Getting a new player = woods ball Exciting that player = speedball Keeping that player = paintball

I am a scenario woodsball fan because oh how big the maps are I am able to sneak around and eliminate enemies from behind. Also.....I get to ..... SAVETHEPAINT!

Paintball in general, i play both, but i perfer more woodsball sense more people play that

If I had to choose a favorite it would be woodsball/scenario because thats when you can take your friends or siblings out for the first time without getting them just lumped every time they move. Woodsball provides little points of respite to grab a breath and figure out a plan of attack and break down what the other side is doing with your buddies

My favorite is Hyperball which is a cross between speedball and woodsball. Instead of inflatable bunkers it uses hard cover such as plastic pipes in various shapes and sizes. As I use a Cronus, this is perfect for me and my experience level because it doesn’t give players that use electric guns nearly as much advantage as in Speedball but it also needs more skill than woodsball which generally consists of rental players friendly firing their team mates...

I play almost all woodsball with a Tippmann m4 carbine mag fed TMC you do use mag fed markers on the speedball field Mag feed markers save tons of money

Thing I like about woodsball/bushball is the amount of time you're out on the field. Speedball, esp tourney's, you're out there for 10 minutes, blow through a case of paint then sit back in the pits and pod, debrief, clean guns/barrels.hoppers ect and then rinse and repeat for the next round and you do exactly the same thing on the field again. Very repetitive and quick. Bushball you head out for an hour, take half a case of paint in your harness (if you're not going magfed) and it's a slower paced game. Get hit, run back to the respawn, head back in and try something different. Get to use tactics and maneuvers and get to be a bit of a sneaky prick. The game finishes, you restock your pods, gas up and head to the next field for something new. You get to play with a lot of strangers and can get to make some good mates out of it. It's a lot more casual and fun. One other big difference. Speedball is pretty much a young mans game. It's hard on the body, professional players are sportsmen. They train, they eat right, exercise and practice hard. There are older players out there but most are 20's to 30's. Bushball you can easily play into your 60's if your careful, and you can just rock up to a field unpack your gear out of the car and have some fun. If you're not that fit, see the aforementioned sneaky prick point or go in support of the young bucks that are fitter and able to run the perimeter of the playzone without getting up a sweat. No matter what type you play. The adrenaline still pumps when those paintballs fly next to your cover and miss you by a bee's dick.

I started in the woods then to speedball and now I'm back in the woods. Big games is where its at.

I like both but prefer woodsball...however I get two kinds of a rush. Speedball the constant chaos of paint flying at you...woodsball the feeling of not seeing an opponent the possibility of being shot from anywhere and not knowing

I like to look at it like this, Woodsball is like an adventure type mission like your in a war or a call of duty game. Speedball is like a tournament like more organized team effort, stepping in a football field with referees and matching jerseys type of game. To me you NEED a team of guys that are on the same page when you play speedball. It’s more convenient to play woodsball, because you might not have a team readily available all the time. Amen brother!!!! Brass eagles and sting Ray's in an old abandoned oil field. Baby steps, got hooked, went to a local field played with 98s. Then another year baught SP ION. Another year or so went by and SAVED!!!! for an Angel speed. Years later way more guns and time and money and all stemmed from a few kids running around the woods with walmart guns.

I didn't get into paintball until I was 27 and from my experience speedball seems harder to break into. I have to side with woodsball in this case because it was really easy for me to get involved in the sport, try all styles of play, and eventually join a Woodsball team. I love the sport and I really want to try speedball. It has been a struggle to find a field that has open play where new players can go learn speedball.

I have been playing paintball since 2007 and it all started with woodsball. Once I was playing consistently, I transitioned to speedball. SC village would take the novice rec guys to the hyberball field towards the end of the day and play a few points. Even now I don't introduce people to speedball starting off.

Number one thing bad about speed ball, keeping a team together or just having players , mostly if you are from a small town.

Woods Ball grows paintball, Speedball scares away new players and most new players I have talked to find it boring.

I started with speed ball and then it got to expensive so I started playing in the woods with a couple of friends and it's now the only way I play. Woodsball all the way!!

I enjoy the large pushes in woodsball. Sneaking around/ ambushing. Nothing like overtaking the opposition with hordes of players all shooting and charging at once. Truck insertions are great too. Ive never played a speedball game tho, so this is a very biased opinion🤷‍♂️😆

I started on a speedball field for my first few years of paintball. Still never played woods ball because there is no where around me. I still would love to be able to play woods ball sometime.

Definitely woodsball. You have to contend with more than just enemy players, you have to deal with the terrain. Speedball is just clean, flat, symmetrical, predictable. With woods, you have to plan your trek through the woods and plan ahead to use the terrain to your advantage. A tactical retreat to bait the enemy into favorable terrain is definitely a viable strategy in woods. In woods you have cover AND concealment which players quickly learn the difference. It's also slower pace, less competitive, less stressful, and has greater options for scenario games. My most favorite woodsball field took place in a river valley. Each slope was one side of the field with the dry river bed running through the center. It was tough because all bunkers had clear shots against enemy bunkers of thr opposing side. We had to move downhill to move forward, but when we reached the 50, we had to move uphill.

Started on woodsball 2 weeks ago, after the first time I went out and bought my own marker and went again this last week! haha Loving the sport, cant wait to upgrade to a better marker to try me some speedball! P.S. Love the videos, keep 'em comin'!

Woodsball. Beacause you are in a real situation with the unestable ground. In a real battle never have a good communication with your team because the real war is unpredictable. Woodsball

I think Tony has forgotten what it feels like to play woodsball, how isnt there an adrenaline rush? i can see rushing around in speedball getting everything done and quick games. But you have about 20 locations the opposing team could be. In woodsball you have about 2000 places an opposing team member could be. Getting out there, tracking them down, fire fights, how is there no adrenaline rush? Come on Tony, get out and find your roots.

I literally live in the desert I started out in speedball/hyperball 5v5 sized fields. I actualy have only played in a "woodsball" field like once in my life, and its still dirt with no trees

I was into paintball back when everyone else was and I just jumped into it again like a lot of us.. and I'll tell you right now I got completely stomped at speedball and it has not deterred me one bit. Different strokes I guess. I've spent 10 years trying to motivate myself to exercise and eat better and this did it for me after one day.

My dream: tournament magfed. But not stupid like tippmanns 2v2 promotional thing.

What's better for the sport? Woodsball. Every paintball facility would go under with only speedball fields, and there are tons of woodsball fields that do just fine without speedball

In my opinion, small team woods ball is the best play of paintball. Especially with a group of friends. The maps are generally much much larger than a speedball layout, there’s nature and brush to hide behind and in, as well as manmade bunkers, and it’s much slower paced allowing for more tactical reasoning than just shoot lanes and take a risky move here and there. You also conserve a BUNCH of paint, and generally don’t need to fill air between every single round or two. Plus, there’s the entire range of guns from cockers, to pumps, to electronics, to mechanicals, whatever! The one thing I don’t like are people who ramp rentals. And I often hear the argument “it’s my gun, I spent a lot of money I’ll shoot it however the hell I want at whoever the hell I want” and yes you’re right, but if you light up a 10 year old kid with 10 paintballs do you really think he’s going to want to keep playing in the future? I myself own an Axe 2.0, Gtek and A-5 with an E-Trigger but I keep my markers in semi especially when I know there are new players who are clueless and appear really inexperienced. Now experienced players? Fair game. Shoot in whatever mode you want. But do you really need to be shooting 10.5 BPS at a group of kids with their moms and dads? No... Anyways, I prefer woodsball over speedball, especially small team.

It all comes down to the person. Speedball is a dream for some because of how expensive it is. But for the general population in my opinion would prefer woodsball because it's more adventurous and cheeper.

I live an in an area where there are no woods so i cant play woods ball, but i like woods ball more than speedball because i like to play cautiously

Woodsball hands down. I dont mind watching speed ball but never could get into it. I love the hunt. The slower pace combat that for me feels more like a battle simulation. The draw for me is the camo, the team 5 to 10 teammates not scenario, moving as one unit communicating and working together. The comeradery shared in both styles of play is comparable I'm sure. I love the fact that if you have played for years competitively or never played at all you can get a mask, a marker and a group of friends out in the woods and have a BLAST regardless. Speedball is no fun for a brand new player who has very little experience, clueless on callouts and rules, and who likely has no where near the gear or idea of what gear they should have to even have a slight chance against an experienced team. I have NEVER had a bad day playing paintball in the woods. Sorry so long winded but thanks for the opportunity

I'm 49 with health issues. Cant run and slide so woodsball and being a back player is all I'm good for.

I don't make rapper money so, woodsball with my franken-cocker every 2 weeks is all i can afford. It is more satisfying to make the one shot, one kill than shooting 20bps from a speedball to get the same hit. Besides, at the end of the day. After we find out that we can no longer play at the faster pace of the competitive speedball tournaments. We all go back to where we started.. playing Woodsball.

I know this is an older video and I'm now getting back into paintball after i left but in 2015-2018 I was with e. b. c (extreme battle crew) we would play big scenario games against people like south beach pimps and everyone would use the double trigger speedball guns in the wood games no-one ever used mechanicals like emeks and Tippmann 98s. I don't think a lot of big teams used mechanicals in the wood games. Just my opinion

With speedball gear you can play woodsball, but you cant really play speedball with woodsball gear

I jumped right into speed ball and was a rude awakening and pretty fun bc i showed up in the morning learning with pros then at the end of the day all the newbs show up and i was a whole day of training above them and kicked they ass repeatedly

I'm older, older in that I can remember Tippmann pumps being the premo field gun. I prefer woodsball, it's lower impact...i can take a break, and SHADE!!!

I love small team woodsball 10 guys close quarters. Same adrenaline as speedball but more bunkers more places to hide chill environment. I've never done a game with thousands of other players and I don't think I ever would.

Woods ball is the best. Because it has "speedball" when you come across enemies, but has an added factor of being attacked from all sides, including behind you, not just in front of you. Look at it this way. Woodsball is multiple "speedball" games with different layouts as you move around!! Never the same game. Speedball is the same everygame!!!

In the beginning there was woods. I tried speedball a few times, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Once Woods always Woods for me...💙❤💣💥

I'm a woods baller myself cause I'm a rather large slow moving individual so for me speedball isn't fun. That said tho I will still play with friends that want to play speedball. Paintball is paintball the only important thing is that we need to help those getting into the sport.

A speedball field might as well be an archery tag field there’s no difference the woods is all about adapting and outsmarting the other team speedball is nothing but sending paint hoping for an elimination

Honestly I’m just starting and I’ve only played speedball, I just thought that’s what paintball is. So I guess I’m the .1%

For me speedball is more fun, but woodsball is more of a challenge and more realistic (even though paintball is far from realistic). I think most of us can agree that both is better.

The first game I played was speedball it was also the last time I played speedball and how I got banned from playing at that field ever again, the gist of the story is a pro player went overboard at point-blank and after a brief flash of rage we learned A5's are really durable but the mask on his face, not so much.👍

They are both fun but as a regular paintball player (non pro), if you want to just go and have fun all day, definitely woodsball. Looking for the rush, speedball. At the end of the day, if you take it seriously, you can get that rush in woodsball too. Nothing like sneaking into the other teams main area and destroying them is an awesome feeling as well.

Scenario woodsball all day long (Clowns vs Zombies, Living Leyends and Decay of Nations) it's cheaper and more enjoyable than tournament paintball.

Speedball is for me. It is fast paced, organized, requires physical fitness, and has a crucial teamwork aspect to it. I have an indoor field near me, so I can play year-round, without worrying about the weather, nor season. No hate towards woodsball tho

Watching dynasty vs ton tons in 2004 nppl is what drove me to play speedball but I started in the woods with friends with brass eagle pump guns. I enjoy a good scenario based game to this day it mixes up the typical type of play you get from speedball.

And now we have 10 man mechanical tournaments, even at the pro level. Woods, hyperball, mounds. I'd take that over turf and blow up bunkers any day.

One thing that use to annoy me with bush ball. Well if a guy was hiding behind a bush the balls would break on every stupid little twig and not hit the guy.

Speed ball requires so much more paint to get good at to run scenarios, woods ball you need to learn the maps to know where your going, I tried speed ball once i liked it but I'm a woods ball person, also theres alot of adrenaline depending on the scenario

Personally I think Woods ball is better, personally I think you still get that same adrenaline launch, And personally, I’ve always just enjoyed being in the woods so that’s probably another reason I think it’s better.

Me setting here know that my first time playing paintball was during a tryout for a d4 - d5 team.

I am getting back into Paintball and I am getting into Speedball because of how our Airsoft groups does not have any competition events. It is also a lot of fun playing with a lot more people.

I'm a 51 year old just getting in to paintball. Speedball? I don't get it. You just stand there and shoot at air filled bunkers. You go thru a million paintballs and get the odd elimination. I'm more geared to woods ball and the chance to out think your apponents just like speedball but just love the thought of being out in the woods and using the natural terrain as cover. I do love watching speed ball tho, but don't think it would be as fun for someone like me.

Woods ball= missions, be like a military team and that's staff Speedball= adrenaline, fast play, more rush and more communication The 2 are great but more fun is woods because put you in the roll of a military team and you have to complete successful the mission, and that is incredible. Almost you have to be like a ninja and have to be alert all the time. But the both are incredibles and so sick 👌🏾

Both are great & do both, depends on desire for that day. Tony seems to take about winning money alot where Jake talkes about fun of game, Mark work camera no talking. See alot of sexual tension there. Alot of old great players coming back & playing woods type now.

I would ask which Players tend to be Better? Which Field style lends itself to a higher skill level? I'd say speedballers are generally better Paintballers. But to answer, I'm Woodsball/Milsim all Day.

Woodsball for me even after all these years. It's more unpredictable, requires a lot more strategy, and is easier to get into. The matches are also less formulaic.

Who not both, i love fast woodsball, with many diferent bunkers, but on small field, so you dont look for enemy long, just fast, dynamic rounds

Speedball/Airball/Hyperball is the most fun to me. That format awards aggressiveness but punishes being overly aggressive. It's just so much fun!

I would say speedball would be better than woodsball but it’s so expensive which is a killer for most of us, it’s intimidating when you hear you gotta spend atleast 800+ for just a decent setup and then the prices for entry and all the paint you gotta buy. If they somehow make speedball cheaper I think it would better

I grew up playing wood ball and hated speed ball. As I’ve gotten older I’ve Started to like speed ball A LOT MORE.

I started playing paintball in 1986 in the woods here in Ga. I have played the scenario world ever since. Speedball is ok, just not for me. I love the scenario/woodsball feel, but every person is a little different. Play what you love and enjoy the sport!

It's like tennis and table tennis...its just two completly different sports...both with the ball but different spred and techniqe.
