I think the triple track or truvis are the selling points for Callaway compared to similar priced balls , if performance and price are the same the help with putting might be the reason for playing them 👍
Hi Paul! That’s an absolutely fantastic point that I should have referred back to in my conclusions! I totally agree, especially as someone who draws a line on his ball for putting! I do like that about the Chrome Soft range! Thanks for watching another video and for an excellent comment! 👍🏼
great channel just found it and i had to subscribe being a 59 year old with a swing speed of 90-94 handicap of 8 this channel is great for us average golfers would love to see you test the VICE PRO SOFT interested in what you think and what the stats show keep up the good work cheers from Vulcan Canada
Hi GolfAddict65! Thanks for watching! I've just replied to your comment on my other video with a more detailed response! But rest assured the Vice Pro Soft is on my list! All the best! 👍
I like the Chrome Soft! It’s not my regular ball! I like the Wilson Triad! Question for you? The spin rates are a little on the high side on all of your ball reviews, have you tried an LS driver to compare results? Thanks for the review.
Hi Richard! Thanks for watching and for your question! So with my driver if you pick out the ‘best hits’ on TM then it would tell you my spin is actually quite optimal. The issue is that my not perfect hits (majority of the time!) are often due to my Angle of Attack being slightly down and because of that tendency I’m actually playing my driver at 11.5 degrees loft - the outcome of that is I actually need the extra loft which creates extra spin on those shots to maximise carry by keeping the ball in the air. When I then hit up on it about 1 degree the spin drops straight into a 2600-2800 window and I can get 225 yard carry and then 245-250 yard total on TM which is the optimal for me (according to TM and my fitter) I did an experiment with my fitter at Precision Golf recently (that I should have filmed it! But it gave me the idea to make a video on this topic!) where we played around with driver lofts and this gave me a window on perfect hits to add 5 yards but on the majority of hits the drop off was too big or they were going off the planet left and right! So we agreed my current set up gave me the best balance of distance and accuracy the majority of the time and I’ve learnt the key to my handicap coming down is keeping it in play off the tee! It’s a great question though and I think I’ll try and film two videos soon - one talking about Driver setups/lofts and trade offs and another where I put an LS driver head in my hands vs a normal head! I think it’s the point you raise which ultimately made me prefer the Chrome Soft X LS in this video. It just naturally knocked driver spin down that 200 rpm for me without me changing a lot! Thanks for watching another video and for a great question! 👍🏼
Just discovered your channel and have subscribed. As a mid handicap golfer, it's great to watch content from someone with a similar swing speed to my own. I believe it makes reviews much more relevant for us average golfers. Thanks for the great content! If price was no object, which golf ball would you be playing? BTW, I play pro v1x, pro V1x (left dash) or Vice Pro. However, I found a TP5x recently and used it for a couple of rounds. I was surprised by the number of drives I had in play with the TP5x and that it took me 2 rounds before I lost it 😜I normally lose a couple of balls/round as I play a course with lots of tight fairways and thick woods on either side. I'd take accuracy over distance any day. Any thoughts on other balls I should consider for accuracy of the tee?
Hi Gary! Thanks for giving the channel a chance and for your kind comments! If price was no object I’d play Pro V1. Simply because I play it whenever I get a dozen for Christmas or birthdays and I seem to score well with them and all my testing suggests they are the number one ball for a reason. I do really like the Bridgestone Tour B RX though in the ‘next price point down’ category. In truth I don’t think there’s many bad balls out there and I really see some good performance in every ball! I do love a 2 piece ionemer ball for the winter too when a few extra yards of carry is welcome and when you don’t need the spin to stop on the soft greens! I also thin Srixon balls are massively underrated! I did play TP5x for a few months about 3 years ago and did enjoy it off the tee - for the exact same reasons as you! Seemed to be quite straight and they perform great in wind (in my opinion!). I know that’s not a straight answer but hard to pick just one! Haha!
