The answer is Red Sox fan because Boston fans have absolutely no reason to be bitter considering they have won more championships than any other city since the year 2000.
About the same - as a Yankees fan though, I dislike it when someone says after a loss "Well we have 27 rings..." at least 20 of them were won when only three or four teams realistically had any chance to win and the amateur draft had yet to be established
Yankee fans can be obnoxious about the Yankees winning, but they own it...since 2004 Red Sox fans have become insufferable, They act just like Yankee fans, but also want to act like lovable losers.
Maybe younger Sox fans. But anyone alive and old enough to remember the dark times knows better… I still watch every game knowing we could be back to losing consistently any second.
I’ve been a Yankee fan since I picked up a baseball 25 years ago. When we lost in ‘04, I got a Boston hat signed by Trot Nixon the night they won it all, to humble myself. Anything can happen, even when the odds are stacked against you or for you.
Wish the Rays were healthy. Not only are they not 100%, they're basically at 50%. Would have made for a much more compelling series against the Yankees.
Cowboys had 1 dynasty 30 years ago. Yankees have had dynasty after dynasty for a century. And at least the Yankees have won this century 🤷♂️. Yankees fans have wayyyy more room to talk than Cowboys fans do.
Well, well...well...Look at the standings NOW! Damn! Seems like "Reversed Curse" or "Curse Reversed" for Yanks. Ever since O's brought that Kid Catcher up, its been a roll for them and Yanks collapse.
What the Red Sox have done to be above 500 and be competitive for a wild-card spot at this time is truly impressive with the injuries to Sale,Whitlock, Eovaldi, Kike , etc. The Yankees have been relatively injury-free for most of the season. Gloating is never noble. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. The Yankees track record of finishing has been abysmal for over a decade.
Red Sox fans when their team isn't as good as The Yankees: "yeah, I'm ok. No problem here. The Yankees are playing good. What can I say?" Red Sox fans when their team is better than The Yanks: "Yankees suck. They're a joke. F@@k 'em". Yankees fans all the time: "Red Sox suck. They're a joke. F@@k 'em". I'm glad I'm one of them, not ever cowering in passivity when the Yanks have a bad season (by our standards) and only finish with 88 wins.
Well they should but their arrogant philosophy of we don’t need no stinkin’ small ball etc. turned out to be not only narrow minded but idiotically wrong headed ! Finally they changed their philosophy and approach and so far it is paying dividends . About time!
Pfft. The last twenty years for the Chowds have been an anomaly unlike any other. Having said that, there are few things more insufferable than Yanks fans gloating. It is still a distant second to Gloating Cowboys fan. Edit: I feel Brockman when he says he sits in the dark watching his team play in the championship round.
>>Which Is More Insufferable: Gloating Yankees Fan or Bitter Red Sox Fan - Yankees fan, all day and all night and all week and all year. Correct in connecting those noxious, self-entitled derps with Cowboys fans...
As good as the Yankees have looked so far, odds are they won't end up winning the World Series, simply because in baseball the season's best team usually doesn't. Therefore, gloating now is dangerous.
Any bitter Sox fan wasn't a die hard Sox fan growing up in the 70's experiencing all the upsets and heartbreaks before coming back down 3 vs Yankees in 04 ALCS. If you started liking and watching baseball and the Sox had already won the 04 WS the bitterness doesn't surprise me but anyone above age 30 that's bitter it's likely that they're bitter for other reasons too..
More insufferable? Neither…Astro’s fans are the worst. Won 1 single WS and they call themselves “America’s Team”. Next to them 🤡, I have absolutely no problem with Red Sox fans.
Dodger fans are just as bad nowadays. Win 1 world series in a 60 game season(less games than have been played this year) and you would swear their fans think they're a dynasty lmao.
Both are insufferable and should not exist. I'm a happy respectful Yankees fan whose second favorite team is the Red Sox. I learned this from my father and have loved being this way all of my life. You should try it - not just because the other ways are stupid, but because this way is the most fun - every day.
Yankee fans are bad. Red Sox fans are so much worse. Before 2004: "Feel sorry for us. Curse of the Bambino" So it gets pointed out to them that both the White Sox and Cubs had longer droughts than the Red Sox. "Screw Chicago. Feel sorry for us." Since 2004: "Look how many championships we've won since 2004. 4 titles to only 1 for the Yankees. Yankees suck!"
Yankees are playing great. But it’s a down year in baseball. Not a lot of great teams. And honestly dint compare football teams who are saddled with salary caps, and baseball teams that have a……pffft…… luxury tax.
Real Yankee/Sox fans understand that it’s a long season… both teams are always competitive after the all star break near playoff push. looking forward to watching that as a baseball fan
Wow, don't watch the junior circuit much - didn't know Judge has played 60 games almost as good as Barry Bonds played from 1992-2004. i.e. 202 OPS+ to 205. Congratulations, Rich.
Yankees look scary,n they are only gonna add at trade deadline...They are ranked 6th in runners in scoring position, 2nd in era for bullpen,N 3rd in era for starters...insane
Yeah yankees look legit. I think they will probably make the World Series, but unless the Dodgers choke I don’t see anybody beating them. The Dodgers lineup have so many guys with deep postseason experience that the Yankees just don’t have. As much as people don’t think that postseason experience is a thing in baseball, it is
Red Sox fans definitely more annoying because no matter how many times they win, all Mass fans come fully equipped with this built in sports inferiority complex. It’s a deep insecurity. Yankees fans are arrogant until the end, because they know they always have next season to win yet another title.
dodger fans fighting and showing up late to games, cowboy fans thinking they are a super bowl contender every year are the two worst fan bases in all of sports. Just toxic people
The funnier thing than all this (well, at least for we Yankees fans) is that the Res Sox in their attempt to climb 6 games over five hundred (winning percentage- i.e. even) are losing in the 8th inning 10 to 2 at Fenway (to the cardinals, a decent team but still)!
Rich Eisen is the most insufferable. All the time . Has he ever done one show without passive aggressive sport takes . I love the guy. But will he ever evolve?
Yankee success means very little to me, that team runs the league. Obviously there are some real cool Yankee fans but as a whole they're atrocious and I can't talk baseball with them.
The Yankees record is 46-16. How is that 30 games above .500? They have played 62 games. If they were at .500 they would be 31-31, so aren't they only 15 games above .500?
I remember the Red Sox fanbase becoming pretty insufferable after they broke their long World Series championship drought in 2004, but as a Colorado Rockies fan who got to see “Roctktober” crash and burn in Fenway Park, I think I’d still rather see more Red Sox championships than another Yankees one.
When your team is spending three or four times more than most of the league you're suppose to win that's why Yankee fans are so insufferable. Add in the ridiculous stadium they built to pad their stats and I'll root for anyone against them.
Youre all wrong. The most unsufferabke is whiny Mets fan. Whining about the braves. Whining about being 2nd best in NYC. Whine Whining Whining whine whine that's all Mets fans do
My solutions to make MLB baseball interesting…20 sec pitch clock, automate balls/strikes, unlimited substitution, and unlimited DHs (who, akin with pitchers are not true baseball players).
Lifelong Red Sox fan and how can there be any bitterness after coming back down three to beat the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS? For me it was so much sweeter than winning the world series. My dad is a Yankees fan and he took every opportunity to make me regret being a Sox fan. After 2004 winning 3 more World Series exceeded every hope and dream I ever had. When I fell asleep during game 4 of ALCS it looked like the Yankees were going to sweep. Finding out the Sox were able comeback and win I was so surprised and every moment of the last 3 games against the Yankees was something I ever thought would happen. Yankees fans have a lot to proud of and brag about but they got nothing to say that would bother me in the least. After 75 WS vs Reds, Effn Bucky Dent in 79, Buckner in 84 not mention all the almosts, the should haves and didn't get it dones beginning in 73 when I began liking and watching baseball. Growing up in Mass I felt like I would not live to see the Sox win a WS. Well it's 4 and counting. I am content and not the least bitter or jealous.
Yankees fans need to cling to whatever they can nowadays. It’s like “27 rings” even though only 1 of those rings has come in the last 2 decades and all it took to win that one was spend more money in free agency than the entirety of the rest of MLB combined.
