As a Boyscout, here is some advise. Crush the snacks up into a powder so the parts are easier to catch on fire. Plus this may cause some oil to seep out making it light better.

Conclusion: If you want something that burns really hot go with funyuns. If you want something that will withstand some wind use Cheetos, or Doritos. Also stay away from potato based chips as they do not burn as well as corn.

Just fyi, "firestarter" is not the same as "tinder." A firestarter is merely an extremely flammable substance that holds a big flame, tinder catches easily but burns out quickly. How about household tinder? I've personally found that homemade charcloth mixed with dryer lint is outrageously good, one to two strikes will get it going fast. But what's the best possible homemade tinder?

In my experience cottonballs soaked in Vaseline are the best, they light easily with a fire steel and burn for about 10 mins

Tyler, love your content! But I'd would like to see some different angles of attack or more tests during the process. i.e. in this scenario, weigh out equal parts of each chips (2oz or so). Light each with 1 match in the center, on a clean work bed (foil like you used) and time the burn time of each as well as the temp check you had done. Or with the wood glue clamp video, do 3 glue ups per item and average out your results.
