IFSM Flyer That makes sense but also most pilots prefer using yoke then side stick because it’s easier to balance and straight off. I’d prefer yoke too. But I’d prefer side stick if I’m not steady.
Scoot was great, both wheels exactly at the same time, no bounce, didn't take forever to lower the nose wheel, like United, overall, my least favorite was probably ANA.
Its not a matter of him knowing if its long enough or not. The aircraft still couldve not touched down and you would have seen him go around. Dont be so rude to people especially when you dont know shit about aviation :)
For me, the first one is perfect. There is no debate, even before seeing the others haha. The VN 787-9 did an incredibly smooth touchdown too. All of them are very good though. Great video mate, thanks for sharing with us ;)
I disagree, the pilot flared the plane a bit too much, causing the plane to 'float'. As someone else pointed out, this could be an issue at airports with shorter runways, thus causing a go around. Fly safe :-)
Xiamen and New Zealand are the only ones touching down in the captain bars... For me a good landing is the one where the plane touches down where is supposed to and where you are aiming too and if its smooth, ten times better landing! BTW great video!
We are going to Sydney on American Airlines in September. I hope we have as smooth landing as this pilot did! Wow. But at the end, they are all great landings.
There were all pretty good landings, but there is not doubt that the American Airlines pilot did an amazing job of floating the plane over the runway with such elegance! At the end, they are all winners.
Qantas, American and United are all neck and neck with perfect touchdowns. Scoot comes a close second. All shown are very smooth and graceful landings.
They were all smooth. I loved them all but the best was probably American Airlines but remember that a good landing does not always need to have butter.
xiamen.... touch down parallel, no correction, no bounce at the front wheel, engaged reverse when front wheel was down.... touched down very early - top! but at the end, all very pretty good
To be honest though that Airplane is so easy to land and It’s smooth as well. (I’m still waiting to be a Captain,I’ve been a copilot for many years now 😂)
Love the 787. Rode my bicycle 6000km across AU from Perth to Brisbane. Stopped at SYD to watch planes, within 5 min the police came up to me and asked me what I was doing. I said just watching planes, I said I just rode from Perth. They almost fainted. LoL.
Also, the first one reminds me of me on Infinite Flight: always in an American 787-9, and always buttering it AFTER the touchdown zone! Awesome video, too!
Qantas and United were the best flare and touchdown, but Air New Zealand hit the target best and was a positive touch. Vietnam, American and Xiamen were not so good, as there was lack of flare, or too much float.
Certainly made it hard to choose a great one most of them were pretty dam good along with the filming and panning, stunning as usual going out on whim here and voting for the Xiamen for best landing, terrific viewing mate looking forward to having a go from there soon! Liked!

Xiamen and Air New Zealand. Right on spot on the touchdown marks and really smooth. Great landing for all airlines though represented in the video, truly smooth. Scoot, your touchdown was a bit hard though.

American absolutely buttered the bread, so it's AA for me! That spotting location is absolutely to die for, and Sydney offers such a stupendous variety of airlines :D
American was the smoothest one, but quite a long flare.. so I'd go for United. Some brought the nose wheel down quicky, probably with purpose in order to vacate early. Very nice video, love this persective!

I think American landed smoothly, both sets of mains down simultaneously etc, Air New Zealand looked like he was trying to get off the runway as fast as he could! Awesome assortment of operators there too, thanks for the video!
