Arkham Asylum literally revolutionized combat in ALL third person action games, not just the superhero genre. If it weren’t for Rocksteady outdoing themselves (twice) I’m confident it would still be considered one of the best video games of all time
@@bullymaguire3385 I hope you mean REMASTER IT because remaking often includes changing all the cutscenes and the story and voice cast and I don’t want that for origins the cutscenes are what makes that game for me
Tbh i love Arkham knight the most out of all 4 games but definitely atmosphere at asylum and boss fights at origins have it's own thing that makes those games so good.
Origins is still the most underrated because I still see it get more hate than the other three games. Ive seen more people say origins sucks than any other arkham game🤦♂️ smh. Even though origins has the best cutscenes, best boss battles, and is just arguably the most enjoyable to play. Orgins will always be number one to me 🤷♂️
@@Bugplanet8840 ive honestly never seen city get hate. I'm not saying it doesn't happen btw. I'm saying that I've personally never seen it happen. The most I've seen is people say it's kinda overrated but I've def seen origins and Knight get spat on
Knight is overhated. It easily has the best combat and gameplay in the series. The story has some problems but it’s still good. People cried for the Batmobile and then get mad when it’s a key part of the game
I’ve never hated the Batmobile so I really never understood why people hated the sections so much is all seems well designed and fun to use so I don’t get bothered
I know Asylum is aged but I played it for the first time last year and I had such an amazing time and couldn’t wait to continue the series. I’ve played games where I didn’t play in its heyday and/or not on its original console so while I recognize the history, I can’t get into it like I wanted. But that wasn’t the case here, I was having so much fun with Asylum. Definitely a favorite now. That said, I went into Origins expecting the worst since I saw so many talk poorly of it. And instead I ended up absolutely loving it. It shows how important it is to play for yourself to find how a game impacts you or doesn’t. as I too played it for 1st time last year I never experienced the rough start and I didn’t have too many issues with glitching in general fortunately. The story and cutscenes had me hooked and now it’s one of my favorite games ever. I doubt it’ll ever be remastered but if it was I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
Jeez. If I was going to make a list of the things wrong with the Batman Arkam City storyline it wouldn't be ANY of those. If I had to make a complaint it'd be, 1) Arkham city is an extremely stupid idea. I know that mind control was involved, but no one would give up prime real estate in new york city to turn it into a prison. It had a museum and an active steel mill for pity sakes! 2) The idea that Hugo strange would as he said make more Arkham cities in "Keystone" and "bludhaven when it basically failed within like a month or however long it was operating for to the point they needed to introduce protocol 10. It felt like the most contrived possible way they could have made a game where batman runs around in town and there's no civilians to worry about. 3) I have mixed feelings about the joker actually dying. On the one hand it's nice that there actually was a death and someone didn't just come back from the dead as common in comic book stories, but the Joker? Especially when he died 3 feet from a Lazarus pit. Ultimately I love the series and it became a useful plot element in arkham knight, but it still felt like such a gut punch.
Gotham City does isn’t supposed to be part of New York, despite one of NYC’s nicknames being “Gotham”…if I remember correctly Gotham is supposed to be in New Jersey
Yea it makes no sense how Hugo thought he could open up other Arkham cities when the first one went terribly, literally no one would let him make another Arkham city
Origins is getting overrated. I only see people saying it's the best gameplay wise, better than any of them etc. Going in blind, I think Asylum is the most underappreciated as of now.
Absolutely It’s just people that first Arkham game was Origins. Absolutely fucking no one that played Arkham Knight first would say Origins had the best gameplay. I’d say origins has the least balanced gameplay with close to zero improvements
Asylum, City, Origins and Knight are all fantastic games. I'm harsh on a lot of media. I'll be the first to absolutely shit on something if I don't like it or it's not up to my standards. But I absolutely love the Arkham games. They're all good. Some flaws yes, I'm not going to say anything is 100% perfect, but I absolutely adore the Arkham games. Even many years later they're all still fully fun and playable. I recently went through and played all 4 again but in chronological order and it was awesome.
Arkham Knight is I feel the most underrated and it’s my favorite due to people simply overlooking the fact that it’s one of the most well written endings for any game series, never have I’ve heard anyone say they were disappointed with how rocksteady ended the Arkham series (other than suicide squad) and I feel like for those who played through the entire franchise and experienced everything that Batman endured, The pain, the suffering, the losses and relationships, The way that Rocksteady tied up the series goes HEAVILY under appreciated
First Arkham game I played was Origins and I loved it to pieces. Years and years later I got Knight and I also loved it to pieces. I'm revisiting all 4 now so I have the full picture and complete experience for the ones I haven't played, and revisit the other 2 that feel like good ol' friends. All are incredible, full stop. They just don't make rugged and simple games like that anymore. Everything needs a ton of side missions, tons of complex mechanics, complicated or braindead stories, realistic graphics that give you headaches... Arkham games and other PS3 era games were the peak of gaming. Made with love, care and simplicity.
You explained the pros of knight very well it's the most refined in the series a technical Marvel that still holds up right but I only go back to it for the challenge maps the story has interesting missions like teaming up with Robin at the movie studios but city, Asylum and origins. But the arkham knight tie-in novel says batman was in denial about it being Jason Todd he knew (but it contradicts the game so it's not canon). Asylum is definitely still fun and is my second favorite in the series I like the simplicity of Asylum. Origins needs a remaster that's for sure. It has some of my favorite enemy types in the series like.
I'm retrogamer and I love PS2, even PS1 games. That's for saying that, if people thinks Arkham Asylum is outdated, they really have to play some older games...
Glad someone pointed out how much the riddler actually kicks ass in arkham knight. I thoroughly enjoyed collecting a solid 99% of those puzzles and the stuff you DONT need to be a collector over, just the regular mission atuff with riddler is even MORE fun.
Full 9 years passed despite being hated and underappreciated. Arkham Knight is still the most played in franchise and got a lot of praised by many as one of the best game to this day compare to many modern game. Nice video btw 🖤
Just because something is "outdated" doesnt mean its bad or underrated. IT WAS A MASTERPIECE IN ITS TIME AND STILL IS REGARDED as such. Ofc its outdated its from 2010! Yet I have heard no one talk bad about it. Additionally, it's still recommended to be played first than Origins and is literally featured more and played more than Origins. Origins is the most underrated even your subscribers say so. DO NOT LET BRO COOK
City was overrated to me. I replayed the trilogy n everything in city kind of blended in to me. Story was kind of all over the place as well. I liked asylum the best since it had that claustrophobic feel and a certain horror element. Knight was fun except for the Batmobile. I actually haven’t even finished knight because of it.
I think Asylum is the best of the series and one of the best games EVER, but I also recognize that it's partly cause it's probably the least ambitious of the Arkham games, taking the least risks, the most ambitous being Knight which I think is the most underrated by a margin.
And all the love is given to the rocksteady trilogy because they have rights over those games. They don’t own Arkham origins so they can’t remaster it themselves and WB just doesn’t give a shit lol
The problem with Arkham city's story was never about it being a glorified fetch quest for me... I love the whole joker batman plot line! But the whole protocol ten story makes very little sens, but it's a comic book plot so who cares if it's unrealistic that a villain would manage to section off a whole district of Gotham with full authorisation from the government. What's more problematic is strange knowing batman's identity, (to my knowledge it's never explained how he finds that out), and never actually doing anything with that information... Hugo strange litteraly says "if you try and stop me, I guarantee everyone will know your secret" and then batman proceeds to try and stop him and... Nothing... strange doesn't reveal his identity... Like what was the point ?
Those reasons why i have problem with Arkham knight it never about batman Vs scarecrow it about batman Vs joker Arkham series can never live without joker that annoys me so much Origins black mask should of been the main villain knight it should be scarecrow and hush not joker I could argue that Hugo strange sent tiger guards to Wayne manor but nightwing fought them off
14:28 he didnt move the gun, the entire scene is literally fake plus for the first time itd be like a fight club thing the gun is always there but batman just thinks it got moved Another thing when batman sees joker for the first time when he shoots him thats the exact same thing
Gavin Blake Batman is the most underrated. It's good to see him treating normal citizens the same level as the criminals and says goodnight to them when he's done. What a nice guy.
I don't know why Origins is so underrated. Definitely an equal to the rest. The DLC and gameplay was excellent. Bigger region than Arkham city and They did a fuckin fantastic job on Origins. No complaints 💯
Recently, a lot of people have been revisiting Origins, hence its cult following making it one of the most popular games in the series. Having played Origins, I find it WAY too similar to base Arkham City, despite the mostly great story, and amazing boss fights. When revisiting Knight (this time with the DLC) I have to say that I am liking it a lot more than I did on my first playthrough. I'm considering bumping it up to third place on my ranking just because Season of Infamy makes it so much better! Overall, Knight.
No, if we have to say it is, it still is. These persons, which I'm related, means it isn't even considered part of arkham series and is in shadows and is said it is not good enough. Arkham city is not bad absolutely but wants to be more than what it is and is a usual thing in Rockstar
Here's another kicker about the complaints about the Batmobile being overused in Arkham Knight: Ever since Arkham City, people have been clamoring for a drivable Batmobile in the Arkham series, yet the moment they get their wish granted, they complain that it's "Overused" Yet i'll be if the Batmobile was purely used as a means of transportation & nothing else, those same fans would complain about not being able to use any of the Batmobile's gadgets
If it weren't for the glitches plaguing Arkham Origins, I would genuinely think it's the best in the series. If a new player were to ask me where to start, I would suggest Asylum if they're dedicated right out the door. If they're more hesitant, I would've suggestrd Origins. But due to the game's poor condition, I'm forced to recommend City instead. While Origins did basically steal everything from City, at the end of the day it's an Arkham game with the mechanics of City with a better story and better boss fights. City has greater highs, but also greater lows. Origins' strength over the other games is that it's consistently good with more averaged out peaks and valleys.
I wouldn't take him seriously given his more childish tendencies. Like being mad at Sony for moving their games to other platforms. For someone who hates a game he sure spends a lot of time watching arkham knight videos just to say "I hate it"
I wanna recommend a video from a channel called S.K. who did a response video from another youtuber called GodzillaMendoza who did a video that critiqued Arkham Knights story and managed to counter a lot of the points made that other people usually make against Arkham Knight. I feel talking story is already pointless since peoples enjoyment with it can be subjective Also I would say Asylum is underrated in terms of aesthetic with the comic style menu that was later ditched for the high tech look.
The only reason the Batmobile is used to much is bc Arkham knight is the first Arkham game where u can use the Batmobile anytime u want so they wanted players to use it as they have put time into programming and putting in the Batmobile graphics and etc
Haven't seen the video, but from my opinion it's gotta be arkham knight. People really sleeping on the amazing dynamic between batman and jason just because "we want an original villain". By far the stupidest thing I've ever heard, an excuse that completely negates any form of praise someone can give to said dynamic
you wont pick city, you probably wont pick origins, so between asylum and knight i'll say asylum is the one you end up picking (haven't watched the video yet)
Yeah, obviously we're not going to praise the traversal of the batmobile when 90% of your use of it is miserable and you'll use gliding more for traversal anyway Also id argue Arkham city has the best combat because there's so many special enemies in Arkham knight that it ends up just feeling like you have to deal with them before actually getting to the fun part. The problem isn't that they exist, it's that there is too many. And also medics just kinda suck imo. I have way more fun in the other 3. Also I feel like saying the other Arkham games have moments where you get hit for unfair reasons is just untrue, in boss fights and stuff sure, but for regular combat you could say the same things about Arkham knight. (You could argue asylum is unfair tho maybe, I just personally don't mind it) Arkham knight also is just a soulless game with a terrible story, you can tell in so many parts that they just did not care, such as side missions. And generally the first 2 especially showed much more love for the character which was wonderful but at times Arkham Knight doesn't even feel like Batman to me. Batman operating a gun in anyway is just truly odd, the design for batman looks bad and doesn't feel like Batman at all, and his characterization is terrible. Batman is not a completely stoic figure that barely speaks while doing the craziest things ever to his loved ones, he shows such an underwhelming amount of emotion during extremely impactful moments such as oracle dying and him putting robin in prison and leaving him defenseless (which I honestly think is unforgivable). You could explain this away with the dumb fear gas plot but the problem is that it will just never feel right, the game tells you nothing about what batman feels and thinks throughout which is VERY necessary in a plot like this. People are way too forgiving to this game, there is so much better batman media. The problem is that because people become basically obsessed with these games they start thinking they're like literally the best games ever which is wild because there're so many games out there that are as good or better than these even though they are amazing. Also people act like Arkham Batman is the definitive batman when he's just not and it's not even that great of a version/adaptation of the character, just read a comic book. I personally think it's CRAZY to be like a huge batman fan but only care about Arkham and the movies, batman is more than like 4 games and 5 movies and the heart of the character, and most valuable stories, will always be found in the comics (excluding DCAU which is some of the best batman stuff) y'all are free to disagree though!! If you love the Arkham games THAT much then that's good for you, do whatever makes you happy. Arkham asylum is my favorite, it shows a lot of love for the character, I'm in love with the horror aspects, the gameplay is mostly fantastic, and I like the voice performances the most. Also I think it's genuinely very pretty. I think the fighting can be difficult but even if it is, it's just fun, if you learn to not take it seriously it's a blast. The combat does not work with those kinds of challenges because it's not perfect but playing on higher difficulties and stuff is such a good time. I prefer the predator a lot more to the other games because it feels intense and difficult while still giving me room to be creative and have fun. Arkham knight is too easy to the point where you just end up focusing on doing challenges and looking cool (which I don't think is as fun) rather than the core aspects. Arkham city has some really really good predator levels but I just enjoy asylum predator the most. It's also the easiest to forgive because while it's rushed there's just so much passion and unique vision put into it that the flaws are understandable. The only parts I genuinely dislike is ivy because it's just a bad fight and scarecrow, because I personally think the gameplay is really bland and dying is WAY too unforgiving and time consuming for gameplay that doesn't actually test your skill in any way.
City is THE MOST overrated Arkham game. The Ra's Al-Ghul being the mastermind plot twist is trash. Who the hell is Hugo Strange? Not even the Top 10 of Batman's rogues gallery. Not to mention Hugo Strange is lame, and he did nothing consequential with his knowledge on who Batman is. You cannot even defend Arkham City's story. You have no argument, only vague things like "...details, plot twist, worldbuilding...". Um, elaborate? "Nope, I refuse to" Arkham City's story criticism is justified. Mr. Freeze's boss fight is ULTRA overrated. I cannot see how I can genuinely enjoy the fight for my next playthroughs other than the first. The fight is all substance and no style. Even Mr. Freeze and Batman made a remark on how formulaic the boss fight is. Deathstroke boss fight in Arkham Origins is so much better. It has style. Honestly, unironically, I think people who say Arkham City is their best game only say that because of nostalgia. Ask every other person what the definitive Batman Arkham experience is, and they will say Arkham Knight.
@@ShadowbannedAccount I'm sorry but I disagree with everything you said ra al ghul plot twist was Great unlike arkham knight. "hugo strange is so lame" so what it good to learn more batman villains than the joker if Arkham city criticism is justified then Arkham knight criticism is also justified and how mr freeze fight is overrated Mr freeze fight always Keep you on your toes since you can't do the same moves twice everyone in the community always praises Mr freeze for in creative yeah deathstroke from Arkham origins is good I can't lie but Mr freeze always be better anyway it u opinion about that. no not always about nostalgia people generally like it that the gameplay and story I think that your worst take ever. Only maybe some people may say batman Arkham knight makes a definitive batman Arkham experience but all that just your headcanon the real answer would be Arkham asylum or origins
23:28 I see you didn’t acknowledge Suicide Squad's lower player count than Arkham Origins, Respect +, that game, for me, is a Ketamine-induced fever dream of Harley Quinn while in Arkham Asylum
i must say that arkham asylum has the best physics you can break environment batman's cape reacting better than in any other game and you can cut clothes with batarangs developers lost this technology i guess
@@user-wc1cc1pu1jWell I understand why some people would do that, mainly because of gameplay, the lore in asylum is absolutely insane. Every little thing in asylum is too good.
Definitely. I grew up with these games. Got Arkham asylum back in 2008 after it had only been out for about a week. It’s my least favorite now. It’s the birth of everything we’ve come to love from this franchise, but damn, it really is the birth. The boss fights are god awful besides poison Ivy. Asylum’s atmosphere and charm don’t outshine the later more epic stories and plot lines the franchise gets into for me. And origins came out when I was tired of the Arkham series, needed a break, there weren’t any other games out at the time that I wanted so I got it. I was pleasantly surprised. It really piggy backed off of what came before, with origins open world easily being my least favorite to explore out of origins, city, and knight. But from an evolving the franchise standpoint, origins really focuses on the bosses and turns up the notch from city. Those boss fights are the best in the series, and they alone make the game much more enjoyable if you’re going to play through them all. The story is surprisingly epic as well, and with it also being the only game to show the actual bat cave, it’s a must to play along with the others. The voice actors not only did amazing as joker and Batman, but the fact that they changed the actors and that this is years before the other games make it work really well. Arkham Knight is the definitive Batman experience. In no other game will you have all the gadgets down the Batmobile. The graphics still look like a game that was made recently. The gameplay mechanics, from everything that returns from the previous games to the wide array of new additions, are refined to a level of quality beyond the other games. The boss fights unfortunately took a major hit, with some enemies being brought down in extremely anticlimactic ways. The whole namesake of the game was a red herring just to introduce a character that was already established, along with the lie that rocksteady said the character was completely original to the Arkhamverse. And then there’s City, which is absolutely perfect in every way. Batmobile won’t be shoved down your throat to where even the boss fights suffer. Here, there’s no Batmobile, and the map is perfectly sized for on foot, grappling, and gliding only. Everything from asylum comes back and is done bigger and better. Quick fire gadgets, riddler trophies actually lead to riddler side missions, a story that weaves its way around many villains, boss fights that are unique throughout, and the first game to introduce multiple side missions that could be tackled at any time. Side missions that culminated in Batman crossing path with another of his iconic rogues gallery. Arkham City was just absolute genius. Didn’t rely on the previous games like origins, took what asylum did and blew it out of the water, and managed to take all the right risks with that unlike Knight. My ranking is 4. Asylum 3. Origins 2. Knight 1. City
I really hate it when people dismiss games just because they're old. I've recently been playing through the Devil May Cry series for the first time. Some of those games are over 20 years old and, except for the second one, they're all fantastic.
Thankfully tons of folk still replay the classics and adore them. Though as far opinion’s go I’ll always have a hard time agreeing with RU-vidr critics who claim Arkham Knight is a garbage video game Simply for some of its flaws
I think Arkham Knight is the most underrated because the open world is by far more amazing than anything we’ve seen before in the series, and is one of the best open worlds of all time, it is just perfect. And I know this is just based on when the games were released but the graphics are A LOT better than the other games. But also the nightwing suit probably balances out all of that with how bad it was so…🤷♂️
@Sabiq16 literally how lol, each island has its own distinct style and contains a bunch of detail, so much it wouldnt surprise me if there were things no one has noticed akin to seeing man-bat early in the story
@@Knighthawk_ I don't disagree with you about that. The map has a lot of detail and diveristy but I expected it too bee more like the background of arkham city if you remember. Please search on youtube "gotham city retrospective" if you want to see an analyzation of the map.
The argument about City's story being nothing but a fetch quest is certainly a weak one. I'd like to give my reasons for it being my least favorite story in the franchise (despite still really enjoying it). Batman as a character is completely stagnant, undergoing no introspection or development, while also being far too emotionless. Batman should be stoic but it's far too much in City, especially compared to the others. In Asylum he has caring banter with Oracle and even chuckles occasionally and he shows genuine care for Gordon. In Knight he practically cries when he thinks Oracle dies, and the plot basically revolves around his fear of failing the people he loves. I think Origins doesn't even need to be mentioned it does this aspect so well. But in City he's basically a statue. His coldness towards Robin doesn't feel like protectiveness he just comes off as uncaring. He has a stronger reaction to Hugo Strange's death than Talia's. The plot of the cure isn't the best but the only thing about it that actually bother's me is that Hugo Strange is reduced to a complete non threat. Once Bruce is infected there is ZERO investigation of Protocol 10 until Sharp is arrested, when scaling Wonder Tower Strange doesn't do anything to make good on his threat at the beginning of "if you try to stop me, everyone will know your secret," and then he's just gone after being revealed to be a lacky for Ra's. It's not that I think the story is bad at all, I still greatly enjoy it, but I much prefer Bruce's characterization in every other game and I would've preferred more focus on the Protocol 10 mystery than just the cure. Man that was an essay, sorry lol.
I say strange got arrogant by the end everything of his went according to plan he's been manipulating everyone playing catwoman and two face against each other, ratting out Gordon's undercover team, giving freeze to penguin manipulating quincy sharp using Mad Hatter etc. He kept batman off his tail and from investigating protocol 10 until it was literally 20 minutes away and by then it was too late. In the opening he says "I assume you thought yourself untouchable well as you can see no one is untouchable" By the time you are about to apprehend him he ironically says "I am untouchable" all of his successes got to his head and it became his downfall. Even Ras Al Ghul calls him out on it. "you've proven that batman is better than you" batman never got arrogant
@@baki484 and like that's exactly what happened, but I feel like it kinda undermines his "cold and calculating" thing. And they could've just avoided it by making that final stealth section similar to the one in Asylum in the Botanical gardens where you need to sneak past everyone to get to the guy in the control room first. Strange assumes Batman fell off the tower once his people lost sight of him, which means until you take out the first guy in the top room he thinks you're no longer a threat. If you had to sneak past the guards, silent takedown Strange, and THEN the rest of them, that would have solved that issue in my eyes
@@jacobcenter7374 When he thinks batman has fallen of the tower is just a showing of the sheer arrogance going to his head even after taking out the guard and batman is literally standing right there without a door separating. Even as you unlock the door you realize he's nervous when you scan him. At that point hes trying to convince himself that his plan isn't unraveling. Riddler calls him out on his insecurities and how he feels unworthy. In a way his failure was foreshadowed. Then there he lunatics from arkham Asylum being his handy work on top of their disposal in wonder city. The reveal of batman's identity was something he planned to do after the work was done with batman beaten and broken. But I wish the final stealth room was us taking everyone out with him noticing And he didn't make good on "if you try to stop I guarantee everyone will know your secret".
I enjoyed playing all four of the games, but I've replayed Knight the most and consider it my favorite. I remember feeling genuinely upset that Barbara had died, and was replaying the scene in my head. Then it hit me that Joker moved the gun, and out loud I exclaimed "Joker moved the gun!" and confused my Mom who had no idea what I was talking about. also Knight turns 10 next year and that makes me feel old.
@@bullymaguire3385tbh Asylum is the only one that can be considered "clunky" City and Origins brought the combat up a few notches and Knight kept that ball rollin til the end
Asylum 8/10 Pro: Best atmosphere Con: Worst graphics (it still looks pretty good. It’s just the newer ones look more better so not too big of a critique). City 10/10 Pro: Best Story Con: Worst intro (not the biggest fan of the beginning prison scene but it’s not too long so it can be easily brushed aside). Origins 9/10 Pro: Best Boss Fights (Deathstroke and 1st Bane boss were the best Fights in any Arkham game and I’ll stand by that). Con: worst runtime (feels very short compared to the other 3). Knight 8/10 Pro: Best Graphics/World design Con: Worst Boss fights (Deathstroke deserved the Origins treatment for him in this game not some Tank BS) Suicide Squad: KTJL 3/10 Pro: best looking Justice League team Con: Worst Story Ever! Arkham Shadow (to be determined) Pro: (to be determined) Con: it’s on freaking Meta Quest of all things!
I think Batman Arkham Asylum isn’t given enough credit perhaps? It was an unbelievable foundation for The Arkham Series, and it was a brilliant game! Sure, it didn’t have the most advanced combat or mechanics like we now have in Batman Arkham Knight, but I think its atmosphere was unmatched. It also brings back so many memories, and so much nostalgia. And respectfully, nostalgia is a hard feeling to beat as it’s such an awesome feeling that is universal for all videogamers!
As a retrogamer, I'm kinda shocked Asylum is considered so outdated for "today standards". What would people think if they play PS1 or Nintendo 64's classics? 😧
Imo knight is the most underrated. People make it seem way worse than it is (main point being the Batmobile) when you don’t even use it as much as people drag it on to seem.
The potential is still wasted. The driving mechanics feel clunky, and all you really do with it is copy and paste tank battles that require no thought or strategy. Yeah, you don’t use the Batmobile a ton, but when the only times you do use it are boring, then people make a big deal out of it
Arkham City is easily the most overrated, Arkham Origins is easily the most underrated, Arkham Knight is easily the most overhated, and Arkham asylum is just Arkham asylum
I like how he discredits The criticisms towards Arkham City by saying they're vague and are stupid. But then proceeds to not give any real reasons of why those criticisms can't be applied to the game.
The part about Batman Arkham city being a goose chase I somewhat agree with when doing the whole penguin part, go to this jammer then the next then the next then everything inside
@@YouScareMe1 Yeah but it's definitely most prominent in City and Origins. Find out about protocol 10, Save Catwoman to find out more about protocol 10, find where the joker attempted to shoot Catwoman, completely abandon investigating protocol 10 to go after the joker. Get infected with joker's blood and go to the GCPD and find Freeze. Freeze isn't there so go to the museum. The museum is locked so go around the city and the subway system to destroy jammers. Go into the museum to get Freeze. Get sidetracked by a hostage situation. Save Freeze and the hostages, but then have to chase a ninja. Which leads you to Ras al ghul, which leads to you once again going to the GCPD to talk to Freeze. But then the cure gets taken, So you go back to the steel mill to get it back. And then after basically being forgotten since like the first hour of the game, Protocol 10 actually happens.
damn... this video basically sumarized what i think about the whole underrated conversation to perfection. what an amazing video, keep up the good work man
I do actually agree with the criticisms of City's story after a recent playthrough... The story starts off extremely interesting with Protocol 10, but then is almost completely abandoned for chasing Joker's cure instead. It's a wild goose chase with not much character growth in it. It has a phenomenal ending, and still incredibly solid gameplay and graphics, but yeah the plot is barebones until Protocol 10 actually comes into effect towards the end. I've come around to Knight recently. It's my new favorite Arkham game despite its many flaws. The raw gameplay is just that insanely good and massively improved over the other 3. I only replayed the first 3 games once, but with Knight, I've beaten it on every save file.
Im sorry but I disagree with everything you said yes the story has it problems but u are giving knight too much credit knight has way more problems than city like deathstroke, hush, joker and joker blood plot, scarecrow getting shafed from more joker, boss battles and Jason todd
@@nathanadams7595 Arkham Shadow is just that, with RGC too! I know it's a VR exclusive but the devs care about the Arkhamverse WAYYYY more than rocksteady and they even have freeflow combat!
glad that someone finally came out and said that the batmobile was well designed and implemented into AK. The driving was incredibly smooth, the tank fights especially after full upgrades were so much fun, and the eject boost are so much fun to run at full speed with the nitro boost
