I think a crucial thing, often overlooked, to consider when talking about external displays for designers is pixel density and scaling. A 4K resolution (3840x2160) on big displays like 27" or 32" is not ideal, because it will render UI elements either pretty big (which makes it harder for designers to get a good sense of how to properly size texts and elements) or the right physical size, but blurry, because of imperfect scaling. The best example is Apple's 27" Studio Display. The ideal resolution of a previous-generation 27" display is 2560x1440. If you want crisp and pixel-perfect scaling, you need to multiply by 2 - and in fact Apple's Studio Display is 5120x2880. Same as the old iMac 27" and the 27" LG 5K UltraFine. That's why I would go with either that kind of display or a more classic non-high-density display, which would not be a "retina" display, but it would at least still render elements at a more accurate physical size - which I think is very important for UI designers. It's opposite. A 4K on 28" will display content too small.

Hi, Ive been choosing a monitor for a week and I am very confused, so in 2024 a 2k 144hz monitor will be bad? I can also buy a 4k 27 but it's only 60hz :(( They both have 100% sRgb and delta

Going above 27 inches is a bit not good ergonomically. Curved and ultrawide I don't recommend due to ergonomic issues. Moving head a lot. Most curved pnes are larger than 27"

@@learnuxid That’s fair. I’ve been considering a 32 inch ultra wide to avoid a dual monitor setup for working at home. That way I can monitor comms, and run database queries alongside UI design for reporting and apps. I guess I could use the laptop screen to run some of it, since it’s a balancing act between features and cost, and correct color representation is most important to me.

@@harmonizewithme if you code and preview its results then wide screen might not be that good as you have to sit in the middle of it. In case of two screens setup. One can be in front all thr times and the other to preview your results on the right or left

For coding you can get a cheap monitor but for preview results or actual app, you need good IPS screen

thank you my brother, for sharing and the information.. very helpful and gave me additional knowledge about monitors.. but may I ask for your recommendations, the most ideal monitor for me as an Architect/Interior. that always makes 3D work 🙏🙏 I'm really confused.. afraid to buy the wrong one.. is it 2k 32" (I doubt it will lack color accuracy etc) or 4k 27" (I'm afraid it's too small and makes my eyes tired) or 2k 34".. I'm really confused... with my humility.. and deepest.. may I ask for your recommendation? thank you... I hope there is an opportunity to reply to my message 🙏🙏
