You know you get to feel old when you realized that same actor (Wolff) was not even born yet when you were enjoying his Mother's (Polly Draper) portrayal as Ellyn Warren in the tv show 'Thirtysomething' 1987- 1991. Also his younger brother (Alex) was her (Hale) also love interest in the movie Dude, 2008.
@@MMacAttack pales in comparison to Capital Hill, considering Ivanka and Jared received a 2.1 billion dollar pay check from the Saudi royal family. Wonder how much insider/classified govt. secrets were compromised with that transaction. You think they could get that sweet deal if Daddy trump wasn't POTUS during that time ??
This movie is based on a wonderful book by Steve Almond and Julianna Baggot, but loosely, apparently to fit it into a feature length film. The book is wonderful and romantic and honest. And written by two true masters of the craft. If the dialogue can approximate what is in the book, then it will likely be funny and worthwhile. In any event, read the book no matter what, it will most definitely be better.
Unless there's some final twist they're hiding, this trailer just showed what looks to be every major beat in the film I do like the movie's concept though
You see you'd think that would be a problem yet psychology studies have shown again and again the vast majority of people want to know what they are getting before they see a movie. And trailers like this that lay out the plot get more people to go buy tickets or stream the show than the enigmatic ones that tell you little.
I really like the sort of 50's doo-wap song in this trailer. I had a heck of a time trying to find it online but it is The Boy by Shannon and the Clams, if anyone else is curious!
how does one have so many relationships to even talk about? I have like 2-3 people who I think about often and that's about it lol - other than that it's like whatever or just me being single - regardless of my rant... I'm going to see this :D
@@catherinestarling8715 first thank you for introducing me to this movie with those two amazing leads. and omg I was smirking at the trailer just from their airport wait. I'm sure I know how it will end but god damn do I feel the crazy chemistry and cute moments and omg this 2024 trailer feels like milineal/gen z college coming of age with no nuance and the entire plot given. the only plot twist is they don't get together at the end. and I still wouldn't care. thank you again for putting me onto this movie. and i'm millineal for context
How I Met Your Father is so horrible though.. I re-watched HIMYM recently and it’s so much funnier. I kept trying to see what the difference is and the think the old cast had wayyyy more chemistry than what is happening on HIMYF and also had better writing. Yes HIMYM was a cheesy sitcom and not realistic but it had really funny parts and even some emotional parts. I did not care about Ted Mosby at all he was the least interesting character/ the Everyman and the last season was rushed and sucked but the rest were good. I can’t imagine HIMYF going for more seasons. And I like Hillary Duff but it has absolutely zero of the magic of the old show. The new show seems way too forced, the people don’t seem like a real friend group at all, and I don’t care about any of the characters. I also don’t want to see anyone on the new show wind up together.
Just watched this and you know those couples that won’t make it after the credits role and will most definitely break up in the long run? Well this was them in a nutshell. They tried to go with the whole la la land storytelling route and I don’t think it was translated well. I feel like these two characters, Jane and Will are incompatible and would be better off leaving each other alone. Don’t get me started on how all the events basically took place in one day and the following morning after. This story is a told in a series of flashbacks with both characters past failed relationships and they use that to “talk” and essentially get to know each other. In my opinion, both characters need therapy, not a relationship. It’s very clear Will needs to put his relationship with his daughter first… that reveal came as such a surprise and honestly I think recognizing he’s not a good or involved father is the first step. Now he needs to learn to be a good dad to his daughter and show up / be more present in her life. He cant mend his relationship with his daughter by getting into a relationship with Jane who he hardly knows. Jane also is nowhere near ready to deal with anyone else’s baggage let alone a struggling single dad. Jane has her own issues she needs to work through and essentially heal her inner child. It’s also so clear they have very different upbringings / outlooks on life and just need to figure out who they are individually. This movie was so chaotic and I honestly did not feel the chemistry between the two characters. They gave more best friend vibes than anything else and the 3rd act conflict and resolution was rushed and made no sense. Lucy and Nat tried their best but the script / plot of this movie was not it so there was only so much they could do with the material. This movie completely missed the mark and I would not recommend. I would give it less than a 4/10 for sure 💀
@@krashd Movies are meant to be a fantasy, something that life does not offer: attractive people, beautiful outfits, witty dialogues. If I want to see regular people, it’s free. I can look outside my window.
Did you know... The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life throught Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 You and I broke the law and Jesus paid the fine. God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Believe and repent today! The consequences are eternal.
