@Christy Risinger, MD. Thank you Dr. Risinger for going over these 3 at-home CV tests along with the pros and cons. The last test while pretty accurate relies on too much technology that can cause problems. I agree with you that the Binax Now test seems to be the best of the 3 tests you covered. Keeping you and your family in my daily prayers.
I purchased an Ellume home test today and the only required fields were birthdate, state, and zipcode. It does ask for a lot more information, but most of it is optional to provide. I'm not sure if they changed that recently or not. The app indicates that they ask for your email address so that you can easily share a test result with your doctor or employer, but it's not required.
Thank you so much for this information. Just happens I purchased 4 Binax Now tests today at Walgreens for future use. It was the only choice my Walgreens had. So happy I was not fooled into Ellume as that one is way too complicated for what I am prepared to do!
Thank you for your thorough review of these home test kits. Is there anyway to get a results document to give to a business asking for printed results?
I’m on my second day of symptoms and I have a 99.9 degree fever with fatigue and a little phlegm. I took two tests and they were negative. I have work on Saturday and don’t know what to do. My employer isn’t very understanding. I almost want to test positive so I don’t have to spread germs.
I still use a flip phone and hate it when I am required to have a smartphone for things like this. Dr Risinger presented a lot of good information in a very short time. I appreciate her trying to help people very much.
Good video, I just tested positive with the binax NOW test and I will test again in 3 days. Have a high fever and slight cough. Coming from Branson Missouri, the hot spot!
So it will be day 4 for me tomorrow if being home from trip. I have a headache that’s it so far. So 2 days after you got home you had the fever? Sorry I’m just so worried and wonder how long after being home I have to show symptoms . I’m gonna pick up the test tomorrow to take from my local CVS hoping it’s accurate and I’m negative for both tests in the kit 🤞
@@michellemybelle7069 Sunday I had a headache and fever that was the day I returned from a 2 day stay. Also I took the test and then got retested at the clinic next day. Covid sucks and it took a long time to get my strength back.
Thanks for the info. Praying you are feeling better. This Covid crap needs to go away🤦🏻♀️ I’m not really showing signs but headache and feeling off. The list of symptoms is a million miles long if you read them tho. My mom has grade 4 Copd so I’ve quarantined from her but gonna do the test tonight then in 3 days like stated before I go see her. Thanks again for the help
How about the QUIDEL QuickVUE OTC Covid-19 Test? It only takes 10 minutes for testing which will give you results within 15 minutes. It too comes with two tests to serial test within 24-36hrs.
I like the Binax and bought one however my only problem was I couldn’t get the drops in correctly on the card. Probably just me and o will try it again but that was my personal experience a couple months ago.
Dear Dr. Christie just one quick question on to the test you showed the swab I will leave my name so that if you understand the question or don’t understand the question you can clarify by contacting me but it is the most important question you’ve been asked in the last 18 months the cotton swabs the test swabs where do they come from ? name gerard eppig
Hi Dr. Risinger, I appreciate your videos but I was surprised by your unequivocal endorsement of the PCR test. There's lots of scientific literature pointing out that there currently are no national standards for conducting the test. At low cycles, 20-25, the test is considered accurate. But labs often use higher cycles, 30-45 and with each increase the accuracy of the test falls off considerably. Even the founder of PCR, Dr. Kerry Mullis said before his death that PCR was designed for research, not a medical diagnosis. The reason was because depending on where you set the test parameters you can get a positive even for a viral particle from a cold that the patient might have had weeks ago. Here's another example. Last year 700 NFL players tested positive and were quarantined from their teammates and family. None developed Covid-19. What are the odds that 700 randomly chosen people would all become "asymptotic carriers?" My guess is that even with the very speculative science on asymptomatic carriers that it's highly improbable that 100% of that group that size would all be asymptomatic. The only explanation is many (how many we don't know 50%, 80%?) were false positives.
I tested with the binax now it was blazing positive the line is super dark. My sons test was faint but positive. I am not paying $100 for testing geez. Why can't the tests be used on an 8 month old???
Great question. For the kits I bought for this video, the Binax now shows the reagent tray expires 12/4/2021. The Ellume analyzer expires 3/31/2022, and the EverlyWell swab expires 10/2022 and the reagent expires 10/2023.
Christy, the first home is not an at home test. It’s only the sample that’s taken at home. PCR tests are not 100 percent reliable. I can do quicker PCR test at a lab
Anyone addressing the sodium azide in the solution? With such a deadly chemical I would think there would be more warnings especially considering how it is likely that people will bespilling these solution vials, absorb enough through your skin and it can kill you.
My Aunt found a kit with 50 tests for same price as the the single PCR test in Europe, our healthcare system is a joke. I wonder if you had traces of the virus in you're noise from breathing airport air would you show up as positive even if the amount of virus was so little you never got sick.
No a faint line is also a positive, just like pregnancy tests a faint line doesn’t mean your almost over it .. but most likely your not at the peak, also you can test positive weeks or months after having originally testing positive. However if you pass the 20 day period (admitted to the hospital) we no longer quarantine unless you are symptomatic.
Why can't they make a test that doesn't require contact . Why can't you spit in a cup or blow your nose in some way . 😳. I don't trust the contract as being safe ..
There are also doctors who are against the jabs and the tests. Having an MD next to your name doesn't mean anything nowadays...they are literally pill pushers and make money for the drug companies. They're not healers anymore sadly.
I have no symptoms (well I’m not counting getting chills for like 5mins and then going away) and I just took the blue box test. Came out negative. Will test again in 36hrs. I was vaccinated with Pfizer in December 2021
Will these home tests satisfy the requirements from airlines and cruise lines when showing them the results or should one go to a testing site instead?
When traveling you must have a verified result that you can show to officials. So not all of these. The cheap Binax antigen test would not be sufficient. The others would though. With the Ellume, you get a verified result on the app. And with Everlywell, you will get a verified result after you mail your sample and the lab tests it. Hope that helps you! :)
@@brendanlawrence3624 binax has a kit for travel. But you have to get it through emed.com. The store version is for private use. The eked version communicates results to the necessary series through an app.
I had a headache and couldn’t taste or smell, I don’t know if the symptoms I had were good but I didn’t have chest or coughing problems. Is it still positive for having COVID ?
@@_CEN50RD That’s good. Walgreens had the tiniest little section and they were sold out so I gotta try in the morning... Not sure if I got it or not. My head feels like its been rocking back and forth the last few days and now Im getting a slight sharp pain in my chest every so often.
I was exposed 2 days ago to someone that tested positive after coming to my house. I have a headaches and cough is it to early to take test after 2 days of being around someone that tested positive?
@@AntBeastin1991 I know you were joking hut I thought you thought he was seriously worried about the bite and not the baby and I thought you were making fun of him.
Just can't help get the feeling from this entire thing, how this is just all such a 'planned ScamDemic'. The doctor here, with her 'pleasant' saleslady voice.... telling you the Kit is 'Only........... A Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars. Jesus H. Christ. Capitalizing monetarily.....on Manufactured Fear. And you all 'bought into it'.
Just used this product today BinaxNow started with a lite cough and then had 102 fever for 2 days straight fever went away however the third day is when I started losing taste and smell slight cough which I still have and congested.. when I got the kit sure enough I tested positive my wife who is in Houston had not been home for 3 weeks and she got the exact same thing I did and I was in San Antonio so yeah this is no Joke and I'm glad I got this kit ohh free with my insurance too
