I'm a sophomore in highschool at the moment, but I've wanted to do this since 7th grade. I've done so much research, and I've learned so much without even being there yet ! but your channel has definitely helped the most, and I've only seen a handful of your videos.
Oh Riss, this is a great video. I just got accepted as a Custodian at WDW. This video is so important for us new guys, so thank you a lot! Hoping COVID Pandemic ends before August!
i absolutely love your channel! Im a senior in HS graduating soon and im hoping to apply this fall! i adore u and your honest yet fun videos! hope u get big soon
I just wanna say thank you for all your Disney and dcp videos! It’s definitely helping me keep thinking positively that I will actually get to go to my program this year lol (fingers crossed). So thanks for your lighthearted vids 💜
This is a great video! I can tell so much work went into this. I really loved your DCP vlogs and I love that you are using your experience to continue DCP-type videos! :)
I'm currently in high school but I'm already planning on applying for the DCP as soon as I can. I haven't seen any of your videos before this one, but I am definitely going to watch more because this was such a helpful video and I just love your energy! This video was actually really interesting because I had thought that the roles I was most interested in were the ones that were under friendly/bubbly, but once you described the roles I realized that a lot of the roles I thought I was interested in were actually not that appealing. Children's activities for example, it sounds kind of fun and it sounds like something that might be relevant to the major I want to go into, but once you described it I realized that maybe that wasn't for me. It turns out that I think I'd be most suited for responsible and patient! Even the roles that seem like they might be boring like monorail/skyliner and front desk sound so appealing to me and sound like roles I would be good at and would enjoy. I do kind of want your advice on roles though! I know you said that you can be outside in any role, but I wanted to know which roles would you be least likely to be outside. I want to avoid being outside if at all possible, so what roles would you recommend choosing as interested to be most likely to be indoors? Thank you so much for making this video, and I will definitely be watching more!!
I love that your going back to Disney vids not that I don’t like your other vids. I would recommend attractions always because you make friends with other attractions cast members and you never have to wait in lines
Marissa Papapietro you didn’t make friends at your favorite attractions? I made friends at pirates Indiana Jones and star tours and the leads there and never waited at all I would just walk in.
Marissa Papapietro oh yeah I keep forgetting I know nothing about fancy Disney world lol come back to Disneyland break rooms they are so small because the park is so old our break rooms are usually the size of an old office room because space is so limited
I'm planning to apply for the upcoming semester, and this helped SO much!! I've been so stressed about having to be super bubbly because although that's my personality, I do like my alone time, so knowing there are more laid back roles eases a lot of my anxiety, thank you!!
Come June 21st I'll be headed over and whatever role I get I'll love. I hope it is not driving the trollies (gays can't drive and I am the prime example of that myth), but other than that I'm just excited. I requested a roommate already and he's super sweet, we have a lot in common, and your videos have been extremely fun but also puts things into perspective. Some people might think it's just a paid vacation, but no it's a job, we work, and your video have a very grounded sense to them. You just seem like an amazing person, and I hope you have an amazing, day, year, life
I was at Alien Swirling Saucers for my DCP and I wasn't super happy at first because I wanted Slinky or Mania but honestly Aliens is my baby and I love her so much! My little aliens are my life and I loved everyone I worked with so much and I wouldn't change it for anything! I would go back to Disney and work at Aliens in a heartbeat. Definitely keep an open mind in attractions because Disney may just surprise you and give you your forever home❤️
Could you recommend me some tips to improve my english conversational? I would like to work in a dcp but I don't feel so confident with my conversational english.
That’s just available as a part time or full time job! But you could probably apply for it right after your program. It’s super competitive and you’ll need lots of public speaking experience
hey marissa, love your videos! i’m waiting for my acceptance for spring ‘23 and attractions is my dream role! i was wondering, on spaceship earth, did you get to ride a lot before/after closing when guests weren’t there, or was there not really time for that? i think it would be so cool to do that!
someone has to do a ride through and the beginning and end of the day to make sure everything’s working :) also if a guest says something isn’t working, someone does a ride through to check
When you pick up a shift at a different park, for example, the park has its own "cast services" building, which is where the costuming department is located. They have everything organized based on work location and will help you choose the right costume before your shift :)
Most people take a semester off of school to do the dcp. You can possibly get credit for the program and any Disney classes you take depending on your college advisor (they decide). You can also take online classes with your college while on the dcp although it's difficult becuase the dcp is a full time job.
I'm not sure about certifications, but you must be able to speak English fluently! Here's the page that lists the requirements: jobs.disneycareers.com/cultural-exchange-program
I’ll be making a video on this soon! But you should try to go for jobs where you deal with customer service and working as a team. Also something that deals with saftey of your guests in any way
@@riss_papa yeah I was just wondering because I operate rides at the six flags near me and being in attractions would be my leading reason to do dcp haha
