Austin itself is also pretty segregated. I've lived in different parts of the city and there are parts where no one speaks spanish and parts where everyone speaks spanish. The east side is the poor side (shocking, I know), and thats where the airport is so I'm not shocked you had trouble finding an english speaker in the store. One note I'd like to add about Germany. Germany is liberal in terms of adhering to positions which were defined as left-liberal at some point. However, apart from that it is an extremly confirmistic society where you better not be to vocal when supporting a minority opinion and the justice system is kinda... on paper the prosecutor needs to proof the defendant as guilty, but in practicallity in the court room the defendant needs to proof innocience. If the defendand succeeds in proofing his/her innocience they will offer to drop the case under conditions, like paying the court fees...

Just guessing. But the country with only 1 language has to be a mini country right that isn't a very popular migration destination right? Probably isn't in the former Soviet Union region either since there was so much population movement there. Also none of the colonized ones since there would be colonizers and natives. Maybe like Vatican City with Latin or San Marino with Italian? So small, isolated in terms of permanent migration, non colonized... maybe Qatar? This isn't easy haha.

As a Texan your mistaken. There isn't a single place in Texas that the majority of people don't speak and know English even in the areas that are 90% Latino. It's just that a ton of people speak Spanish as a first language. You wouldn't describe the border of Texas as Spanish speaking, but bilingual is a far better phrase to use. Only a few of the highlighted counties do the majority of people Speak Spanish better than they speak English, but the majority of those counties the population speaks both. Also sidenote, all of Texas was Latino. The areas with the most Latinos in the state today are Houston, RGV, Dallas, El Paso and San Antonio in no particular order. It's just that the core of Texas eventually had more white settlers move in there than the existing Latino and Native populations. But al of Texas, New Mexico and even a substantial part of Colorado have millions of Hispanic people who descend from the regions history as part of Mexico.

Wow, Brazil having more than 200 is quite over exaggerated too. I'd say 95% of the population speaks Portuguese. But I guess if you count Chinese, Japanese, German and Italian because of immigration and all of those indigenous languages up in the North, then maybe you could say it has indeed this many languages, but I've never met anyone that doesn't have Portuguese as first language

@@thomasgrabkowski8283 but no one lives in the Amazon, there are groups of natives who live there, very few, there are only a few cities but everyone speaks Portuguese

It is true for Mexico, there are pockets of hundreds of thousands and a few millions who speak their native language first and Spanish as their second language.

To be fair, as a German person, who is more "liberal" and doesn't support the CDU, Merkel would still be deep inside the Democrat's spectrum in the US. What the Republicans are sometimes proposing, even our alt-right & neonazis would shudder to suggest. But yes Bavaria is one of the more conservative areas in Germany. That would be CSU, not CDU though. Bavarian's like to pretend they aren't truely part of the rest of Germany.

If I had to guess the only country with one language, it would probably be DPRK. Although, if linguists actually had access, they would probably find a continuum similar to that of other less developed nations. Maybe some of the more remote South Pacific island nations could be isolated enough to only have a single language as well. Like maybe Pitcairn Island (if that's the one I'm thinking of. The one with the stranded crew members from the Cook expedition.) Or even some remote islands in the Indian Ocean as well. Those are the only single language nations that I could possibly see.

My guess is San Marino. Unless their dialect of Italian counts as a second language. Thinking of it the same could be said about Liechtenstein (with German instead of Italian, of course). Now back to the video.

Chicago has the largest Polish diaspora community. Actually, it has more Polish people than Warsaw (Poland's capital city).

I can't believe I've watched so many minutes waiting for a one-word-answer that was announced in the title. And he still hasn't told us. And now he's saying "ex-cetera" ... I'm out, suddenly I'm not that interested anymore in which country has the most languages 😴😴😴

Most of the Latino’s I’ve meet are white if not Italian colored. Then again I grew up in a pretty nice area. Poorer Latinos basically look like native Americans, cuz they basically are.
