I had to comment here and appreciate the sound test part of the video. Those flawless transitions between the sound of both headphones giving them both equal opportunities to play every type of sound and on top of that an excellent video that cuts along with the sound. Sooo glad you did this in-depth comparison. Owned the original 820NB and felt they weren't loud enough. 700NB has the better mic from what I heard. Music sounds a bit more full on the 820NB Plus w/ mids push up for better vocal detail, where as mids are a bit recessed on the 700NB. In my opinion, would come down to which audio profile is preferred per person. Thx for sharing!!

I like the sound quality of the 820s more, I think the timbre sounds more natural and it seems to have a wider soundstage but the 700s are also really nice with all those features and they look better. I can't decide which ones to get 😅
hi! i’m a little late but I was having trouble deciding between both of them and after watching your video I think the 700s are better for a cheaper model. I just got them today and I don’t regret it. Thank you so much for your help and you got another sub!
I have the w820Nb and the Plus. Both have crap build quality and +6dB at 2.8 KHz. Ordered the 700 now for 40 euro which seems to be more solid and flat. Only wireless though.

Tested them yesterday. They are amazing! I've never heard of Edifier, but I'm starting to realize it's a brand that is well recognized. I'm also thinking about purchasing the pc speakers to free up some desk space. Thanks again. Really appreciate the review. It was super helpful.
I found the 700's to be too bulky at the earcups and too heavy where they shift too much. The 820 plus is lighter and fit more secure, also the 820 plus has very nice sound. 700: 5.5/10 820 plus: 8.8/10 Amazon has been doing deals on the 820 plus for $55
the 700s sounds brighter and airier, that made them feel cheaper to me. Came here because I was wondering which one to buy, thank you so much for the video! One question though: I saw that the 820's have replaceable earpads but the 700's don't - at least, it's not even advertised on the brazilian website. Do you know if the earpads are similar in size and placed the same on both headsets? If so, I'll be able to buy the 700's headset and use the 820's earpads.
@@ArchAngelAzrael ele é incrivellll, o cancelamento de ruído faz quase um vácuo na cabeça, é ABSURDO de bom. O modo jogo dele da quase 0 de latência, só tive que trocar o 700 pelo 820 pq uso Linux pra trabalhar e o suporte pra adaptador bluetooth do Linux é um cocô. O 820 pode ser usado com ou sem cabo usb-c no computador, o 700 só reconhece o cabo pra carregar, então ele desliga :(
@@brunascauri Otimo, pois eu estou a procura de um novo fone de ouvido sem fio. Eu usava um Sennheiser RS180 (sem fio, 2.4GHz) há quase 15 anos, mas o fone morreu e não há conserto. Não compensa comprar um outro fone (usado) para o mesmo modelo, pois o custo total vai para mais de 1000 reais, pois o amor é muito caro de ser sustentado. Não vou usar no celular, vou usar no PC, onde assisto filmes, jogo um pouquinho e uso no trabalho. Microfone é irrelevante. Por isso, a qualidade do som e baixa latencia são importantes. E ser sem fio é essencial. Não tenho mais idade nem paciencia para ficar recuperando conector e arrumando um monte de fios embolados. Então, obrigado pelas informações. E sobre o Linux também, pois eu passo cada vez mais tempo no Linux (uso Arch).

W820NB sound disgusting. Like those fake surround filters with extremely raised highs. Ears immediately recognize it and get tired of it. For deaf-eared and major populace - they DO sound instantly punchier, I can get that, and just like a lot of smartphone speaker comparisons immediately jump to a louder one - I take it that this was the marketing goal of 820NBs - LDAC and "popular" sound. Though GOD HELP YOU if you enable LDAC... I have some experience with headphones and let me tell you - LDAC does NOTHING until at least 150$ish dollar mark. Even my old AKG 371BTs with their SBC were outperforming CABLE-connected SONY headphones, because of raw driver quality. Now those Edifier S3 with planar drivers - that's more suitable for LDAC. But that's 350g of full-sized cans on your head - not something I'd like on the road. And this is probably another strong point of 820nbs - they seem to be about 220g as opposed to 270g of WH700s. So they are definitely lighter on the head. However, since I prefer not to tune my shit, I'd rather go with what works out of the box. It's easier to raise the highs a bit than to tune down such ear-ripping filter of 820nbs. And, yeah, if voice filter is on out of the box for 820 and not for 700 - then it's another clear win, because 820 mic is unusable with filter, period. That said... I have a friend with 820NBs. I could call and hear him. But still - for myself I'd probably get WH700NB. I just prefer something over my ears during the +5C to +25C weather. And I prefer that something to not cost me an arm and a leg. K371BT served their time well, but that build quality issue finally presented itself...

I bought the 820 plus intending use for commute and home office. I liked the sound quality and it fitted comfortably on my head. While on the bus, I noticed that ANC was producing loud cracks instead of reducing noise. Very frustrating. And people at work complained they could not hear me well on Teams. Very frustrating again. I also disliked being forced to use ambience or ANC mode, the headphone does not allow 'normal' passive isolation, which is only available on the app. While on a silent environment, I wouldn't want to use ANC... I returned the headphone and now I am wondering if I should risk buying the 700.
Brother, you're the first creator I've seen to show the ANC difference by using mics which is so well-thought of🔥🔥 allowing people to judge themselves instead of going with just other's opinions.. Btw, can you just tell me is the higher bitrate audio quality noticeable when using ldac?? Also which one has more thumping bass?? Thanks for the video!!!

well, its better than the 820. the 830 are by now 5 years old, and as far as i remember, don't feature any ANC, as well as an older bluetooth codec. So my guess would be to try them out, and if you don't like them, send them back.
So which one is actually worth buying for gaming and to abstract from sound around You ? I noticed sound quality is better on W820NB PLUS. And ANC seems to be better on W820NB as well
