Nicco is their best chance of an upset. I think the Qld forwards will make his life tough. As far as favourites. It`s a nothing argument. On the day it`ll be the front row that will create the breaks. They are pretty even, but I reckon Qld just in front.
Brandy was a selector for Fitler and says Edwards has been the best fullback but didn't pick him once. Reece Robson was the biggest mistake Brandy and Fitler made in the last 2 years. They'd probably both still be coaching if they stuck with Api instead of screwing around with cook/Robson.
Nicho should just sit out Game 1 - try to get fit for the games that decide the series. As a Blues fan from birth, regardless of the decades I've spent north of the Tweed, I'm fatalistic - that Maroons jersey makes players 8-feet tall and bulletproof. The Blues will hopefully prove me wrong.
penrith broke nicho - rattled him, qld will just do the same. nsw need luai to be dominant half early and tell nicho to just run the footy and tackle, and as the game progresses nicho take more control
Yeah but the thing with coaching is, coaches rarely give players freedom. If a coach says let nicho call the shots, everyone has to fall in line. Doesn't matter if luai sees a try.. if he isn't given the ball, that's a missed opportunity.
Madge has finally done what needed to be done. Picked players on form and in position. Enough said. Its up to them to cement their reputations made at club level in those positions and prove that they can bring it to the Origin Stage. The coach doesn't need the added headache during origin week coming up with a game plan to suit players playing out of position. Neither does the player have to adjust to playing out of position in a week. Teddy was a major reason why we had so many fullbacks and wannabe fullbacks lining up out of place.
Yep, I picked about 70% of his team. NSW has always tried to put players out of position, at detriment to our scores. It's finally time for NSW to play how we always should.
Are you on drugs? Latrell is playing like a busted a hole, and Edwards is the better option, not by much, teddy isn't dropped completely, I'm sure he'll be ready to fill in if Edwards can't make game 2.
Brandy, Freddy and Joey have a 9/18 coaching record and have played a combined total of more than 60 origin games. The coaching record is the second best, only Gus has gone better.

This is going to be an authentic ORIGIN series. Madge is picking no nonsense guys who are going to play the full 80 and go directly through the front door. Go the Maroons! (But I tip my hat to Madge for "getting" Origin instead of mistakenly thinking that an Origin team is an all-start tean.)
Lomax will be the one who lays an egg and Mitchell will be picked for game 2. QLD have not won a series when Mitchell has featured. I know he can be a moron, but geez, not hard to see his value in a Blues jumper.
We're only running two true props, Haas and Leinu, the former being a small prop, I think this is because Mag wants a little more speed in the forwards, with Haas being able to do 150m plus easy he's a true prop that can keep up with the pace. JT is playing at 8 so a back rower moving into the front row. It's a fast forward pack.
I like the team, but I think we need some cover for our backs Injuries to one our backline and players playing in unfimilar has cost us few times the last few years
@@richardwhite2730 yea but all the back line don't get injured much, they're big body men that can come into tackles protecting them selves. There's players that are always picking up injuries, then there's others that don't, like Edwards, it's just player style some are better at avoiding the ouch zone.

Keary shouldn't be anywhere near in the conversation. And I would've had Talakai over Leniu since Leniu has been suspended for 75% of the year so far and has only had 1 stand out game. But only time will tell

Tedesco shud be given his last game. And Bradman best was a start for blues. Cobbo shud start instead of Taulagi..and David Fifita shud start as well as Ezra Mam combination with Walsh is needed.
I guess Michael Maguire still has raw memories of when he was sacked by Souths back in September 2017, and again by Wests Tigers in June 2022. No one was selected from those two teams.

NSW will lose this series again. Too much Penrith influence, they are great in club football, where they play for penalties and they can lay on every tackle and slow the opponents game to a crawl but it wont work in Origin against the very best. Dont be shocked if QLD go 3-0. Wait and see.
As a qlder, they made a mistake not including Fifita and Mam. Qld should never copy NSW. NSW always go for a defensive style team which suits their play. Qld play off the cuff and need to stick that way.
Blues are not loyal enough to their players who have given their best during the good and bad times. Blues showed no loyalty to Tedesco who gave his best every year. Nothing wrong with Dylan but playing grandfinals is nothing like Origin. QLD show loyalty at all times in key positions irrespective of whether they are in form or their teams not doing well. For me loyalty is what makes a team. Im a Blues and St George fan but to omit Tedesco is not a good call. No disrespect to Dylan but time will tell.
Queensland are heavy underdogs, no chance of winning. Luai and Nicho are super underrated, nothing like a cool guy with a boombox to get everyone hyped up for a big win(especially when you are an immortal level 5/8, probably better than Lockyer). NSW by 50. Sportsbet should give me 10-1 odds for QLD to win.
