In Czechia, a poll by MEDIAN found that 30% of the population supported Israel outright, 22% supported Israel's offensive to put down Hamas but found their methods excessive, 10% did not support Israels's actions if/because they resulted in danger to civilians, and 7% did not support any Israeli action at all. 31% did not want to respond or did not feel they were knowledgeable enough of the conflict to have a side in the issue. small point of fact: the freedom party of austria doesn't have "neo-nazi roots". those are just regular nazi roots. original flavor, classic nazis, freshly re-integrated into polite society after (a) coming home from being prisoners of war in the late 1940s, and later (b) being allowed to vote again, founded the FPÖ, then called "VdU" ("verband der unabhängigen", "association of independents").

@stefan-schmitzer
@stefan-schmitzer 6 месяцев назад
@@lt2064 indeed, all currently living nazis, except for some few very old guys, are by necessity NEO-nazis. | my point was with tl;dr's usage of the word "roots". to say that a party has "neo-nazi roots" seems to me to mean that it's foundation was laid by NEO-nazis some time after the original nazis were defeated - meaning: no direct continuity to the murderers of yore. but in reality, such direct, institutional continuity DOES exist. the fpö is the direct institutional inheritor of the austrian branch of the nazi-party as seen in history textbooks. making them not so much "yet worse" as "yet uglier".

The big problem is that most "Jews" today that embrace the secular anti-Christ "Zionist" state of 'Israel', are descendants of Edomite, Khazar and even Canaanite proslytes to Judaism i.e. they are not blood descendants of Judah, or even any of the other Tribes of Israel. The Romans expelled most of the 'Jews' from Palestine after 70 AD. The Bible prophesies that the Edomites who comprised most of the inhabitants of Judea at the time of Christ, would return and "despitefully" steal His land: "‭I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,‭ ‭And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.‭ ‭Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.‭ ‭And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel." (Malachi 1:1-5) They are Zionist Edomite proslytes, not Israelites. There are "Jews" that are anti-Zionist who may be blind Israelites, but most of His sheep have heard His voice and followed Him over the centuries. Like with the Northern Kingdom "Israel", most of the Southern Kingdom "Jews" were also taken into Assyrian captivity - never to return. Only Jerusalem itself was spared, to later go into Babylonian captivity for 70 years. The lost Northern Kingdom "Israel" and lost Southern Kingdom "Jews" of "Judah" in Judea, 'disappeared' into history. These two "sticks" have become one in His (Christ's) hand and are called by His name (Christians). The remnant tenth He left behind in the land, witnessed Christ and his ministry firsthand. Many converted and later fled Jerusalem when they remembered His prophesy of it's destruction with the Temple. There is a tiny remnant of "Jews" and descendants of David in Jerusalem, as He promised - only He really knows who they are. Christ is anti-Zionist because Zionists are anti-Christ ! Zionism and Christianity are diametrically opposed and therefore "Christian Zionists" are "oxymorons" 🥴 The Israelites comprised 12 Tribes. Not all Israelites are "Jews" and not all "Jews" are Israelites - study the Bible and study history. The Tribe of Judah are not all of Israel and few "Jews" today are even Israelites, but are descendants of proselytes, including Canaanite proselytes ! See Revelations 2:9 & 3:9 Yahweh's unconditional promises to the "Lost Tribes of Israel" still apply - they have and are still being fulfilled in their descendants up to today and in the future ! Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.‭ (Matthew 23:15) And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them. (Esther 8:17) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.‭ (Revelations 2:9) Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.‭ (Revelations 3:9) The Bible also prophesies that the Edomite proselytes would despitefully steal His land. The Maccabees conquered and forcably converted the Edomites to become 'Jews' before the time of Christ. The Edomites have now stolen His land, as prophesied in the Bible, and are calling it "Israel" ! These Edumeans throughout the Western world, will soon be rewarded according to Obediah 1-18 Those that escape will flee to their fake 'Israel' where they will plan their revenge on the West. They will use their fellow Idumeans controlling the East to invade the "Lost Tribes of Israel" in the Western World. We will fearfully watch the massive Russian Tarter and Eastern Hordes approach Europe in their many millions. However, as they near Europe north of Edomite 'Israel', the Bible says that Yahweh will erupt from Mount Seir south of 'Israel' in the heart of Edom itself. Turning to defend 'Israel' from this "whirlwind of the south", this massive army will meet it's demise in the Valley of Armageddon - after Jerusalem is already liberated from the Edumean Anti-Christ persecuting Jerusalem's resident Christians

Ireland is the only exception to this rule because the ruling coalition is not left wing, it’s very much a centrist liberal capitalist affair. It seems weird to call Leo Varadkar comparing Israel to Russia “restrained” but it’s a LOT nicer than the left wing nationalist party Sinn Féin’s stance - which basically says that Israel is engaging in downright genocide, and armed resistance to the Israeli army is both justified and necessary. They condemn Hamas because Hamas are terrorists who attacked civilians, but if they had limited themselves to military targets there would have been nothing wrong with that. Btw - Ireland is one of very few countries in Europe which was *not* a colonial power, it was only ever a colony to the U.K, and the current state of the country stemmed from a bloody war of independence against the British occupation. So when you put Irish historical context into this - nothing Sinn Fein is saying comes across as extreme to an Irish listener.

The Irish people's though do have a history of colonialism. They terrorized coastal Wales and we can only assume genocided the local Pictish people of Scotland, replacing them with Scottish Gaels. The very name of Scotland comes from the Irish Scotti tribe which moved there from Northern Ireland. The fact that what Sin Fein says is not extreme is the worrying part of Irish politics and why we can not trust or rely on Ireland to do anything. Some of the scummiest politics in Europe. Terrorist sympathizers all the way.

It’s really disappointing to see another media outlet break this down to 2 sides / us v them. The Irish, I believe, have a much more nuanced understanding of life in general, than the what American life has tried to push on the world whereby there is only two sides of a coin and you must choose. The Irish stance in Palestine is not just what the political class / government say; but is driven by wider public. It is reductionist to absurdity saying Irish are pro-Palestine for some historical colonial underdog reason. At one time Ireland was pro-Israel. Ireland might have ‘lost its religion’ but it remains true to what it believes is morally right. At such time that Israel started a campaign to annihilate Palestinian people the Irish called that out as wrong - as they did with s.African apartheid when much of the world ignored it. The Irish do not support Hamas, but do not deny similarities in defending their own existence when human rights are ignored, yet know through experience that only through talking can a route to peace be found.

The Irish are not some sort of enlightened people, they are petty and only side with people when those people are against the West while claiming all the benefits of being a developed western country that acts as a state sized benefit scrounger, it's barely a country with it's economy and military being overseen by foreign states. I think you and i imagine the Irish are mixing up a belief of being enlightened with the reality in that it is actually a culture of weakness, victimhood and self-righteousness. I can't take any countries seriously when their entire foreign agenda is short erm moral grandstanding. This dichotomy of "Pro-Israel" vs "Pro-Palestine" is a bit to simplistic in my view, and that's not necessarily a fault of this video being tl;dr, it sadly is how the public often thinks. But this dichotomy is wrong. As you see at 5:06, for example, with the exception of Hungary (and Czechia who abstained), all European countries denounce the west bank settlements and it is official EU policy to boycott the settlements. Germany, while being "pro-Israel" provides a lot of aid to the UN missions, and Czechia, like all Eastern European countries, has mutual diplomatic relations with the state of Palestine that no western European country currently recognizes, including Spain, Ireland or Luxembourg. A more nuanced view of the issue could break the hostility on the diplomatic stage and open up negotiations etc.

It's their mess not ours, we are just pulled into it.
@Empobaer
@Empobaer 6 месяцев назад
I mean being against the settlements in the West Bank really isn't a controversial anti-israel position and the legitimacy of the settlements are controversial within Israel's society. Also, calling Israel to cool down and moderate their war efforts in Gaza for the safety of the civilians in Gaza isn't necessarily an anti-israel position. However, calling for a ceasefire, which will give Hamas enough time to breath and regroup, and somehow rejects Israel's right to defend itself clearly is an anti-israel position. I would say in this current military conflict of 2023 it boils down to, whether a foreign government supports the legitimacy of Israel to militarily attack Gaza after the events of the 7th of October. Based on that a gonverment can be classified as pro-israel or pro-palestinian. There is not a lot of space for neutral "in-between" positions.

@@BesthinktwiceI wouldn't necessarily call it genocide in the sense of the Holocaust or Holodomor as the goal isn't the literal extermination of people as individuals. However it is perhaps an example of cultural destruction and forced assimilation if reports are to be believed. Many of the reports suggest that they are sending young adults to "training centers" that resemble the residential schools for indigenous peoples in 20th century North America. While trying to extinguish a cultural legacy is still a horrible project and could be called a "cultural genocide" it is not on the same level as the death camps used against the Armenians in World War I or the deliberate denial of food aid used against the Irish in the Great Hunger. Instead it heavily mirrors the actions of the US and Canada used against indigenous peoples as recently as 1996. While it is likely China is committing human rights abuses, the level of those abuses is more akin to that of the US and Canada in the 1970s. We should still condemn China's actions, but using accurate language also forces us to realize that we in the West have committed similar atrocities very recently and need to be vigilant about the human rights abuses committed on our shores.

Ireland as a people supports Palestine for reasons beyond left/right divide but even then that divide is clear in the degree of support. I sometimes wonder if the right leaning parties are only saying they support Palestine because they know that is the popular opinion of the general public and they don't want to throw away votes because when it comes to doing anything other than talk they often fall short and fail to achieve anything significant.

In a lot of ways, statements made by e.g. Deborah Feldman (an Israeli woman who is famous for being ex-Haredim and who has written a memoir about it titled "Unorthodox", which was also made into a Netflix miniseries, and who is now a German citizen) rings true to a lot of the right-wing (note: not center-right) support for Israel: they have no problems with Jews as long as they aren't living in THEIR countries, and additionally anti-Muslim and anti-Arab sentiments are also shared by the European right-wing and the Israeli right-wing.
@Chrischi4598
@Chrischi4598 6 месяцев назад
Deborah Feldman is widely criticized by both the public and especially Jewish communities in Germany and does not represent them. She even said that you are safe as a Jew in Germany (except if you criticize Israel) which is not the case at all. Jewish citizens in Germany often fear showing publicly their faith (especially in neighborhoods with large Muslim populations). Migratory antisemitism is a big problem and needs to be addressed!
@henrybn14ar
@henrybn14ar 6 месяцев назад
Islam itself is an extreme right wing movement. All genuinely liberal people find it abhorrent. Anti Arab sentiment is fuelled by the behaviour of the Arabs themselves. You don't get much anti Chinese or a anti Vietnamese or anti Korean or anti Thai sentiment. People are also learning to distinguish between Christian Arabs and Muslim ones. A minority of Muslims can be serious trouble. We would not have all that trouble with airport security if it was not for them.
@Vaati1992
@Vaati1992 6 месяцев назад
@@Chrischi4598 You are misrepresenting her point: she referred to acceptance in Germany by Germans at large, and she has frequently stated that yes, Jews right now especially don't feel safe, including Jews who critize Israel. She has also at lengths spoken about how Germany needs to do more to protect Jews right now, not just place police near synagogues. Jews in Germany are very diverse and have a wide range of experiences. It's not right to label Jews who critize Israel strongly as "not representing Jewish communities in Germany" when they do exist and are clearly visible enough, even if they form a minority within the Jewish community here. Also yes, antisemitism is of course a problem in a bunch of Muslim communities in EU countries, and given the lack of a prospect for peace in the Israel-Palestine question, working to REDUCE that, which is possible, is harder. Especially since traditional Holocaust remembrance culture in Europe has been proven to not work/is not intended for Muslim Europeans (both due to a combination of Muslims feeling more fear of becoming victims in a new ethnic cleansing campaign as an unwelcome minority, and the focus of tours and educational material on applicability to the descendants of the perpetrators).

This is a comment I made here to someone who also tried to create some kind of symmetry, and I ask you here, are you not ashamed to create this symmetry of terror? The terrorists here are Hamas, which enjoys the support of the Palestinian people and leadership, Israel does not use terrorism. Have you ever seen an army in war that transfers incubators to rescue the enemy's babies?? I don't mean to offend, but you are simply showing ignorance here, which the truth is typical of many people like us from Western countries. And this is the response: I'm sorry to tell you, but you are showing ignorance here, there is simply no other definition. Any attempt to create some kind of symmetry between Israel and Hamas, and even the Palestinians in general, is simply shameful. The Hamas terrorists, together with crowds of 'innocent' Gaza residents, entered Israel on 07.10, and committed atrocities, murder and abuse of the murdered and their bodies in every way you can imagine, including baking a baby in an oven at 400°!! So how can you compare?? And this is without mentioning the hundreds of men and women who were abducted to the Gaza Strip, including babies, children and the elderly, and of course without mentioning the celebrations and displays of joy over the massacre that were seen throughout Gaza and the West Bank cities, have you ever seen people celebrating a murder? And they are the human ones... It's time for you to simply understand who the parties are here, an enlightened and educated, democratic and moral country is standing here, against a people and I'm sorry I hurt someone, but this is the reality, of murderers and barbarians. And it's not racism, because I'm not saying they can't be good, I'm just saying they need to change! And without this, they will never gain independence, because the only thing they focus on in the last decades, is hatred and killing, and thus it is impossible to build a country, it is impossible to build a future. You have to understand that any desire to grant them a state without sending it to the 'school of states' is a preordained failure, so wake up from your European naivety, and start to understand the Middle East, which today, is already completely a conflict that is in Europe, and still certain countries simply ignore the data and continue to give support to terrorism and its supporters. My message is simply that you wake up. Apologies for the length, it's out of pain.

Another aspect in regards to Germany is that we have ourselves a lot of displaced people and their offspring like my own which had to flee from eastern Prussia. 20 million ethnic Germans of eastern Europe were either killed or displaced after WW2. So while we can see the sentiments of the Palestinian diaspora we also can see how accepting that other people live now on our ancestral homelands and going forward with the status quo enabled reconciliation and continued peace. So we have a blue print stretching the exact same time period to how peaceful coexistence can be attained and hence have a lot less sympathy/ acceptance to the violence used by the Palestinian's cause. You have to bite into the sour apple in order to move on, it hurts and doesn't resolve the injustices you and your people have suffered, however it's the only way to break the devil's circle of violence. When I went with my grandpa a couple of years ago to oblast Kaliningrad the people that had to flee as children and the people that were moved in there as children fell into eachother's arms with tears in their eyes, both understanding and accepting the suffering the other had to endure.
