@@Chrobeamer True and it's not really effective in a real fight, I mean why use your hands and not even land a punch if someone can just straight up land a kick on your face?
I trained that for over 10 years..and yeah, the training methods are mostly jokes. That said, it is still very effective. People do grab you in confrontations and aikido will take that arm apart
Real sumo training is rough tho. Much more than any other martial art I reckon. Not due to physical exertion, but by the fact that you don’t live at home and don’t get paid until you make it to a pretty high rank. Oh yea and if you don’t get paid, you do cleaning and cooking.
Probably not what’s happening here, but it’s pretty common in jiu jitsu to start doing one move essentially just to bait a reaction from your opponent to help you set up something completely different. For example: you go for a choke, they put an arm up to defend, you take the arm bar. And of course if they don’t defend it you can still go for the choke
That's the Japanese version of football linemen: morbidly obese men in revealing clothing pushing each other for 4-5 sec. This sport was made for the US.
@@darksaintxvi6914 but wrestling does not train you in chokings and arm/leg bars; judo, bjj, and jj i think are more effective. for take downs i think wrestling and judo are first on the same level
Muay thai stance eats double leg takedowns. Boxing+bjj only what you need as base. Dangerous on the ground and on your feet too. What does wresstling do if you can only choose beetween getting punched in the face or choked out?
@@countquakers4725 i get you. The context is important. By them showing us these clips isn’t them saying that’s all there is to it. Just a general idea. They’re just having fun and by their skill levels and knowledge of different martial arts. I’m sure they know it too brother. Keep bringing people up 👊
@@countquakers4725 true , yesterday i sparred with a friend of mine his tkd instructor and his kicks have power , i have a big lomp on both my arms from blocking his mid kicks , but also he's from the champion tkd club in my country so it's expected.
@@purpleatemyrainbow9347 it's only good in 1v1 situations but that's unrealistic in today's society where you'll get ganged up in a street fight and going to the ground will leave a lot of opening for others to beat you up.
@@shashastrawberry5574 If you consistently hang out with someone who speaks slang, over time you will find your self repeating sentences that person has been saying without concisely thinking about it.
@@tableprinterdoor Nope. Sanda is a completely different thing coming from several different Chinese martial arts(the throwing elements come fro different styles of Chi Na, and different styles of tai chi, Bagua(I believe), and Shuai Jiao(traditional Chinese wrestling).
@@Thanosthiccass I didn’t even notice it was the same people I am watching the fighting style not taking in on what the person looks like plus with the head gear on he looks different your the one with the low iq bruh you can’t be telling someone they have a low iq and say bruh in the same sentence
Wrestlers by far transition the best into mma. It’s a little bit tough with jui jit su but once they learn to hide their neck they become pretty tough competitors
You guys ever done eastern martial arts? The way those guys were screaming was kind of goofy, but when done properly it does multiple things: reminds you to constantly breathe, tightens your core and releases the air from your lungs so if you get hit you wouldn't be as winded, releases adrenaline, and if done properly can even scare/intimidate opponents
@@unterhau1102 Yeah of course, I'm aware and respect the technique, but the noises they made in the video are still funny. Not making fun of them in any way, I'm sure the people in this video are excellent fighters
In addition to not doing any sweeps with Muay Thai, I love how they didn’t throw any fists, like Muay Thai is called kickboxing-emphasis on KICKBOXING, boxing and kicks.
It's important to be well rounded but if you're only allowed one, I'd go for a grappling art. Not jits though, you don't want to be pulling guard on concrete.
You ask this because you want to know what it is or what? You're Khmer and people of this country always claim many things of TH but can't make their owns popular. That's why I ask.
