For many years I have been successfully using large size paper points ( 60 -80) instead wedges that provide ideal moisture control and can be pulled against the matrix in similar manner to teflon floss. The technique was initially shown by Dr Geoffrey Knight from Australia
The thickness of Bioclear HD matrix is 75 micron which is very thick compared to 35 to 40 micron of Palodent and Garrison systems. That thickness would be no problem at all to get real nice, tight contacts? I really want to go with transparent HD matrix of Bioclear, the thickness always bothers me though. Whenever I choose HD clear matrix, I pick up wooden wedges to compensate for the matrix thickness with much stronger separation force. Am I right? Thanks,
Dear friend - it has been a while since I used bioclear but I share your concern regarding their thickness. However, from memory I believe it should be used with the ring? The ring gives you the desired separation to compensate for the thickness of the matrix
