We’re a goalie friendly show so today we are going to rank our preferred external goalie options to help out the Ottawa Senators crease.
Brandon Piller and Ross Levitan each pick their top 5 choices for tendies to wear a Sens jersey next season. We take a look at trading for a goalie, acquiring RFA’s or hitting the free agent market. We continue our 2023 NHL Draft Prospect Profiles and we finally have a goalie to discuss! Today we look at players ranked 39th, 40th and 41st. The prospects are Michael Hrabel, Koehn Ziemmer and Anton Wahlberg.

I really like Soros as a trade option. I also like Freddy Amderson or Korpisalo as a Ufa signing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Sogaard is not NHL ready. Sorry Pierre

@@alfiesmullet1311as a Preds fan, I wonder what you’d trade for him. Unless it is an overpay, I wouldn’t trade Saros. It’d cost a hell of a lot more than DeBrincat in the trade.

I'm liking the idea of Freddie Andersen on a shorter-term deal. I like Forsberg, but I'm not confident that he'll be fully recovered from his injuries/be the goalie he was before. Soogard, I think he's the goalie of the future for the Sens. I think eventually he'll be our #1 guy, one of the top 'tenders in the league. I'm just worried if we try and rush him into that role, it might not come to pass. I think Freddie would be a solid stop gap who, like you guys mentioned could be a good mentor to Soogard. As an added bonus, it would be really cool if we could win it with Freddie after Leafs fans wrote him off as a guy who can't get it done after they overworked him and let him get shelled every night.

Hard to know what we'll do with our net, but I just want to say that I have a lot of faith in Forsberg to bounce back next year. I know he had a brutal injury and was a bit inconsistent before that, but it appears he'll be training regularly all summer and with our improved defense, is poised for a bounceback season. He's a super hard worker and does not have issues with positioning, athleticism or reaction time. I think he'll be a great option for us next year

Id go hard after Carter ❤or Jusse Saros...or settle for 1a with Adin Hill or Jonas Korpisalo paired w/ Forsberg. Andersen staying in Carolina he said he will take a significant cut to remain there.

I would try and get a UFA before trying to trade pieces for someone. There some nice goalies on the ufa list id offer 5M max to the tops in ufa if cant sign then go trade for one.

No need to spend money on a goalie at least not yet. Last 2 Stanley Cup champions proved that’s not important just have a couple of giant goalies. I would focus 95% + of the cap to skaters and build some depth. Ottawa went out on the goalie carousel last year (Talbot) and that didn’t work out? Well the year before they also went out on goalie carousel.. Matt Murray. That certainly didn’t work either. How many times do we have to strike out before we try something different?? Vegas have or have had Quick, Lehner, Flower and yet they won with… sorry gonna look up his name again (hahaha). Goalie position WAY over rated. I’d focus 99.9% of my energy on improving the skaters, build organizational depth, better skill development, better scouting, better coaches and WAY better GM. The shelves are nearly empty in Ottawa.

I think the Sens should go for Korpisalo. He has played on bad teams and people still think he is a decent goalie but most importantly, he is cheap af. I think the Sens should prioritize good value over good numbers, last thing they need is to have to buy out or retain salary on another guy.
