Which dual sport is for you: KTM 500, 690 or Yamaha Ténéré 700? 

I have no motivation to ride hours on end on tarmac to an off road trail. I prefer loading up my dual sport 500 and eating up the road miles in my minivan lounge chair and coffee and music. Unloading and enjoying the dual sport much closer to the actual trail. I had the 690 Enduro and didnt enjoy the gearing. Perhaps My way of adventure is pack up the minivan and campout at camping areas then enjoy the trails on my light dual sport. I think its the best of both worlds. My butt and back thanks me and having a minivan for the night if needed helps with boondocking when needed. If I do need to camp I can strap some light camping gear on my 500.

I wanted more of the acting. I enjoyed it very much when you were in character. I think the way you guys produce this video was one of the most enjoyable I have ever seen on RU-vid. It was very satisfying to watch. I have a 690 myself, and I watch everything that pops up about it. The British accent were fantastic. I thought you were British until you broke character. I was 13 when I learned to ride. It was a Yamaha tw200. Bullproof fat slow beast. I learned on all kinds of terrain. Made me very confident. Id love to be on the T7 but that’s because I am bias.

Just finished a weekend in Big Bear, then a 10 hour drive to Yosemite fully loaded with saddle bags on a 2020 690. In my scenario the 500 would have blown off the road from the wind in the desert and struggled up hill with the luggage. I would also have to do an oil change on the way back with the 500. No quick shifter or blipper, no cush drive, no counter balancers, ouch. If single track is the goal, why stop at the 500? Go for a 2 stroke.

For me and how and where I ride it's the 690.

I love noisy powerful naked bikes like the MV brutale, the ducati streetfighter, but no type of riding gives you freedom and adventure like enduro and cross country riding

These are the 3 bikes i'm thinking but the weight of the T7 is turning me off. The fact that i have to open de 500's motor on 200 hours is turning me off. The lack of confidence in the overall quality of the 690 is also a turn off. If only the japaneese manufacters would solve this problem with a lightweight good looking bullit proof bike!

The hobbit trail answered your question. Street bikes belong on the street and who wants to ride three hours to a trail and then ride that same bike another three hours off road? But great job hilarious video.

I leaning towards a 690 , I have a Africa twin that is too heavy and a Klx300 that is too underpowered , I ride fire roads two tracks, dirt roads and bdrs, and 15 miles back and forth to work and 50 to 100miles of pavement to go ride off road! Just wanting one bike, any suggestions!

The new 690 has 74 Hp and a new balance shaft, so less vibes than the old one. Watching the 500 follow the T7, give me the 500 everyday there is dirt. Lack of Weight is everything in the dirt. One other thing, the 690 is a disaster in a real enduro- way too heavy. Leave those to the 450/500’s
