I worked for years with Adventist who kept telling me I was going to hell because I went to church on Sunday. Everyday is a good day to worship our Father. Thank you Dane for another great teaching!

Yes, the Seventh Day Adventist is the other side of this same coin, who insist that Saturday is the correct day. My argument would be the same to them as it would to those who believe Sunday is the preferred day. Dane

The danger of assigning one day of the week for fellowship and worship is that it makes it so easy to ignore the other six. Every day belongs to God.

He rose on the first day of the week. Our calendar that Saturday. Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. Matthew 28:1 NKJV

I left Christianity and now follow the BOOK. JESUS and the disciples kept the sabbath so will I. No one told us but Christian means follower of christ, so HE don't need to say anything we just follow.

This is easy, we do exactly as the apostles who knew and touched Christ did. Jesus said regarding the apostles: Luke 10:16 16 " He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me." The apostles say: 2 Thessalonians 2:15 15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.

Christians gather on Sunday due to the Catholic church under Constantine changing the scriptural Sabbath from the seventh day (Saturday) to Sunday because they wanted to separate themselves from the Jewish tradition. It eventually became law under penalty of death to worship on Sunday instead of Saturday. Also, Constantine mixed christianity with pagan practice (syncretism). That's how Christmas and Easter came about. He always remained a sun worshipper. A simple Google search will show that the Catholic church thought themselves above scripture and had the authority to change the Sabbath among other things. The Sabbath was never done away with. Nor has any commandment given been done away with. The word 'fulfilled' is misunderstood as something is completed, so we don't have to do it anymore. A better understanding is 'upheld'. Jesus upheld all the commandments, and we are to walk as He walked. Even the apostles and disciples continued keeping the Torah instructions after Jesus had risen and ascended. Acts records 85 times they kept the Sabbath. To say God has voided any of His commandments would mean He is doubleminded, therefore making Him untrustworthy.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Although Constantine possibly introduced a number of foreign things to Christianity, Sunday worship is not one of them. Note that the disciples were already gathering on Sunday (Acts 20:7 & 1 Cor. 16:2). Also, Justin Martyr wrote in the early Second Century that believers were gathering on "the day called Sunday" (Ante-Nicene Fathers: The Apostolic Fathers with Justin Martyr and Irenaeus, Vol. 1, Chapter LXVII). These records demonstrate that early Christians were gathering long before Constantine was even born. Dane

I believe every day is a great day to worship God! However, I am still a little confused over God saying to "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" and there is nothing in scripture that says God repealed that. Do you have thoughts on that?
@Featheredprop
@Featheredprop 2 года назад
Good question, Juanita. Yes, I have a few thoughts of keeping the Sabbath holy. Like many other Old Testament concepts, I believe that the Sabbath has been fulfilled in Christ. As we are joined to Christ in faith we enter into that fulfillment - we enter into that "rest" (Hebrews 4). Therefore, as believers we recognize that each day is how the Sabbath - each day is now elevated to being holy. Christ kept the Sabbath perfectly, and so we who are in Him enjoy those benefits by faith. Dane

@@Featheredprop Yes, I understand that, but what do you say to someone who says, "God didn't abolish the other commandments, why abolish this one?"
@Featheredprop
@Featheredprop 2 года назад
Great question! I would reply that I agree that Jesus didn't abolish any commands of God. As a matter of fact, He said so in Matt 5:17, " “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets..." Instead, Jesus said, "I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." There is a huge difference between abolishing a commandment (destroying it) and fulfilling it (bringing it to its rightful conclusion). Jesus said of Himself that all of the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms were fulfilled in Him (Luke 24:44). That means that Jesus fulfilled each of the Ten Commandments - revealing their fullest conclusion. The Apostle Paul seems to agree when he wrote that "therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." Romans 13:10. I hope this helps? Dane

Every day is a day of worship, but how do you read Deuteronomy 5, where the sabbath was seth aside, as a day of rest? Can every day in your opionion now be a day of rest?
@Featheredprop
@Featheredprop 2 года назад
This is a great question! As I understand the Sabbath it is now fulfilled in Jesus. Those of us who are "in" Christ have entered into 'His rest' (Heb 4:3). We can perpetually rest of our work in obtaining God's favor as Jesus accomplished this for us! So, every day I can now rest of those works because I am in Christ who did those works for me. Dane

f ONE TRUE RELIGION It is only logical that there would be one true religion. This is in harmony with the fact the true God is a God, "not of disorder, but of peace." (1 Corinthians 14:33) The Bible says that actually there is only "one faith." (Ephesians 4:5} Who, then, are the ones who form the body of true worshipers today? We do not hesitate to say that they are Jehovah's Witnesses.
