Which Digimon Would Be An EVIL Royal Knights Team?

My main image when I think of the Royal Knights is of them acting as antagonists in Frontier and Savers, so it would be fun to see some kind of media with them acting as a main force of good against the likes of an evil counterpart like this.

Headcannon thought for the Royal Bastards, Gaiomon has major charactor development to find out who he really is just like Impmon in Tamers and Starscream from Transformers Armada

Royal Knights indeed are good guys who share the same final goal but fact that each of them follows their own brand of Justice is something to pay attention as their ideals are clashing

I love this! Sleipmon being paired with Nidhoggmon gave me real chills! Also Darkknightmon X has a lot of pink details, which would make his bulky armor look so cool in counterpart to Lordknightmon's sleeker design.

I'd definitely say Death-Xmon should be Alphamon's counterpart not Milleniummon. Milleniummon would work better for Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. They even have a relationship with Ken and Wormon being directly involved in stopping Milleniummon along side Ryo.

I think Lordknightmon has other feminine traits. It's quite skinny, with a waist to hip ratio more feminine than masculine if you ask me. Not that uncommon among humanoid digimon, but the masculine ones also have broad chest/shoulders to go along with it. Also the chest armor is protruding forward, adding to that more feminine overall shape

Regular DarkKnightmon could be placed as the rival of Magnamon, since neither is a Mega level normally but both reach that level in their X Antibody forms (or at least become Lv. 6 in the TCG)

Wow, I never thought about it before but I really like the parallels between duftmon and belphemon. The mode shifts but I also like how duftmon is very elegant and fast while belphemon is like a berserker. Cool choice

I personally would have made Craniamon's Counterpart be Shinegreymon Ruin Mode. This is mainly due to the fact that the continuity that Craniamon had the biggest role in was in Data Squad/Savers, and I believe is the only continuity where his shield is actually completely shattered by none other than Markus/Masaru himself. This could be cool comparison to where Markus/Masaru's mistakes take form to be Craniamon's Main Enemy. And with Craniamon being Yggdrasil's most loyal knight it makes sense for he to be the one to stand against the "sins" of the mortal who stood against their god most to the point where he laids his hands on the body of said god (aka beat the shit out of Yggdrasil in his Dad's body that one time). Though I realize this sounds like I'm making more of an arguement for Markus/Masaru being Craniamon's counterpart more than actual Ruin Mode.

I would honestly love to see a counter part to the Demon Lord's I know technically the Olympus 12 are supposed to be considered that but I feel like they need a true counter part

Love, Love, Love! Seven Demon Lords never really felt like an adequate counter to the Royal Knights Love the Digimon World 2 music!!!

I suddenly imagined a series where this team was a team of monsterous looking revels fighting to free the digital world from ygdrasil and his royal knights, I seriously now always imagine the knights as villains now

I was not expecting Nidhoggmon to be used here and part of me was confused when you brought it up, but wow I didn't realize how well that fit in with this idea. Absolutely love that. I would have never thought of that connection, kudos to you for making it.

When you brought up the knightmon logic about it being an x-antibody it reminded me of the movie as the royal nights actually were split on the x-antibody digimon. I feel it actually makes a lot of sense and fits nicely as an enemy.

Very nice picks for each Digimon, although if I may, I'd suggest that rather than Dark Knightmon X, Grey Knightsmon would fit more as Lord Knightmon's counterpart. Reasoning for this is the fact that 1, Grey Knightsmon looks considerably even more brutish than Lord Knightmon who gives off a more elegant aura, 2. Grey Knightsmon's penchant for mowing everything down fits nicely as a parallel to Lord Knightmon's overall ruthlessness and apathy to others, And 3. Both of them wield powerful weapons suited for charging and breaking defense. While Grey Knightmon's Drill Lance which can mow down anyone, regardless of defense, with his Greymon half having cannons that can fire flame tornadoes and dark shots, Lord Knightmon has a pile bunker, which in fiction is a retractable spike weapon created for piercing armor. Not to mention that in many stories featuring knights, they often have the goal of slaying the dragon, which are usually depicted as villains, for the greater good. So while Lord Knightmon, despite being the token amoral teammate, still has a sense of justice and resembles a more traditional knight in a way, Grey Knightsmon adds a hint of dark irony of both a knight that is willing to do anything for power as well as teaming up with a dragon to do so with his general appearance looking more like a dark lord/knight-dragon fusion. And also because Grey Knightsmon got a Reference Book page.

I feel like the opposite royal knights are the demon lords but this concept is fun too. Also glad you mentioned it because my first thought is the royal knights are kind of evil haha. They work on a cosmic scale on what's good for the digital world. They don't really care about individual lives they may save or destroy (barring Jessmon who is objectively heroic)

Something worth pointing out is a lot of Royal Knights (and RK adjacent digimon) share the same face/mouthplate/"fang" designs, and some EVIL Digimon have the same motif: Diaboromon and Arcadimon in particular. It can be hard to see in the bandai art since so much of it is low resolution, but some of it can be made out, and the "Diablomon's Counterattack Original Soundtrack" cover shows close up looks at Omnimon, Imperialdramon Paladin, and Diaboromon's faces too. There's actually other anatomical similarities between Omnimon and Diaboromon (both have a central chest gem, both have a similarly shaped torso, etc. Finally, in te X chroncile storyline, a Keramon X egg is adopted by Jesmon to raise as a Royal Knight. So I woulda picked Diaboromon for one.

“The Royal Fiends” comes to mind as a potential name for this group that’s suitably knight-design-looking neutral.

I know you're not really looking at the comments for ideas anymore but what about Geo/Rise/Shine equivalents for the rest of the Adventure digimon? Basically follow the same trend like Garurumon's would go Wolf/Werewolf/mecha wolf.

These are great. Plus, one cool thing about when the connections seem less obvious--due to lack of previous stories between them--is that it opens the possibility for plots within this "Evil Knights" story to build up those connections.

Great concept and fantastic picks! I can almost imagine the absolute spectacle it would be to pit this two groups against each other in any sort of digimon media. Also, as you yourself and other have commented the royal knigths or at leasy some of them are very often used as antagonist, even sometimes split in halves with some helping the protagonist and others being against them like in some videogames. It would actually be cool to have the royal knigths in all their glory band together to defend the digital world. Don't get me worng, I like the angle of them being "guardians of order, champions of Yggdrasil" meaning that if maintaning order or doing what Yggdrasil wants is messed up... well we have seen how that goes and it's cool, it;s just that it would be nice for them as a collective to be the good guys for once.

Wow! Great job! One idea I had was making Digimon that correspond with Implied Digimon or maybe even Digivolvutions beyond the Mega Level!

This was great to see as always, Karn! I found it quite interesting a concept to create an evil antithesis to a certain group. Thematically, I had quite enjoyed the choice of Tactimon for Gankoomon's evil rival, as well as Darknightmon/Darknightmon X Antibody for the evil counterpart to Lordknightmon. Both of those, I found especially effective and fitting as evil inversions to the respective Royal Knight members they are supposed to rival. Needless to say, per usual, I'd pretty well enjoyed viewing your content, and as always, I look forward to seeing what you come up with next! Best regards until then!

Gosh, I've always adored Black Imperialdramon Fighter Mode! It's such an underutilized mon. I think refining the Positron Laser into a laser sword to emphasize its more aggressive nature is such an inspired design decision. I always preferred the Fighter Mode's color-scheme to the Paladin Mode, yet I also like swords, so Black Imperialdramon Fighter Mode feels like the perfect compromise between the two.

I was thinking of making a group of Digimon specifically to counter the Royal Knights, and I'm glad to see some of them are on this list. Of course mine wasn't "Evil Counterparts," but more along the lines of "A group Alphamon put together in case the Royal Knights or Yggdrasil did go out of control." so I wasn't using obviously evil Digimon like Milleniumon or the 7 Demon Lords.

Didn't expect to hear "Ustabiaz" in 2023, but boy that takes me back to simpler times.

I absolutely love this concept, it's crazy that the anime or a game has not done this in any way

I like the the counterparts and can see the why on Belphemon and Lucemon, but I kinda wish there was no overlap with the Demon Lords as those have also been rivals to the Royal Knights. I do however do not know what I'd put in their place, so I can't really criticise either 😅

Gaioumon actually works really well for an opposite of Craniamon since in cyber sleuth you fight craniamon alongside Youko's Gaioumon

Great video! I love this idea and I’m very surprised this hasn’t been done in the digimon world yet. I know you don’t have a lot of material to work with but I feel like some of the picks don’t really fit. Like Lucimon shadowlord mode, Nidgoggmon and Belphemon. I know these were the only options. But they don’t feel right on this team. I would love to see a custom made AntiRoyal Knights team.

I got your reference immediately when you said Niddhoggmon, especially given that Sleipnir was Odin's horse! I barely know all that much about the Olympos XII, I actually missed Frigimon's line in Data Squad, referring to Merukimon as a member originally! Caught it the second time, once I was more familiar with them, albeit slightly! One positive about the pandemic, at least it let me catch up on a lot of Digimon Lore! Dark Souls Lore as well, now I come to it! Though, I suddenly can't help but think what Soulsborne-like Digimon would look like... I have weird thoughts sometimes...

I would really like to see a video about the D-Brigade. It could either be finding existing Digimons that you think would fit into the group like Ghilliedhumon and Vulturemon or a from of custom art video where you either make your own D-Brigade Digimons or maybe fuse some of them? Could also do you a lore video about them.

A few years ago I did had an idea for a series where some of the royal knights and some of the olympus 12 where reverted back to their digiegg forms after a serious confrontation between both groups, so the still battle damaged remaing members would chose human children to help bring back their companios to face an aproaching evil force that tricked then into fighting each other in the first place.

Fun idea. Royal Knights are cool but I like the 4 Digimon Dragon. What if Tamers got non-Biomerge mega form?

That's a really cool idea! Although you could say the Royal Knights have a groop of primary nemesees already in the Demon Lords, having a group that directly parallels them like this would be really nice. The Demon Lords already having a connection like that to the Royal Knights makes me think that they shouldn't be in consideration for a new group like this, but at the same time, we only got so much to work with, some overlap is probably impossible. I can't think of any others that could really change Belphemons place as an evil, freely mode-changing Digimon, for example. Although I feel BelialVamdemon should've found its way in there somehow as well. -Would the one that founded the group and parallel Imperialdramon Paladin Mode be Armageddomon, in an attempt to take revenge on the it?-

I love how magnamon was used for like a total of an episode and a half and made an appearance in the movie but that was it (i don't know if it appears again in later media for the show)

Maybe for the next fanart vid, you could go with new Digimon Groups based on mythology, folklore, mysticism, etc., like the Four Perils, Three Poisons, Western Zodiac, etc.?

The funny thing is that in my head canon, the Seven Great Demon Lords are the sworn enemies of the Royal Knights. This mainly came about because throughout the Digimon media, we've seen Royal Knight Digimon fighting against the Demon Lords (or at least it's been implied). Of course there's Dynasmon and Crusadermon aiding Lucemon in Frontier, but I highly doubt the two groups were really thought out back then.

I know is the comment most likely will not be seen but i absolutely love that the counter part of the royal knight that the name Beast of destructions is use for the group like knight are always depicted fighting monster or dragons putting the royal knights fight the beast or monsters of destructions (which match with a lot of the options Karn choose) would be cool

People always talk about Hurricane touchdown as the debut of the golden Digieggs and I’m glad someone actually called out Khimerimon, it actually irks me a lot that no one seems to remember Ken’s pet project bringing about the golden eggs 😂

My pick for the Royal Knights dark counterpart: Group name: Ignoble Lords of Justice 1. Alphamon ➡️➡️ Millenniummon series ⏩ both are supreme gods of time, both have other forms (alphamon being the ultimate good god mode of the dorugora for doru series while Justimon is the mega form of the fusion of monodramon and Millenniummon). Can be that his desire to meet his tamer causes him to join. 2. Omegamon ➡️➡️ Chaosmon ⏩ canonically is omegamon's rival, transcends both good and evil, both are dragon and beast fusion knights where the dragon sword is swapped for a beast sword and the beast cannon is swapped for a beast sword. Can be that his constant threat of existence erasure by yggdrasil causes him to join. 3. Ulforceveedramon ➡️➡️ Chronomon Destroy Mode ⏩ Ulforceveedramon Future Mode is a canonical super ultimate level digimon and so is Chronomon Destroy Mode and Holy Mode. Canonically is superior to a base Alphamon and with it being a holy bird digimon and Ulforceveedramon being a holy dragon I put him him. 4. Jesmon ➡️➡️ Bagramon ⏩ Even though Bagramon is a corruption of the angel Gabriel (an angel that never falls and remains loyal to the most high god) the biblical connotations are clear and because Lucemon already belongs to a group I'll take him. Founder of the group to enact it own justice after reforming it's old ways. 5. Gankoomon ➡️➡️ Shroudmon ⏩ Shroudmon is a digimon very, very similar to Gankoomon in that it is a being that uses it's fist for combat. Both digimon share the fact that they are designed based off of historical Japanese figures with Shroudmon based off of the asura demon and asura (violent path) martial arts while Gankoomon is based off of a stubborn Japanese father troup. Joins for greater power. 6. Duftmon ➡️➡️ Tactimon ⏩ both are known as tactical gods whose very presence on the battlefield guarantees their allies victory. Canonically beat Omegamon with Bagramon. His own justice and loyalty to Bagramon causes him to join. 7. Dukemon ➡️➡️ Arcturusmon ⏩ Both have holy counterparts to themselves but unlike Dukemon who seals away his inner darkness Arcturusmon merges with his inner light into Proximamon to demonstrate unfathomable holy and demonic powers that can instantly destroy and recreate the digital world. His justice is unknown at the moment but when he gains his light a magnificent being is born. 8. Sleipmon ➡️➡️ Rasenmon: Fury Mode ⏩ The mythical beasts. Rasenmon Fury Mode is the mythical beasts based off the nine tailed fox while Sleipmon is based off of the eight legged steed sleipnir. Overtaken by the emotions of others. 9. Magnamon➡️➡️ Darkkightmon ⏩ both are basically ultimate (perfect) level digimon that display power up to the mega and when they obtain the x-antibody they both become true mega (ultimate) level digimon with Darkkightmon X being canonically equivalent to both Barbamon X and Crusadermon X and he canonically managed to engage with the former two in a three-way battle before being interrupted by Duftmon X. Seeks his own brand of dark justice. 10. Craniummon ➡️➡️ Voltobautamon ⏩ Craniummon looks evil and when he gains the x-antibody is become even more sinister looking. Voltobautamon is actually pure evil and is canonically stronger than the 7 great demon lords. From just looking evil to being just pure evil he is the perfect candidate in my opinion to parallel Craniummon. Also, both have a skeleton motif to their designs . The Judas of the group hellbent on doing the most evil. 11. Dynasmon ➡️➡️ Plutomon ⏩ Dynas is the Latin translation of the Greco-Roman word for power, Pluto is also the Latin translation of the Greco-Roman word for wealth-giver and god of the underworld. Being digital gods having name etymologies based of of Greco-Roman mythology I place Plutomon as Dynasmon's counterpart. Can be that due to Jupitermon's refusal of letting it join the Olympos 12, and due to it canonically singlehandedly destroying its own digital world (illiad) and it's version of the royal knights (the Olympos 12) it joins this group in a new digital world to continue to enact its own brand of justice that the so called "lords of justice" deny it. 12. Crusadermon ➡️➡️ Eosmon: Ultimate ⏩ Even though Crusadermon is a male in the original source materials based off of the elegant man (like byakuya) the newer materials and dub place him as female due to his color. Due to that I think Eosmon: Ultimate is a good candidate to be here. 13. Examon ➡️➡️ Aegisdramon ⏩ Known to work with evil digimon as a part of the crack team. May be a jogress of two megas too like examon is a jogress of two megas. Dark justice is still justice. A short story on the basis of the group: In another digital world a group of exceptionally powerful mainly virus type digimon comes together to challenge status quo of the ruling class of 13 powerful digimon that maintain order and stability in this digital world. Gaining precedence from virus type digimon such as Grandiskuwagamon and Blackwargreymon, digimon who believe that the virus type digimon, which are usually depicted as evil digimon, can have their own brand of justice and can evolve past the status quo of viruses being purely evil. Though many of the members scheme for power or have joined to foil the notion of "virus justice" others have joined to see a change in the digital world for the better of all it's types and families of digital species. Lead by the wayward Bagramon, a powerful fallen angel demon lord that managed to survive the wrath of god, the very same Bagramon that tasted defeat at the hands of a fusion god, Bagramon this time around has seemingly learned from his past mistakes and seeks to instill order out of chaos. With the genuine hope of making the digital world a better and more peaceful place, even for viruses, Bagramon still finds himself going about things in a nefarious manner proving the old proverbial phrase true "old habits die hard."

1:56 - There's was a black variation of Magnamon in ReaRise, its called Magnamon Battle Park. 4:05 - GreyKnightsmon is the (not-X-Antibody) Mega form of DarkKnightmon, you could have used it instead.

I really hope to see the Megidramon/Chaosgallantmon theory explored in a game or anime one day.

A good name for this Evil Round Table imho would be "The Foul League" not only it sounds cool and ominous, but also gives the idea of the darkness the mons in there exude

Love the video and cool choices for the Royal Knight counterparts, however, there are some I would change. Here is my list of the ones I changed. I also didn't use any seven deadly sins. 1. Magnamon=Regulusmon; Both are not megas and are dragons 2. Dynasmon=Piedmon: They are both wizards of sorts 3. Crusadermon=Greyknightsmon; Crusadermon rides a dragon into battle that flies and Greyknightsmon is a knight fused with a dragon and can attack aerial enemies 4. Examon=Millenniumon; Both are large dragons of sorts 5. Leopardmon=Tactimon; The Tacticians of the group 6. Gankoomon=Blastmon; a battle of fists 7. Alphamon=Boltboutamon; Ultimate good versus ultimate/ most evil 8. UlforceVeedramon=Tyrant Kabuterimon; How well does the one of the fastest digimon deal with an army bugs and forest. Also, wormmon goes evil.

I like the idea, but I made a ''New Royal Knights'' like an ''Young Justice'' or Avengers, I made a team of: Omegashoutmon Omegamon Goldrapidmon Magnamon Bloomlordmon Lordknightmon Dominimon Cressgarurumon MirageGaogamon Dukemon Diarbitmon Duftmon Hexeblaumon Yeagerdorulumon some of then work like a counterpart of the original RK but others are just new Knights. The group is not complete yet, but with time I add more heheh

I don't have my team, yet, but I think, narratively thinking, I'd go for alternative digivolutions. One of the most amazing parts of digimon is how each digimon can branch into many directions

Huh, well, this was a very interesting Video and not at all what I was expecting, I thought you would give them their own Zwart variants, but this was way more interesting, though it seems like you ended up using members from different Groups to make this lineup, though I guess it’s fine, So, do you plan to do something like this for other Groups too? If so, I would like to see what you come up with.

I feel like the demon lords are the enemies od the royal knights but I do like your idea base on their symbolism and power.

I and a few others actually created a group that's literally the anti-RK's, called "Ignoble Knaves". Here are the few members we came up with: 1) DarkKnightmon 2) Zanbaramon 3) Dorbickmon 4) Tactimon 5) Chronomon Destroyer Mode 6) Arcturusmon 7) Chaos Dukemon or Megidramon 8) Shroudmon 9) ExoGrimmon 10) GigaSeadramon 11) GranKuwagamon 12) Ornismon

I mentioned this in a few of the comments for some of the previous videos. Still, I think it could be interesting to see a collection of music-themed Mega/Ultimate level Digimon that is quite literally a band that got that way in a manner similar to the Bancho Digimon got their status as Banchos. Quick reminder, all the members of the Bancho team got their status and rank by taking part in near-constant fighting and refusing to concede or give up the fight; the concept I'm thinking of would work on the idea where a Digimon gets this musical band status by staying constantly immersed in literal musical data of a given genre for all of, or most of, their stages and evolution. Using the Adventure partner Digimon as an example, we could have things like Rockin'Greymon (who has immersed so much in the collective data of the Rock and Roll genre), Punk Garurumon (having immersed itself in the data of the Punk genre), TechonoKaburtarimon (having immersed itself in the data of the Techno genre), JazzBirdramon (having immersed itself in the Jazz genre of music), MetaliIkakkumon (having immersed itself in the Viking Metal genre of music), SalsaTogemon (having immersed itself in the Salsa genre of music), ChoirAngemon (having immersed itself in the data for Choir music), and PopGatomon (having immersed itself in the Pop genre of music, most likely J-Pop was the vast majority of those data packets it immersed itself in). The idea is that even though each of them draws power from a different genre of music, they still came together as a team in the form of a band and are going around the Digital world inspiring other Digimon with their music and using their powerful music-based attacks to deal with anyone that is causing trouble on and off the stage.

I probably would've chosen Dorugoramon or DexDorugoramon for the Alphamon slot but beside that I 100% agree with this list

If I might suggest it, I'd love to see your take on the group that Medievil Dukemon was meant to lead It was never made as far as I'm aware in the series officially so I'd love to see it sometime down the line

I'm the only one that'd ever ask for it but straw hats digimon partners would be a cool video for around the time the massive wano arc ends in the anime this year

I really liked a lot of these picks. Tactimon was a great surprise. I would also say if magnamon gets a pass as not a mega lvl, blacknightmin can too. I also would have picked grandracmon instead of belphamon, mostly since I don’t like great demon lords as picks.

We should discuss the other spirits having transcendent forms like EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon.

I came up with a similar idea a while ago, but the difference being Royal Knights would split into separate factions and then recruit new members to refill their ranks. That way, both sides (or more if some were neutral) would feel they are in the right about their ideologies. One member I would choose for my Evil Royal Knights is KingChessmon, as a counter to Duftmon or LordKnightmon. He has the strategic mind but less power as a mega level, so of course he would have his Chessmon army with QueenChessmon as his muscle.

Interesting choices. This got me thinking, would you be interested in expanding the Angel Guardians Digimon numbers and seeing which one bests matches up against the Demon Lords?

i actuly think seeing a jogress of the royal knights would be cool at some point or fusions eather between 2 or all like with alpha mon and omegamon would be interesting becasue its a case of them being the same but different

I think a cool concept would be counter parts to the origanal digi destined. Where they fight for good and justice for the digital world having some digital tamers and digimon fighting against them instead of just the digimon. like ken but not controled by anything but there own will to do bad

My favorite is the 7 demon lord digimon it would be cool to see that like the seven heavenly virtues compared to the seven sins would be a cool concept

A fun idea to do later could maybe be the Death Generals I just think an inverse of them could be really fun and the idea of a “Life Generals” type name just makes me Laugh 😂😂😂

In a vacuum each of them is very fitting and "dark counterpart" -ish to each corresponding Knights in terms of design, but it's hard to imagine them working together as their own group. Maybe make a part 2 video that discusses their possible goals or a mission that makes sense. Otherwise they each feel like they only work as separate rivals specific to each corresponding RK and not really a working group by themselves

I cool name i thought of for this rival group would be the Regicidal Anarchists. Regicide is a word for killing the king and anarchists being against the government. Might be a bit too complex but I figured there are individual Digimon with more complicated names than this
