Online racing is good All they had to add was where you could make your own party private parties. All they had to do. Career mode odviously they screwed it big time But online was fine
It wasn't great, but at least that one worked. Pretty sure it was built on the rFactor engine. The default sets were garbage though. I remember rolling over at Sonoma with the base set they provided.
With a few settings tweaks, NASCAR Heat Evolution is actually playable and an occasionally fun experience despite being fairly barebones in all facets. Ignition never had any hope to be a successful racing game. A disaster from start to finish.
Sorry, did you just say that Unity is used mainly for Phone games? That might be the stupidest thing Ive ever heard, like Unity’s been in the gaming news for several terrible policy changes they were trying to make, if ya read an article about that maybe youd see that its not exactly an engine focused on mobile development
Lol exactly, I'd speculate that the first version of unity is older that this videos author. I'm sure they some port available for phone game development but their main market was PC gaming for many years. Also Unreal engine 5 is simply unreal in what it can do when used correctly-unlike the games showcased.
I know them very little for mobile games lol just angry birds , & Subway surfers and Pokémon go . Mainly know them from pc and console games like Among Us , Subnautica , Fall Guys , Rust , Overcooked , Cuphead, Beat Saber and Breachers and man they did great with breachers closest thing I’ll get to rainbow six on vr
Nascar 2001 for PS2. You could only run 20 cars on the track at once, (the ps1 version had 24 cars, I think) no fantasy tracks, rear view mirror was very blurry, and there was no new Hampshire, texas, Dover, to name a few. frames dropped when rear view mirror was on. The only 2 good things are the crashes and the in race commentary. at least the ea ps2 games got better. Edit: you can't skip pacing laps
Nascar Racing Season 2003 is 100% the best. Sure, graphics aren't modern, but the physics are better than today. Sure, some glitches ARE there, but doesn't every game? Also, you can mod it to any year, any series. Even the convertible series!
NASCAR THUNDER 2003 REASON: very sensitive analog input. I have to literally modify my car each race because of how sensitive it is from handling. It's hard to accelerate because for some reason every time it's hard to overtake
The One Thing Nobody Pointed Out Was In Heat Evolution (And In NASCAR Heat 2) You Can’t Even Turn The Camera Angle First Person View Camera Angle On Where The Other Cars Are In The Game, That Was Much Biggest Complaint With Those Games. I’m Glad NASCAR Heat 3 Fixed That Issue. 21 Ignition Even Did The Same Thing. It’s A Close One For This, Both Are Terrible In Their Own Ways, At Least It’s Not Like In NASCAR 08 (PS3 & Xbox 360 Versions) Where The Car Easily Spins Once You Take A Single Turn In That Game. Yeah NASCAR 08 Absolutely… no Scratch That, 21 Ignition Is The Worst Racing Game On Modern Gaming Even F1 2022 Didn’t Disappoint Me This Badly.
I’m not really a developer or anything but I feel like you mis-understand unity’s potential for games a little bit. It could be used to make a great nascar game if they actually try. Unity is very approachable to new developers which is why there are so many trash games made with it like mobile games. While unreal is more complex to a new developer. But does have a bunch of great features and tools for developers to make amazing and stunning looking games. Although I’m not 100% sure if what I said is completely accurate Also unity is being extremely greedy lately with their fees and deceptive tos, so I get hating on them
Kinda mixed on ignition, after they got rid of the bugs it’s playable either without cautions or pit stops. In my opinion the only thing that it really needed was a better online.
With the glitches on NASCAR 21 Ignition. Imagine doing Career mode on that game and you are getting glitched in the middle of the race. That would not that's painful.
Ignition was the worst. Evolution didn't have too horrible bugs. I cant even play Ignition if I wanted too, because all of the cars move at 1000x speed, even when reinstalling.
None of the issues are related to the engines the used, unity and unreal have been used in pc gaming for years. The problem is with the coding and the coders not understanding their tools.
EA's NASCAR Road Racing in 1998. 26 car fields, you have to drive as one of the real drivers, since there was no 'player' car, no real tracks, no season mode, no online mode, the racing was laughablely arcade-like, your gas tank ran empty within five laps, and your opponents qualified in the exact same order every race. Oh and they wouldn't even give you finishing results beyond where you finished. The music was nice, and some of the track designs were imaginative, but it 100% confirmed me as a Papyrus fan, they were light years ahead of EA.
Facts. Also NASCAR Heat Evolution was the first NASCAR Heat Game ever made. So of course it isn’t as good. Ignition on the other hand. They had many more resources available
Evolution was just a subpar Nascar game, without any bells and whistles. Ignition was a decent Nascar game that was utterly ruined by bugs, glitches, and missing features. Hell, my very first race in Ignition, I fell through the track after my car decided to stop dead in the middle of the corner and Harvick bulldozed me
I’m playing ignition by pirating it and not faced any major bugs and crashes for 8 months, though I despise the AI for how it race especially the road course and speedway tracks. Heat Evolution is considered playable but most boring NASCAR game imo.
Evolution was awful as was Ignition but I gotta give the nod here to Evolution as being the worst Honorable mention goes to Nascar 08 for PS3 as the car was so loose in the corner it was undrivable no matter what you did
Personally, i think Ignition is better than Evolution. Now, before you guys crucify my, let me give my reasons as to why. 1. Ignition doesn’t have PS2 graphics like Evolution 2. The paint booth in Ignition is a massive improvement from the entire NASCAR Heat series. 3. The driving and crash physics are actually decent in Ignition (most of the time) 4. The pre race show is decent, while Evolution doesn’t even have one. 5. Ignition has driver changed in career mode.
Ignition fails at the most important thing in a NASCAR game and a video game for that matter. - racing... the AI can't race - playability... the game is insanely glitchy
