don’t know anyone personally who lives there x In your application you can specify that you want a single sex flat for religious reasons, and you can also call the accommodation services about your application if your preferences aren’t met, but because it’s due to religious reasons they will take it into consideration x
Hi! Which would you say would be a good choice for someone who wants to meet loads of people and be really social.. without being too clubby? thank you so much!
When staying in the green community are you expected to take part in lots of environmental stuff or is it more voluntary? Also roughly how much time do people there put into eco stuff?
hi:) it would be really helpful if someone could share how is it to live in spinney..as I am planning to book it. kindly someone give more details about it.
Heyy! Just wandering what accommodation type you guys live at. I’m planning to live in selly oak, cuz I have to get to the medical school and vale would be like ON THE OTHER SIDE😂 but I want a good first year social life, which accom at selly oak brings that? Also do you know roughly how far vale is from the medical school? X
oakbrook park, jarratt hall and battery park are all really good accommodations in Selly that will still give you that fun aspect and isn’t too far from the medical school, which is about a 10 minute walk
hey just wanted to askk what did you end up choosing? i am also looking at accoms right now after receiving an offer to do med at birmingham and i was just wondering where do most medical students stay at for their first year? i was thinking either prittchart or selly but im not suree especially as tehy have made new houses in prittcharts too so yea and selly oak seems rlly nice tooo so just wondering what you recommend?
@@chalenigunasegaram ahh I ended up choosing prittchartss just cuz its so convenient to like get to lectures and I heard that they have like renovated it or smthh have chosen yet?
Hey, you guys are great! Could you clarify if posgrads and undergrads arent allowed to live together? I started applying for accoms as an international postgrad and only options I'm seeing are Jarrett park, Spinney and studios in Pritchatts. Jarretts is still ok but the others arent cuz I need ensuite bathroom but dont want studios. Any way for me to apply for the other accoms nearer to uni ?? I dont want to be stuck in an overpriced accom far from campus sharing toilets with strangers.
On the uob accommodation website, they list all the post grad options, jarratt is the only one I know that has undergraduate and post graduate mixed that is also ensuite. I believe the Spinney is only post graduate students but it’s shared bathroom, but if you don’t like those and you want to have en-suite you’re best option is to be in a studio
Can I know, when will I need to pay the accomodation deposit? Currently I'm waiting for my results and on conditional offer status. If I apply for accommodation now, do I need to pay for 550 deposit? Or the uni will ask me to pay when my status change into unconditional offer? I'm so confused since the uob declare that the deposit will not be returned to the student at the end of the year
You will receive your accommodation offer from the 12th August onwards, if you like the accommodation you’ve been given you then pay your deposit in order to secure your room. You’ll only be offered an accommodation after you receive your results. The deposit is not refundable and does go towards the first installment/payment of your accommodation fees x
Hi, any comments on Oak Brook Park? I read the reviews was bad on the room conditions although the location is superb near to restaurants and supermarkets and walking distance to uni buildings
Oak brook is really close to all the shops, but the rooms are a bit more old fashioned and smaller number of people in a flat, but they do have modern stuff like a TV in the living room
Hi !! Your videos are soooo helpful thank you so much for doing this. I’m going there as an exchange student on September, would you recommend the accommodations that I will be making a lot of friends, socializing, partying but with the en-suit bathroom. Right now I am considering Tennis court but it’s a shared bathroom. 😭 also do you have any idea about how metalworks’ social like? Thank you so much 😊😊😊
It mainly depends on how comfortable you feel with other people cooking your food, but the university catering do follow all guidelines and procedures to make sure all the students are safe
Are there any upper year students living in accomodation? I am in second year and planning on doing an exchange at the University of Birmingham and was wondering whether I would be surrounded by others in my year or mainly first-year students.
