These three stoves are all incredibly similar in their design and overall purpose, but which boils the fastest: the MSR Windburner, Jetboil Flash or Primus Lite Plus?
I did a fun test on my RU-vid channel where I tested them in different wind speeds in a controlled environment. The Windburner wiped the floor with the Jetboil Flash! 😯
are all jetboil similar? I wonder how the primus lite + compares with the jetboil micromo (MSR windburner is out of budget for me and maybe too much for my use as well)
The windburner insulation locks into place to keep it up top. Just press under the handle as you slide it up into the slots, then press the tab to lock it in. Jetboil is probably the best overall for most people.
Unless your hitting massive peaks and serious conditions you will never see the benefits of the MSR, the JB flash is more than enough, ive hammered mine for years and its never skipped a beat
My Windburner uses 5-7 grams of fuel to boil 16 oz depending on wind. I have used it in steady 30 mph wind with gusts even higher. Cons are no igniter, heavy and expensive, I bought mine on sale for $127 in 2021. Despite the cons, If I could have only one stove the Windburner would be it because it works when most other stoves wouldn’t. According to MSR the Windburner is “assembled” in Seattle USA.
