The BGS kids is my favorite. I’m on my 3rd or 4th bottle. My eyes are super sensitive when it comes to sunscreen, this is quite literally the only sunscreen I’ve tried that doesn’t sting my eyes if I get to close to my eyelids when applying. It’s better protection with SPF 50, and it’s cheaper. I like the glow I get with it bc I tend to be on the drier side, although in the summer the glow is a lot. it just feels moisturizing and smoothing. it’s overall the best sunscreen I’ve used and I will continue to purchase. And I love that it will work for my kiddos as well!
This video just popped up on my home page, and I'm so happy it did. Although I'm but a simple white boy lol, I'm particular about sunscreens and I've had my eye on Black Girl Sunscreen for a long time but never bought any. This was such a thoughful and helpful breakdown. Might have to pick up the kids one if I see it at Target soon! I also love nail polish, so you've got a new subscriber!
Really love this review and it's SUPER helpful. I usually have 3 issues with sunscreens: 1) does it leave a white cast? 2) does it make me look greasy and 3) does it make me break out? The first two questions are answered for all the sunscreens mentioned, but I do wonder how they handle acne prone skin like I have. I have to be SUPER careful what I put on my face. I'll probably try the second sunscreen mentioned. I've been on the hunt for a sunscreen that meets all 3 of my criteria and it has been HARD. But I'm going to give it a try, especially since I use a lot of other products like vitamin c, and serums to help with hyperpigmentation. They usually mention on the packaging to use sun protection.
Glad I could answer the first 2 questions for you! I don't have acne-prone skin so I wouldn't be able to give an honest opinion on that point (not a lot makes my skin break out). Maybe there's an acne-prone creator who's reviewed these and could help you!

I so wish I had seen this before my purchases. I totally agree with you on the make it hybrid's mineral white cast. I was able to get it to fade a little by doing the full application 10 minutes apart and putting a little regular lotion on, but it's not worth the hassle. Glad I also got the kids version, so it will be my go to when I travel. Thanks for this review though ^-^
Love the video. Do you have other sunscreen recommendations for dark oily/dehydrated skin. I have tried BGS and the regular/kids version is a little too oily for me. I have dabbled in Asian sunscreen but I am unsure of whether they are actually effective (I seem to get darker when using them, even after reapplication). Any sunscreen recommendations are appreciated (Asian or non).
