In my opinion, people who advocate Socialism have an ideological utopia in their minds. They think that Socialism will bring equality between people, but if there is one thing that Socialism does effectively, it is to make people totally equal in misery. Just take a look at the countries where this system is implemented. Capitalism is far from perfect, but it is much better than Socialism

For me people who defend Socialism are contradictory because if you ask them if they would live in a Socialist country like Cuba, North Korea or Venezuela, they say No! But such people would like to live in the USA or the UK, where they would have freedom and a great quality of life. This for me has a name: Hypocrisy!

My answer is quite simple: If socialism were better than capitalism, people wouldn't risk their lives fleeing socialist countries. How many people died trying to cross the Berlin Wall, fleeing former socialist East Germany to capitalist East Germany? And how many people died trying to cross the ocean from Cuba to the United States?

There is a quote from Milton Friedman, an American economist, who says: “A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” That’s why capitalism for me is much better than socialism, although obviously it is not perfect.

I think socialism is better, because you have Free health care and this increases the living standards of those who cannot afford to pay private doctors. By improving the nation’s health it also contributes towards increased labour productivity and higher economic growth

I prefer Capitalism, because In socialism you have high tax rates that cause disincentives to work and setting up business. Entrepreneurs may feel that if the government is taking a high percentage of their profits, they would prefer not to take the risk or work abroad.

For me Socialism is better, because in Socialism you have the reduction of relative poverty. The state which provides a minimum basic income for those who are unemployed, sick or unable to work ,and maintains a basic living standard for the poorest in society

Socialism. Because Capitalism encourages attitudes to make profit - even if it is at the cost of other individuals or the environment. A socialist society does not pursue profit as its highest goal, but social cohesion and the common good.

Ideally, socialism aims at a more harmonious society. However, the socialist policies strengthen trade unions and put workers against owners, causing time lost to strikes and unproductive factories. Furthermore, the quality of life in socialist countries is very bad compared to capitalist countries

Capitalism is better because economic freedom helps political freedom. If governments own the means of production and set prices, it invariably leads to a centralized state and creates a large bureaucracy which may extend into other areas of life.

In a socialist country there is no democracy, the people cannot choose their ruler, who usually stays in power for decades or until he dies. There is also no freedom of thought. The media is controlled by the government, and even the internet is censored. In Capitalist countries you have freedom and democracy, which for me is better

Capitalism isn’t perfect, but in capitalism if you are willing to work hard, you will have the chance to conquer the things you dream of. In Socialist countries people don’t have the chance to choose their future and everyone is equal in poverty
