Tonight we find out if the Lion is better than the Dream. We test them with Clean Sounds, Dirty Sounds, and the Lion vs the Dream with an overdrive!
You can decide which is better for you.

Marshall plexi cleans are fantastic. You can add some spring from another source on the marshall clean and be good to go. There's nothing you can add to the dream to make it sound as big as the marshall. In addition to that, if you add a great overdrive in front of the marshall, there's EVEN MORE BIGGERR-ER-ERRS to be had there. The first time i tried my Friedman IR-X next to the dream i had the same reaction you guys did here. My compromise was to just use the IR-X and the Dream simultaneously in a dual mono set up. More is more.

I’d say this same thing can be said about a tube Marshall and fender too. They sound totally different. I think this just shows the sounds a drastically different

i use both, Lion for Stereo Wet, Dream for dry channel. WDW (stereo) and its fabulous!

Obviously, the Marshall will win on Panama. I was waiting for UA to put out the Lion because I have enough Fender amps. I haven't purchased it yet because I still am pretty much an amp and pedal guy. I want to use the Lion with either a studio setup or an FRFR speaker. I think my THR would do it. Can you just plug it into a regular cabinet? I know I can use the effects return of one of my amps too.

My desktop setup for noodling is the Lion into the Source Audio Collider, which has a great spring along with loads of other options. Can’t ask for more.

Both amazing pedals. What I will say is i think the room control is more important than having reverb. Most pedalboards have a reverb somewhere anyway but that room control makes it sound so much more 'real'

@@gearnighthang You should get right on that, because you offer no captions, no chapters, and you also refrain from narrating as to what pedal the test player is currently playing. This all being the case, your viewers have to watch every single millisecond and pay very close attention to which pedal you're switching to, and/or try to pay very close attention to which LED's are on at that moment. On top of that, finishing with non-descriptive statements such as "That was awesome!" when the viewer doesn't have any indication as to what THAT actually was means you're now wasting the viewers time. Please, take no offense, we enjoy the concept, but captions, chapters, and descriptive narration will help tremendously.

The Lion has more girth, but I think there is a simple reason. It looks like you are using the speaker cabinet functions on these pedals. You can toggle that off on both pedals. Otherwise, you are comparing a 4x12 cab sound to a 1x12 sound and really,... there is no comparison. Toggle the cabs off and run both into a mixer with some secondary EQ adjustments and I bet the results will be a little different.(Honestly, I have both and I love both, but I prefer the Lion. I also have the Ruby and it's a monster, too!)
