Hey there, just wanted to say thank you for this video, brother. Just turned 32, live in Utah, build custom furniture for a living . Got diagnosed with early stage sarcoma in both of my elbows, so I’m having surgery on both arms this year. The “beer league” team I was supposed to play on (Mid Ice Crisis Ducks) ended up making me the coach for the season. So thats the feel good story eh? However, I ended up buying two of the green biscuit snipes. After this video I’m kinda regretting it. But for me, it’s gonna be some pillow soft stick handling and passing for me in a parking lot by myself. Thanks for all your videos. They keep me hyped up when I cannot play currently, and may never play on a team again. Cheers!
Any review of the Roller puck they sell? It seems convenient for everything, was wondering if I should buy this one. They say: "The Green Biscuit™ Roller Hockey Puck is made for roller hockey games and off-ice training! Also made to practice your stick-handling, passing and shooting!"
I’m yet to try the roller on actual spots court, but it works pretty good on concrete. Such as at an outdoor rink. Concrete will wear down the little nubs to help it side. But it will still work and then would be good to use on asphalt. It’s just feels like a better green biscuit
very cool video ! i just have the normel green biscuit and its perfect ! do you think inline skating in the summer helps alot for becoming better at ice skating ?
It absolutely helps. As someone who plays both ice and roller the more time you spend on skate the better you get. Inline skating is very similar just the edge work is different but it still helps a lot
Oh yeah and stopping haha. It’s similar but you can’t cut into the ground like how you can cut into the ice so it’s slightly different. It’s your weight placement and the angle of your feet
I come from a long lineage of figure skaters (have 2 sisters and lots of female cousins) and I played ice at the highest youth level for 16 years, and I trained hardcore every day too. I played roller in my massive driveway anytime I wasn't on the ice and the driveway was clear enough (weather-wise). I am one of the strongest ice skaters and roller bladers on the planet. I even used to aggressive skate competitively for shits and giggles every now and again, and I could hit 1080s regularly + I could backflip. I'm telling you right now that ice skating and rollerblading are vastly different in one key area: The EDGES. On ice, picking up speed, turning, planting, and even coasting is all about your edges (sharpen those bad boys before you use your skates every single time). Rollerblading isn't about your edges, and it is way more forgiving, in the sense that on ice the same movements would put you off balance and on rollerblades you're fine. Rollerblading is great if you need help learning the basic bodily movements that you have to do to skate well. But, most people struggle with edges on ice. I've witnessed many good rollerbladers struggle on ice, and it's always because of the edges. So, if you want to simulate things the best you can, then just pretend there are 2 edges on each of your rollerblades, one inside and one outside. Then, when you want to accelerate, push off of them very quickly. Don't allow your wheels to actually settle and dig in the ground. Then, when you're doing crossovers (turning whilst maintaining speed or picking up speed), make every touch of your blades to the ground on your imaginary edges. If you do all that, you'll be well prepared for ice
How about the Pro for just using on the Sauce Kit with a shooting pad? That should slide well and hold up if just used for that, right? No passing, shooting, or hitting hard objects.
welcher puck ist dann am besten für tricks zum lernen also was ich weiss ist das den green biscuit normal für stickhandling gut eignet aber mit welchem puck soll ich tricks und der sommer pause üben ??
I have the snipe and use it pretty regularly and I don’t have any of the rolling issues everyone else does. Did I just get a better version? Also has anyone tried the green biscuit roller puck?
If its a snipe then its a snipe. That one slides just not very good. If you try the original you will notice a world of difference. Also I have tried the roller version after making this video and it slides really good on concrete but no so well on pavement. It holds up pretty good to
