As a Ghanaian to be frank 1. South Africa(hosted world cup 2010, the apartheid, amapiano and more) 2. Nigeria (Took afrobeat global, burna winning a grammy, Nigerians are literally everywhere) 3. Ghana(First Sub Saharan Country to gain independence, the influence of Kwame Nkrumah and the big six, Year of return brought a lot of attention to Ghana, more and more African Americans trooping to Ghana, free citizenship to all African Americans, December in Ghana etc.) 4. Kenya (Can't say much but Tourism, Technology and Obama😂) 5. Senegal (Senegal is known in for soccer. Sadio Mane and the likes, origin of jollof rice, culture and a whole lot more) I didn't mention any North African country thus, Egypt, Morocco and the likes is because most people especially in the west don't even know them to be Africans. Because of their colour and culture they are considered as some sort of arabian islamic islands at the top part of Africa. Nigerians are in the big clubs of the world. I live in Venezuela, South America (a football dominated continent), Since the '94 world cup against Maradona's Argentina and Atlanta '96 Olympics Nigeria has been the most popular nation in south America. This is why even FIFA loves to group Nigeria with Argentina in the world cups, the two are known as the fiercest world cup rivals. The only African country to reach 5th position in FIFA ranking as of April 2014. 2. Religion: no christian today will doubt that Nigeria is no 1 in the world, it's now the center of Christianity...I think after Israel, the next most visited nation today by christians is Nigeria. 3. Entertainment: Hollywood, Bollywood and Nollywood are the top 3 in the world. Then afrobeat rose and is the other of the day today. In boxing, Anthony Joshua In UFC, Israel adesinya etc 3. Gospel sounds... Just the song "Way Maker" has been sang in over 57 languages.. Nigeria has the most famous gospel minister in Africa, if not in the world. 4. Population: the most populous black people on earth, 1 out of every 10 black man is a Nigerian. 5. My answer would be 1.Nigeria because they’re really everywhere and known for both wonderful things and very bad things 😂(Nigerian prince included) 2.South Africa because whenever we talk about African culture majority comes from there ,people mostly think of their language ,dressing ,traditional songs and dances especially in movies. 3. Egypt because you might not know them individually but the whole world is conscious of that name and some of their ancient histories (the nile river,The pharaohs,pyramids)it’s even in the Bible,the muslims know them and also from geographical historis and research too

Egypt is within the ranks for sure. And I think Egypt is the most popular African country. Egytian heritage and sports are the major reasons why I root for Egypt as the most popular African country. Egypt is even read in the Bible passages too. 2nd, Nigeria! Because of many factors like traveling African population, Talents( entertainment, sports and entrepreneurship) and cultures like food, festivals etc, Nigeria is felt and known from the distances. 3rd Should go to South Africa.
