One of the biggest difference is SPACE. The Yukon’s 3rd row can fit people over 6ft comfortable and there is a lot more open space. Sequoia is very congested compared to it. I’m a huge toyota enthusiast, however the 3rd row in sequoia is a shame. Plus, people who buy $80k cars can afford its maintenance. Any vehicle maintained right will last. We drive on highways not jungles
GMC are nice. But it took 4 months of fighting with the warranty company and the dealer to my motor after the timing.g chain snapped at 41,000 miles. Then when they finally fixed it and called me to come pick it up, I was on my way when I received a call that the car wheels had locked u pon a test drive. So the truck had to be towed back to the repair shop. Transfer case went. Fixed it. At 51,000 miles, needed another transfer case. Got rid of that junk. Got my 2018 Toyota Sequoia and no problems at all. 100,000 miles and we getting rolling!!!
Your attitude is likely the issue here as well.... Most 6.2 issues are either due to bad lifter Batch, oversized bores ( under recall ) or simply bad owner maintenance.
The new Sequoia have a hybrid engine, it doesn't have any problems, the new Tundra have 2 engines, which is a non hybrid engine and a hybrid engine. The non hybrid engine is the one that has the issues people, please get y'all facts together.
That’s a lie get your facts straight !!! I got the 2024 sequoia trd pro it’s amazing!!!! Hybrid systems don’t have a recall either so where you getting your noise from???
I had high hopes for the new sequoia , but what really was a deal breaker was that damn storage area behind third row. I don’t know what they where thinking , but whole point of having large suv like that is to be able to haul people and items and that area behind third row in sequoia is ridiculous.
I had switched from an older basic Sierra to a 4Runner, loved the 4Runner. However, I got a camper, needed to be able to tow more than the 4Runner could; got back into a Sierra, an AT4. I now love my truck, but am still interested in the GX550…. I just have t warmed to neither the Sequoia nor the Tundra.
I have the last of the Yukon 2500’s. A 2013 with 190,000 miles on the odometer. Wouldn’t even consider doing an even trade for a 2024 Sequoia. I plan to be buried in it!
David despite all the talks around Toyota..I don’t care am still talking my Toyota over any GMC product all day..🤷🏾♂️ don’t know about you but that’s my take 😁
@@jasonme3557 🤷🏾♂️…I get because of all the issues being going on around Toyota now everyone is trying to run for the hills..but I’ll stay loyal…I’d rather go back to an old V8 from Toyota before I go to no Chevy 😁
I love the Sequoia, but the problem with it is that it has an identity crisis. Whats great about it it that with its light and powerful stance and tech package, can be a great offroad full size option. But the Toyota puts all this big and low body package on it and non removable seating for a daily driver that makes it difficult to outfit. So it is neither a great soccer mom vehicle nor a modable offroad package.
David, do you believe Toyota will change the battery location in the hybrid models? I think it takes up too much space. That is one of the reasons I didn’t buy one when I went to look at one.
The transition to V6 turbo engines is happening no matter what. Ford, jeep, nissan, toyota and their luxury brands have made the switch. It’s a matter of time, GMC and Chevrolet will change.
@@vtecondeck3065 The TX is not comparable as it is a CUV rather than an SUV. The LX is smaller than the Sequoia in every dimension, but is about the closest thing that Lexus offers.
The GM products are actually more reliable than the new toyota products. These GM big body trucks last forever.... We see them everywhere and every day here in Arizona.
They are Japanese and not Americans. Toyota focuses on smaller vehicles worldwide while GM and the big 3 focus on the American (China for Buick and Cadillac) market. The big 3 are used to making massive vehicles where Toyota is not and they have no interest in making a giant 8mpg vehicle just for North America.
@@djplonghead5403 They already make the Sequoia and Tundra just for the North American market. What is the difference between making these and a long wheelbase version?
@@rotaryenginepete no, just the vehicles’ designed lifespan. Obviously easy to exceed if well maintained, or reduced if abused. The other vehicle I mentioned (Land Cruiser) was designed for 350,000 miles on unimproved roads and many exceed this.
Bought sequoia TRD PRO 2024 yall are idiots!!! Bad boy runs crazy smooth zero issues! And V8 fan girls the engine in the Sequoia slaps yalls V8’s to dust. Great ride and amazing performance. What’s even better is resale value upholds compared to its competitors hands down. Problems are not with hybrid systems either so get talks facts straight.
@@rotaryenginepete it’s more then an engine that makes a car. Gm replaces lots of parts especially the timing chain and so many other Parts go wrong I’ll stick with Toyota
@@hermanpeters549 timing chain? I have several high mileage GM V8's and never a timing chain issue. But if you want to worry about "new" parts that grenade your engine, how about the oil sump on the Toyota 3.5L? 😂
@@rotaryenginepete that’s only one problem GM products doesn’t hold value and everywhere around the world knows about Toyota reliability. Malibu have a buy back program now because of their welding
GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate all day. If are buy a+$103k it had better feel and sound like something. The new QX80 is amazing. Bit with V6 twin turbos it will not get +$130k.
@@MarkR973 I have worked as a factory rep (District or Area Mgr) for both, GM and Toyota. One thing I learned in my time with each manufacturer is that Toyota leadership takes quality control issues quite personal. I have full faith they will get this engine bearing situation figured out and even extend the warranty schedule, when needed. It’s in their culture. Any twin turbo v6 produced from Feb 24 and after has the updated bearing. GM is having issues with their v8’s right now, too. If I were to buy a GM product right now, I would either get their 3.0 Duramax or their turbo 4 cylinder (as much as it pains me to type that).
@@SoonerMatt thanks appreciate the insight .... I've been looking at vehicles but hesitant due to what I'm hearing... also I don't need a car I've had my Avalon since buying new in 2012 as a 2011 leftover..
The days of Toyota and lexus being dominant are coming to an end as they cut costs on luxury vehicles and it shows in quality and in lack of options ...
Hi David, I trust your automotive knowledge and judgement. I am interested in the range rover suvs. I hear and read alot of bad things regarding quality and reliability. What are you thoughts about them. Am I better off going into a Lexus or BMW? I would TRULY APPRECIATE any feedback. Thank you :)
I would not buy either of those two. I like the Expedition more, although I no longer buy Ford vehicles. I used to own a Suburban, and while that truck was my wife's favorite, I also stopped buying GM products too.
U know what. We are all broke at the moment. We can only dream of those vehicles. U might be able to afford one of those, but forb the rest of us that vehicle is out of reach.
Still Toyota all day for me. GM’s have recalled the transmissions and that active fuel management lifter system is trash in the GMs. They are knocking too with very little miles on them. The older (pre2007) GM 5.3 and 6.0 were amazing, not anymore
Do yourself a quick search of new 6.2 and see what you come up with. And they (GM and Ford) just recalled the new 10spd trans they partnered up to build.
I heard of the new 6.2 engines blowing up at 62k miles on multiple cases. Watched a video of a tow truck- 3 brand new Chevy trucks with this engine, 1 Lyriq bricked with software, and a few old junk cars like a jeep Cherokee.
GM trucks have had a known lifter and transmission issues for more than a decade and they never rectified it. They keep failing in their newest models.
This video feels like a advertisement for the gm suv, that interior belongs in a 2010 vehicle, and without doubt the toyota will be more reliable, if it has issues now fear not, toyota will fix them.
