Am 70 years old and just starting jump roping. I can last about a minute at a time using a basic vinyl covered cable heavy rope. Wow, what a workout. And my arthritic ankle doesn't hurt now. Wished I had discovered this years ago but now is great.
Just ordered a beaded jump rope. I have just got real good at jump roping for 1-2 minutes at a time. Got my form and rhythm down. I started venturing into tricks by learning the crossover. A beaded jump rope sounds perfect! Thanks for the video and recommendations!!
Gonna order a TORQ PVC and for the moment when I will ever get someone else into jumping rope a beaded one as well. The beaded ones really look cool ^^ I started with a 90° speed rope and later bought a cross rope, but now that I want to master double unders, the speed rope twists when I fail and the cross rope taxes my arms too much to go as fast as possible at the end of a long workout
Hi Tori, Happy Jumping to you as well! :D (Plus: that spin direction change at 1:27 was so unexpected to me (not knowing anything about rope jumping), that was really funny (I love these unexpected "wait, what, how did she do that" moments haha)) And I love that contagious smile of yours, have a beautiful day Tori! :D
I use to jump rope with the beaded rope overall when I was in elementary and back then I didn't learn how to jump rope but since then I continued and strive to get better at it every single day on it as a whole.😁👍
@@ToriBoggsJumpRope oh thanks Tori you are so sweet and thoughtful hey if you didn't do jump rope do you think you would have picked up kickboxing or karate 🥋 as a whole you definitely have the stamina and footwork for as well I think you would have picked up on it extremely quickly Tori.😁👍💯
As a beginner I’ll get the beaded ropes for my first learning rope then eventually use PVC, then maybe even the speed rope when I truly mastered jumping rope🥰
Definitely use different ones. Crossropes are ok for just getting people active or even weighted rope training, however they are not good for developing correct technique or even approaching any skills beyond basic jumps. They are also way over priced when you can get a better rope for significantly less 👌🏼
Thank you very useful. I was thinking to have beaded one. But since I am not new to jump rope and have the basic skills with the speed rope. I’ll try the pvc one
Should I go with long handle pvc or short handle pvc to begin with (intermediate, learning new tricks like cougar / mic release) ? Would you recommend having both handle lengths ?
I wanted to share my experience about the beaded rope. Indeed, really very good for beginners and beyond. I tried others but the beaded is the best one: you can fit the speed to your level better then with others what is really good for beginners.
From my experience i would. Prefer the. Leather i don't know much about. The beaded ropes i'm too keen on the. Wire rope thats all i can. Go by i've got my own, Skipping Rope, and it's a Leader and it's really good, and thanks for the tips. On the Ropes, Tori. 😀
I just went to the Torque site and I'm trying to figure out the difference between the Current and the Voltage PVC ropes. The only differences seem to be the rope thickness (1mm difference) and the handle lenghth (3 inch difference). What' is the advantage of a longer handle? Just if you have bigger hands than most people, or is there another reason someone would want longer handles?
How do the PVC ropes hold up on concrete? I love speed ropes but the concrete chews through the rubber coating, exposing the wire and wire also starts to flare out 😬.
OK. I notice the Walmart rope is not listed at all in this video and I think for good reason. I just turned 50 and got jump roping in my mind somehow. You can't be old and infirm if you can jump rope so i wanted to slowly get into it. The Walmart ropes are, I assume, low quality PVC ? Whatever they are, they have bend memory so you have a rope that doesn't hang straight, but rather has many, many bends in it. My skills and form are likely very bad and then throw a cheap rope in the mix and I am getting very discouraged. This video, i believe, has pushed me in the right direction and I will purchase a beaded rope.
Which brand are you using? Some of them have slight material differences that can affect this. Also make sure you aren't leaving it tangled for long periods of time or even in the heat / cold. Leave your rope on a hanger for a bit and it should straighten out!
@@ToriBoggsJumpRope I just bought it on online store. I guessed the part of rope inside the stalk doesn't turns too much while jumping causing tension on the rope. so I rather stopped jumping, hold one end let the tangled rope turns to straight again. then resumed the workout.
Kenya is very close to my heart. Sadly my bracelet broke since this video :( Been looking for another or I may just need to go visit again to get one :)
Just amazeing how you do, i Rope skipp a Lot, too. Question what is the Minimum time to get the best Trainings effect. 🤔 I try to keep fit at my Work Lunchbreak.... Greetings from nürnberg Bavaria ❤🤙🇩🇪
Hi Tori, long term follower, you've even been in Italy basically next to my house in Valeggio! 😂 Anyway, I've been using to the Get Fly rope by Mauro for years and I like it a lot (it's PVC), but I wanted to spice up my Release game. It's hard with the GetFly because of the heavy handles. I always wanted to try a beaded as I see all the pros doing endless releases with it. Would you suggest me a beaded, or another PVC but with lighter handles? Thanks ♥️
Hey! Amazing! I love Italy! Thanks so much for your support too 🙏🏻 I have my own ropes: torqropes.com. Any ropes on there are going to be lighter options. Even the Voltage are a lighter long handle than Get Fly’s. Definitely recommend mine!
❤❤❤ TORI BOGGS YOU ARE THE UNDISPUTED WORLD "BEAUTIFUL SMILE" CHAMPION AND SUPER-FANTASTIC AND ALL THAT WITH A BUTTERMILK JELLY BISCUIT!!! I LOVE YOUR BOUNDLESS ENERGY ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
This is an epic share Tori. I started jump rope with a speed rope and I really wish I knew that speed ropes were really best for speed work and athletes … I just wanted to do fun jump rope footwork at the beginning anyway! I hope this helps any new jumpers here. I also love the beaded ropes for learning new skills & for anyone else doing speed I like a 5mm PVC rope for my speed work ;) … still light but not too light. Thanks for being an inspiration here Tori for me & so many since 🔒 1.0 2020 💕🫶
