@@5pdr cotton hair ties are going to cause friction and potential breakage and bonnets are meant to prevent breakage so if you’re wearing those hairs ties you’re not gettin full benefits of the bonnet.
@@omni_zeta3707 I coincidentally have the same hair ties (goody ouchless hair ties for thick hair) and they aren’t cotton, they’re mostly polyester and work really well surprisingly. My family literally keeps taking mine because they’re so good. I use my jumbo bonnet and I throw my hair in a bun every night and my hair is always popping the next day, so it depends.
Yes go for the bigger one because the fact that the smaller one outlines your hair means it will be a bit compact or matted which is why I got jumbo too.
The 2nd Bonnet is what I use.... Tbh, i still don't like it. But it works for me just as long as I wear a satin scarf underneath. Don't really like tying the satin scarf on my head (blood circulation) ... or when the edge of the bonnet rub against my hairline. (But the bonnet is helpful -- in order to keep my satin scarf in its place and also protect my hairline)
LMAO If you stretch your hair out and it's down to the neck/shoulder area, I'd say use the bigger one. If your hair is on the longer side, the smaller one will compress the curls you're trying to keep stretched.
Lets not act like all of a sudden we cant grow out hair without a bonnet..stop it..we got guys with locks down to their back that never wore a silly bonnet one time in their life..leave that silly $hit alone..what the hell happened to self preservation with BP..back in the 70s 80s 90s and early 00s we never showed our private life to the world like this..smh
this is some sad chit. 300 yrs of struggle to be free and treated like a man to come to this. too many have died for the liberation of black people and this how this generation shows their respect to those who gave it all for the humanity of their offspring. Selfish and ignorant . A bonnet (shower cap) not a kente cloth crown or turban, a damn shower cap. you people are lost !
Shut you dumb ass up. Pumps and niggas with jerry curls was wearing caps back in the late 60s and 70s get your facts straight first before you start trying to speak on something about the culture you uncivilized mutt.
The parachute one is for longer hair or if your growing it out it’ll adjust to the size but a small one is for if your possibly gonna keep it short or have short hair designs.
Honestly for twistouts I would still do a do rag. I have a do rag it has a pouch in a back. That way keeps your hair from moving around while you have it on.
For any young guys watching, this isn't anything you should be wearing. From a guy that was known to do the corn rows, plus straightened hair that was very long, this dainty crap isn't the move.
First one is better. The second one ends up being painful after a while of wearing it. The band is too tight and damaging to the nape of the neck and your edges. They give me headaches. I just got a long one for my braids and I got a small pack of silk from the craft section at Walmart to alter it into a tie-on.
i have a big bonnet except its like a longgg for braids and things like that- maybe you should try it? but yeah those small bonnets ive had since i was 6 im js so used to it lol
This why I suck at growing my hair out... I just don't see myself rocking a bonnet. Even just at night while I sleep. I'd rather look like something totally went wrong lol
I’m not a guy, but large satin scarves and slap caps from Grace Eleyae are my go-to. My hair moves around too much in a bonnet, and the band rubs up against my edges 👎🏾 There really should be more options for guys with a lot of hair. Looks like you might’ve found a need in the market…
Where can I get that one?! or what bonnet would you recommend? I just bought my first one I’ve had a long hair journey I thought I have white girl hair for a very long time. It’s a struggle being mixed because I never knew my hair as much as my aunties ,mom ,grandmother. Once I figured out that I had black girl hair (bc people say mixed girl hair doesn’t exist….. I don’t know I call it makes grow hair but I just don’t want to agitate people🤣🤣 I don’t care either way, but I just want to keep them from losing their sanity over a comment. on the Internet. From my scalp to a little bit above the middle of my neck, it’s straight, from there down it’s really curly. I feel like I should just cut my hair off so that it can grow back to its natural curly state because when I grew up, I never had my mom do my hair. She stop doing my hair since I was about six because every time I would get it done I cut it I know it sounds stupid but my mom is a deadbeat… AnyWho, I just need help figuring out how to make my hair look just exactly like my moms because her hair looks exactly like mine and she can get her into an Afro and I want to do the same thing but I don’t know how… she never tells me she will never help me ever again in my life. The only thing she’s worried about is M E T H🙂
As a white woman, I have a quick question. Would it be cultural appropriation if I used a bonnet while I sleep? I’m not trying to steal from anyone’s culture or mock anyone. Would this be okay? I know that sounds like a weird question, but I just want to do the right thing.
Hey, I completely respect and understand your question so thanks for your curiosity! It all depends on your purpose for doing it. Generally most people don't wear it for a fashionable sense, it's more so to protect our hair from being tangled/matted and messed up at night. So with that being said, do you know why you would want to/feel the need?
@@JayshaunTrains Just to protect my hair. I have very fine hair, so it gets tangled at night pretty easily. I don’t wear it for a fashion trend or anything. Edit: Autocorrect lol
I've seen period shows, movies where white people men and women wear night caps, bonnets. A quick Google will say that they were worn by men and women in the west back in the 1400's to keep heads warm before central heating and to keep bald men's dignity. It also states that European women wore them in the 1800's particularly those in the British isles and Scandinavian countries again for warmth before central heating. At some point white people stopped doing it.i guess cause central heating happened and they didn't realise it was good for there hair as they hadn't been without them before. Make of that what you want. Hope it helps 😊 I'm white Scottish and have fine hair so am curious to see if this would help me with breakage and tangles.
@@emmaaaaaa62442 then you don't have to worry about culture anything, it's a bonnet, it's not meant for a specific group of people but rather a specific function, so if that's what you're using it for then it's no problem.
it depends how curly it is, fine curls and or wavy hair it can be protected with a bonnet, but if its slicked straight then you could easily use one of those slicks (i honestly forgot what they are called) or socks to protect your hair
@@shinSenkaii It will. You wash your hair, let it dry up a bit. Wear something to keep it flat. Then wrap a durag ontop tight so it stays flat on your head, it works for me.
It would also be impossible for a durag to completely cover someone that has a lot of twists, like this person, So unless you have a small amt of twists it ain't fitting. Not to mention why you would want to compress your twist, you're supposed to keep them stretched out.
