Very lucky I know. The Harley was my dream bike which I was lucky to get and make into what I want and I thought the Road Glide would be the next but the Triumph is just amazing. Thanks very much.
Nice one mate - I will of course be loyal to my Road Glide haha. It does look like an epic bike though and as you say it's gotta put a smile on ya face and make you excited to ride it. Great vlog and look forward to more - cheers from NZ - mate you have gone global - keep smashing out the content!.
Thank you for not being yet another dude that pledges allegiance to Harley. I test rode a Rocket III once and it’s an outstanding motorcycle in comparison to an HD.
Dont' get me wrong I love my Harley as it's old and loud and shaky. I'm not a person who will buy a Harley based on the fact it's a Harley and fall of the badge, lifestyle, media crap. The Rocket is just a better bike and actually a LOT better. Thanks very much for watching and the comment.
It just pisses me off how a dealer would change the exhaust on a new bike. To assume that a buyer would want it changed anyway. Plus the added price is inflated to add more profit margin.
I'm still angry about it. I know I shouldn't be but it really takes the piss !!!!!!! If anything it's made me have a negative view of that dealer. The exact opposite of what they are intending. Dicks. Cheers buddy, Glad somebody agrees.
I've missed your past few videos, need to catch up. I've never ridden a rocket, a couple of my mates have got new ones and they love them. It is a lot of bike for a lot of money. I wish you good luck and good times on the Triumph, looking forward to seeing your videos with it.
Absolutely buzzing for you Scott. That feeling is why I can't wait to join the fraternity of bikers. It's making me feel great just thinking about all the adventures to be had. Top choice cant wait for collection day. Take care
I just did a test ride on a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 GT last night. I've owned 6 Harley baggers of different varieties over the years and NONE OF THEM TOUCH THE TRIUMPH...NONE! That Triumph is a freaking beast and is a marvel of engineering.
Congrats Scott! Eh, a REAL biker doesn't care what people ride, as long as they ride. Hate HD snobs. Yes, the Triumph Rocket looks great, and looks comfy. I'm really happy for ya! Now, take care of yourself so you can have many, many years on it.......and I'm sure your wife would agree. :) Keep the sticky side down.... Oh, fuuny note, happened the other week..My wife said to me that sometimes she thinks I'm cheating on her with my ride. (in jest of course, she's awesome). I replied "Nope, you've got it wrong. I'm cheating on my bike with YOU! Lol Cheers
🤣I'll go for what is the right bike for me. I think Triumph have done an unbelievable job here. Harley have raised their game with the 2024 bikes but I'm not buying a label or 'lifestyle' as they put it.
Result mate, the look and stance of the triumph is just wow! The fairing alone on the Harley was enough for me, didn't like it at all. Proper happy for you mate, you deserve it 🫡 Oh for the love of God don't take it up dirt paths that are designed for tractors 😂
🤣It's surprised me a little I must say. The majority of the comments have been in favour of the Triumph. I thought the Harley 'camp' would be a bit bigger.
Really pleased you've gone for the Triumph - it does look awesome. Like I said before, relative of mine was a Harley rider for years, he bought the Rocket when they first came out, 20 years later he still has it, rides it lots and wouldn't swap it for anything. When I bought my Harley, he laughed.... maybe I should have ridden one ? Looking forward to the videos - sure they will make us all smile
Man I'm so happy for you. When you talk about the Rocket 3 you have a genuine gleam in your eye, which means that is 100% the right bike. Can't wait to watch the road trip videos with you and the Triumph.
I’ve never had a QS before and couldn’t really see the need Especially on the rocket But I joined the owners Facebook forum and everyone was saying it’s the best thing you can do to the bike So I did and it is fantastic. Works so well with that engine so absolutely worth it Paul
Excellent choice. Both bikes look fantastic, but the Rocket definitely has that something extra. Looking forward to more videos. Not sure The Judean People’s Front are going to be too happy though
Bloody good job the Romans built those roads ! That is one thing they have done for us. Well and wine, medication, law and order etc. You see my point 🤣
Rocket a great choice, loved my 2020 3R which I had for 18mo and 9000 miles, nothing has torque like it 😎 and best handling 300kg bike on the planet. 🚀 and the build and finish are exceptional.
Having to add the stage two or three to make any bike perform as you would want, then maybe that's Not the bike you want. I'm just not a fan of changing the engineering to get what you think the bike should have had in the first place.
That's a massive fault of HD. So many people have said it and will continue to say it. Just make the bike the best it can be when it leaves the factory.
@@1guyaharleyandadrone657 I watched a comparison of Harley to Victory after making this comment. The two engines were disassembled out on a table. The Victory motor just outclassed the Harley in many ways, notably in power. The main reason I don't like Harley is their unwillingness to redesign the problem areas. Staying with the same designs that everyone else has abandoned, such as push rods.
@@gregorytubbs3444 This this a lot to do with the fact that they are so careful not to upset the 'old school' buyers ? The average age of a Harley owner must be getting on a bit and they dont seem to maybe appeal to the younger generation so can't upset the older one. Might be talking shit but there you go.
@@1guyaharleyandadrone657 Harley makes several engines and Victory had one for almost all their models. I think Harley should try and make a better design with the same sound, make it an option and see how it goes. We have the technology! Search for Victory vs. Harley from Arizona Victory. It's a five part vlog. If Harley made some changes I'd consider one.
@@1guyaharleyandadrone657 was intent on the street glide st til I test rode a rocket...I got a Harley Dyna lowrider s..which is a definite keeper though..😎
The relevance is on the pleasure we get from riding a specific bike. Every bike in deed is capable of serving mobility purposes. Even a scooter would do it perfectly and in a very economical way…So, why are we in the disposition to spend the large amounts of money for a big bike with so impressive characteristics like a big Harley or a Triumph Rocket III, if it wasn’t for the pleasure and joy that we get by riding and owning one?
Absolutely. As I said, my bike/s and there to do 1 job only ! That might sound shit but it's a fact. I dont need to ride around Scotland and Wales or wherever, it's for pleasure. Nice one. Thanks
I've got a feeling I wont. There just doesn't seem to be anybody who has a bad word for them. i think the worse comment of any reviewer that I watched, and I did watch a lot was that the gear indicator on the dash didnt change as fast as you change gear. Even he said that is the only fault I have and it's absolutely nothing.
If you don't look back you've got the wrong bike. As they say. I know 100% and will always look back and it now doesnt matter which bike I'm on it will still happen. Thanks
Defiantly. Looking forward to getting some miles on it and really seeing what it's like to live with. Brilliant I'm sure !. Thanks very much for watching.
And me to be fair. Not seen one with all of the luggage on. Only seen the larger screen in the packaging and not seen any of the light protectors on either. Cheers
The Rocket 3 is an amazing motorcycle, and the reasons you bought it make a ton of sense. Congratulations on your new ride, and cheers to many happy miles ahead!
Good choice Scott! You’re right (as is Captain Slow)… it has to give you the fizz. I moved to a Triumph last year (Tiger 900) after years of Yamaha. Loved those bikes, but Tigger just makes me grin every time I get on. Looking forward to your adventures. Do you change your channel name now?
No, I'm keeping the Harley and will still use it. I loved my Tiger, it just did everything so well. I spent 6 days solid round Scotland on it, got home, cleaned it and went back out on it. SO comfortable. Thanks
This is excellent news! I test rode the 3r a couple of years ago and loved it, ever since ive been contemplating part exchanging one of my six bikes for one but can not bare to part with any! ~just yet. Ive just got home from a 5 day touring trip around Scotland on my Multistrada Enduro WOW Scotland is absolutely stunning! Looking forward to watching your next adventures!!! 👍🏍🏍👍
Isn't it just. I'm defiantly taking the Rocket up there when I get chance. Done it on a Tiger and the Harley and just want to experience a few days up there on the Rocket. Go for it, you know you want it.
I think I should have guessed but still thought you would have opted for a Harley. Looking forward to seeing how the Rocket handles touring. 1 guy a Harley, a drone and a Rocket from now on.
For me. Neither. 2022 Road King Special stage 1. Basically a road glide without a fairing and Milwaukee 8 engine ( which is a huge difference ). Goes like a train. Main difference for me compared to the Triumph was comfort. The Road King Special has floor boards so I can shift my riding position about on a long ride. You can’t get floorboards on the Rocket. I’m very tall, so it was also easy to change the seat and bars to make me fit it perfectly. And I like the panniers. Totally agree about the big fairings on the Harley touring. Not my cup of tea either. The Rocket is a beast though. You can’t go wrong !! Well done chap.
Glad to see you have put so much some and though into your purchase. In my case, it would have down to the Triumph dealership, wrap up the Rocket, and that would have been it!!!
The right desision, made for the right reasons. You took a sensible position to evaluate what each bike means to you, and how you intend to use it. Only you can make that decision so all other opinions are of no value, including mine! I am looking forward to your further adventures regardless of the bike you use. You produce interesting content, and always make me laugh. Carry on as you were.
Nice one. That's really appreciated. I did put a lot of thought into it with the Harley and exactly what I said on the video, i want the bike to tell me it's right and feel right rather than having to think about it for that long.
That fizz mate YES! , do YOU, never justify yourself for your choice and ride safe mate , stay healthy , do what makes you happy , I've owned two triumphs and three Harley's , if T reproduced the Tbird or similar after owning the older 09 I'd be back on triumph , still find myself drooling over the Tbird LT. Just made better , simply a fact . Anyone unsubs they are sad and will be missing out on a bloody good Chanel and creator so it's they're loss. Keep up the great vids
Thanks very much buddy. They look such good build quality, my last Triumph never missed a beat and that got abused around Scotland. They are doing some amazing looking bikes. Somebody at Harley should take a look at them and say ' that's how you produce a retro looking bike'. I know mine looks a bit of a beast but the Speedmaster and the Bobber like mint.
I love mine but I'm beginning to realise that I maybe love mine because it's old and shaky and loud and NOT modern. It's not trying to be something it's not. The new one just felt so much more non descript. Thanks Andrew.
Good choice! I have a Harley Road King Special with a stage 4 131 engine and rocket 3R. Both awesome and have a permanent place in my garage. Have fun 🎉🙏👍
No way ! Well I must same what amazing taste you have in bikes ! I mean really amazing. I couldn't have chosen better myself. Road King and a Rocket, who would do that ? 🤣
@@1guyaharleyandadrone657 🤣🤣 Stresses me out deciding which one to ride - not really!! Both bikes are brill in their own way. You will have some great times and look forward to sharing them with you - ride free and happy 🙏😊
Its just a bit annoying that they are SO expensive compared with most other manufacturers, apart from Indian. The difference with what I have paid for a fully kitted out Rocket and what the Harley would be with the system I wanted is double what it cost me to buy my last Triumph Tiger !!!! How is that possible. Anyway cheers buddy.
Are you just pointing that out to me or is it meaning that you wouldn't want a Harley because you think gay guys are riding Harley's ? I've got a Harley, even if you are correct is there then anything wrong with riding a motorbike that gay men ride ? Gay men wear trousers, do you ? are you gay ? I'm really not sure if you are bordering on or actually being homophobic or you're saying get a Harley because loads of gay men ride them and everyone should ? If it's the first one then F**K OFF YOU HOMOPHOBIC TW*T if its the last one then great, gay guys have good taste in motorbikes and why wouldn't they.
@1guyaharleyandadrone657 Hi Scott , yeah baby up & running again now, new vid is up already, but back to the grind of the editing learning curve lol..Can't wait for new rides on your Rocket 3 bud, amazing bike
@@SwenglishSteve1967 Christ ! you might get deer, foxes, rabbits and wolves on the road but you just don't get cars or hills 🤣 Not exactly busy in your part of the world, no lane splitting required. Good that you're up and running matey.
@1guyaharleyandadrone657 Hahaha true, I really don't miss the traffic in England, It still gets crazy in towns, but is nothing like with you & other Vloggers I've seen from England, We do get Bears, Elk and Lynx also don't forget lol, & the occasional vole 🤣
@@1guyaharleyandadrone657 I wish my body knew that, my head still thinks im in my prime, but the aches and pains ... I'm 66 going on 20 lol. Enjoy your biking, all the best. 👍
Great choice !! i do not regret changing from my BMW S100XR for one minute. It does everything full stop, in STYLE with a BIG SMILE on your face ! Start adding 10 minutes to your journey times, as everyone wants to talk about it when you stop.
I would be interested in the make of taller screen you have purchased, as the one big downer i have is the bike offers very little weather protection, you stop feely "Cool" when you are soaked to the skin!! also - be careful of the zippers on the Triumph luggage i have replaced mine already. I purchased the tank bag, but spoils the look of the bike, so i am in search of a good tail tidy pouch etc, to sit on the sissy bar, also, the rear seat back support is adjustable, with the button under the back rest, just offers that little more support. PS great video on the Ride To The Wall
@@WeekendCarsandBikes Thanks very much, it was an AMAZING day and I'm looking forward to this years. The screen I've got in a Powerbronze. It looks good quality and all the guys at Triumph had recommended them. It's maybe a couple of inches taller than I like but there's got to be some kind of trade off between what it looks like and how it does it's job. It's got a light tint so looks decent. I've also got some light tint headlight protectors from the same place. I've also got the tank bag coming but it will only get used when I'm really short of space as I dont like the look of them either. I've noticed the adjustment on the seat rest and small thing but great idea. I'm waiting to see if it will be tall enough to put my current luggage system on the rear seat and attach it to the rest. The rest might to a bit small as the luggage is high. We'll see and these are all things to play with when I've got it. Thanks very much and go safe.
Great news I think once you ride a rocket it’s hard to get it out of your head they to me are absolutely amazing I can’t fault it well not after 1000 miles not much I know but I am sold on mine love it and I think you was sold on it in the test ride you could just see it in your face well done now for the extras ride safe take care
