Just wanted to pin a comment here because I feel like a lot of people are misunderstanding me. Regardless of the words I used, we need to specify some terms. According to Scott cawthon, all FNAF media is Canon to the series. The question comes into, which pieces of media are within the same continuity of the major timeline of the games. Also, I never said Scott decanonized security breach or something. He said the story wasn't what he intended, but it's too late to change it and they're course correcting since then. Security breach is still in the timeline obviously
I do think it's a bit odd to now come to Burntrap now being a hallucination if Security Breach isn't decanonized in some way, especially with the Tangle interacting with him. I feel like you either have to work with what actually happened in the game, or say what happened in the game is false. Which maybe you can with the series' dumb ways to do that. But to me that feels really bad to do to something we so vividly see. Even if it's away from Scott's original vision, we have what we have in the game, y'know?
If tales is in the same continuity as the games, how do you think the puppet mask ended up on the tangle(blob)? Because if say it was say a special delivery replication or a "crappy cosplay" it would have tear marks or am I completely off?
It's genuinely crazy how one single week can do so much to theories and the community as a whole haha - the general consensus SEEMS to have gone from "it's most likely none are in the game-timeline" to "yep TalesGames and Stitchline" within just a few days can't wait to have "Secret of the Mimic" possibly change EVERYTHING... again...
@@Celtic1020 Ummmm… if Tales wants to be vague with telling the SB story, and that Scott is course correcting the story with Ruin and beyond- AND, the fact he did 10-15 pages for each Frights stories, which includes TALES FROM THE PIZZAPLEX!!! I believe there’s no denying it now, so instead I just don’t argue about the debate anymore
I don't see why someone from Fazbear's couldn't have known about the sinkhole. I mean... they literally built the Pizzaplex above it, they would know it exists. So they just figured to make a racing track based on it to say "haha, the rumors about the sinkhole are silly"
It's also important to note in regards to Burntrap that he was also seen by Freddy, meaning he can't be an hallcuination. To me, Scott's course correction that happened in Ruin (which he specifically mentions) was basically implying that it was the Mimic's endo with like a Springtrap suit and fake corpse or something
@@Demonmask-whatareyoulookingat But... why? Why would it do that randomly? My overarchig point is moreso that Burntrap being an hallucination is an *unconfirmed* early version of the character, not how he ended up being implemented, meaning that originally view shouldn't be taken into account and therefore, Burntrap isn't an hallucination. Given that Scott then mentions how they course-corrected with Ruin, it's reasonable to assume now that Burntrap is supposed to be the Mimic, or that he just isn't real at all (not even as an hallucination, just not real)
I really love this podcasts. Specially because he’s such a great host and doesn’t judge people who may not know a lot of the franchise or can’t afford to buy the books or games. So glad I found his channel!
Fazbear Entertainment knows about the sinkhole because they sent workers down there to install the lights/elevators etc - the workers might be dead, but FazEnt /knows/ the sinkhole is there.
That does make sense. Someone had to put the endos/STAFF bots down there in the first place, and they had to put barriers around the Burntrap hole as well.
Scott didn't decannonize security breach, just clarified what he'd wanted from it, and how it ended up different. Additionally if the Tangle is a real physical being, and if the the Burntrap ending is possible (though not necessarily the canon ending), then I think Burntrap the physical entity exists/existed. Because otherwise the Tangle just grabbed at empty air. If the Burntrap ending isn't the canon ending it's possible that the Tangle got to it, or it was moved between security breach and ruin, though I concede there's no in game evidence of that
Scott said that Burntrap was never supposed to move and with Ruin he told us wich ending is canon. Burntraps bossfight and all that never happened and the tangle never took Williams body. The tangle is still very real because Cassie sees it in Ruin. The entire Ruin DLC and Help wanted 2 was a course correction and to show us what security breach was really about
@@hircenedaelen But thats what he meant with Ruin being a course correction. The Burntrap ending is NOT canon. The only canon thing from that is the Tangle and the burner room from fnaf 6
My youngest child calls my RyeToast YouTooz plushie "Toastie," and includes them in her "say goodnight to my stuffie friends" routine at bedtime. 😊 Just thought you might get a kick out of that information. 😊
The books and spinoffs are standalone pieces of media that contain clues to help solve the main timeline of events period. I really don’t understand why people want them to be canon so badly when that’s literally the way it’s been since world and the silver eyes trilogy.
I haven't played the games or read the books yet, but aren't the books and movies just a series of hints or at best game outlines for future games in the series? I think newer media has been hinting that Cassidy was most likely a boy and possibly Afton's son. I definitely plan on checking out the games and reading the books to form my own take on theories. Yet I'll do that after I find time to play Indigo Park and make content on that.
@@zenvariety9383 that’s what they’ve been since the beginning. Ofc they’re still standalone pieces of media like I said, the books are telling a story and so are the movies, but those stories aren’t the same as the main one, just similar, and in that similarity we find clues and information about the main timeline, there are SO many examples of this and, you’re right I believe Cassidy being a boy is one of them. I just find it frustrating that people are fighting over what piece of media is canon or not instead of actually trying to solve stuff.
@@Wizardjones69 "directly connected" doesn't necessarily mean that it's canonical to the main story, only that it's connected in some way. this could potentailly mean that they're canon, yes, but what's most likely is that it reinforces parallel/stand-in theory. "stories on the world of the newer games" doesn't come from the mouth of scott cawthon, but from the back of the book, a book that, y'know, wants you to buy it...
12:46 counterpoint: in ruin the place has loads of graffiti which would imply people have been down there post security breach, they could have easily stumbled into it since even in real life when people go around abandoned sites they often look for tunnels and such things so it would be better to acknowledge this and parody it in a game than for freddy’s to get questioned for their strange building ideas/ structures
I dont understand what the issue with "into the pit game is its own timeline" is? Wouldnt that make it easier for us to decipher shit if the book games are there own thing?
I don't really understand how Into the Pit Story or the Game Adaptation of it can be in the Fnaf Games Continuity. The Missing Children Incident or more accurately Dead Children Incident in the Story shows that six kids bodies were found and not stuffed into animatronics. But then Into the Pit Game implies with Technician's Manual that there were bodies inside of the animatronics who are now possessed. But also this Freddy's location doesn't look like Fnaf 1 building. None of this makes sense.
its a agony ball pit, not actual time travel + the bodies were found stuffed into the animatronics after the third article, thats why it closed on the first place its the mci from 1985 with the classic animatronics
I feel like VIP and The Storyteller cannot exist in the same timeline, they both show different ways the mimic one program could have entered the pizzaplex. And between the two options, it makes much more sense for VIP to be in the games continuity than all of tales from the pizzaplex.
VIP really doesnt show *how* it got in, just that it is in. (and arguably so does story teller, i mean, we arent given the origin of the ai/tiger head, just that it took that form inside the tree) i dont think those stories are necisairily mutually exclusive with eachother the only time we actually see a point of entry would be in the special delivery emails, depending on how you interpret them, the other times, fazbear just has the AI already
@@Sopsy_Hallow fair, i guess what I'm saying is i can't really see a logical timeline in which both stories happen, they feel pretty redundant and neither one of them makes sense if it happens after the other. (Assuming they take place at the same location that is)
There's currently 2 things that hold me off Stichline: 1. I still can't buy Andrew in the main continuity, if he was Golden Freddy (something he seems to be in the Frights universe) then Cassidy has to be CC's name, if he isn't then it means that he wasn't a part of the MCI since we have all 5 names, and it would be really weird for him to be the vengefull spirit and be a kill we never heard about. 2. The Puppet mask, of everything that was on the FNAF 6 fire the mask was the last thing I would belive to have survived, Molten Freddy and Scrap Baby would have their remenant burnt off but their bodies are of metal, I can see it; William could have survived due to Vengefull Spirit shenanigans refusing his death but the Puppet? What was left out of the MCI souls are put to rest leaving no reason for her to continue on living, and I'm sure the Puppet isn't made of metal, specially the mask. For TalesGames I need to wait for Secret of the Mimic, until then I'm open to using it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it.
@@mr_me0ws0me Honestly I think the crying child is Cassidy and the only soul that possesses Golden Freddy. Sure he fell into a coma in 1983, but he was probably recovering from the bite in 1985 when his father took him to Freddy's while dressed as Spring Bonnie and stuffed him into the Fredbear suit and spring locking him under the delusion that he was helping Cassidy. Yet I'll definitely have to check out the games and read the books though to better form a theory. Yet I think I heard that using a death coin in UCN turns Golden Freddy into Fredbear before the jumpscare. That might lead to a major hint that Cassidy's agony initially possessed Fredbear before Cassidy's soul was linked to said suit.
@@zenvariety9383 the thing that holds me back on DP's CassidyCC (the theory you are referencing here) is the hospital flatline sound in the end of FNAF 4 that heavily implies that CC died on a hospital

Talking about if whether or not FLAF is an in-universe game where you said that the Sink-hole level doesn't make sense I'd actually point towards the fact that in TFTP Fazbear is aware of the Sink-hole / FFPS because they actively sent a team to clear and renovate it to be used as a future attraction. So I do think it's possible for FLAF to be a in-universe game but if in the full release there's something that Fazbear should NOT know (i.e characters, karts or tracks) then it probably isn't but at the moment I think it's still very possible. We'll just have to wait and see.
The books have always been canon. Do they line up with the game's timeline? No, but the themes line up like Candy Cadet's stories. In fact, Candy Cadet is the best way to describe most of the books, 3 stories with themes and ideas about what the stories are. No one looks at Candy Cadet and says, "Those 5 cats don't exist, so we don't need to consider this at all", so the same way, take these stories and see what you can apply to the main story.
I saw tumblr post like yesterday or the day before about how the Into the Pit game would be like a parallel to Michael and William Afton with Oswald being Michael and the father after getting taken over by whatever the Spring Bonnie looking creature is gonna be called (Pit Bonnie maybe?). Especially since one of the ends has Oswald seemingly possess Foxy like how Michael has the Foxy mask. I think its a really cool idea that would be nice to hear someone talk about.
Perfect timing, now I got FFPP to listen to omw to the city! All jokes aside, great podcast, great host, so glad to be a listener to such a passionate podcast :)
can you do a whole podcast episode sometime of just questions? i love the discussions that certain questions bring up and wish they had more time to be either thoroughly discussed or theorized about, love this podcast its my fav out there
Things I think. 1. If they do make the books canon to the games they should do it in a way that won’t be controversial and make sense, like perhaps make the fazbear frights stories actual in universe stories in the games and stuff. 2. Maybe it’s kinda like spider-man into the spiderverse where they’re not in the same universe but are clearly connected in some way. 3. They should make a 2d animated series for adults/young adults and teens that combines lore from the games (including spin offs and fan games), books (silver eyes trilogy, fazbear frights, tales from the pizzaplex and interactive novels) and movies (including movies inspired by fnaf.
literallyyyyyy this is what im saying.... fazbear frights as in-universe goosebumps-esque stories released around the time of the VR game makes perfect sense i genuinely would not want it any other way. why do people want springtrap mpreg to be canon to the games so bad 😭 and yeah 2D animated series is the most big brain blast move i would actually kill and die for such a thing it has so much potential..... linear visual storytelling could be the thing to save fnaf i know it. i could honestly really see the steel wool-era games lending well to a serialized show of sorts i have a whole outline floating around in my brain. why Aren't they doing this tbh
@@evevolipersonally I think they should change a few of the fazbear frights stories or atleast rewrite them so their not as weird and hated as they are now, like instead of fazgoo stealing your identity make it more like the tmnt mutagen/ooze that mutates anyone who touches it, and puppet carver instead of jack make it about porter.
To me, Burntrap still kinda messes with the Fazbear Frights. Scott in that interview did not say that Burntrap would ever disappear, he specifically said that he was intended to be down there and that you can see him hidden between or behind some machinery, like an old decaying movie prop. To me this sounds so much more like he was supposed to be there and that he should've stayed there, just not move. Whether or not the fleshy bits of Burntrap were supposed to be there is up for debate.
YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE, IT WAS SAID THAT YOU’LL DESTROY THE BOOK DEBATE, NOT JOIN THEM. YOU WERE TO BRING BALANCE TO THE LORE, NOT LEAVE IT TO THE BOOKS!!! (Joking) All of that aside, I believe the ITP Game is rebooting Frights to fit within the Gameline; as for Tales… I don’t really care about the debate. I’m now a SEMI-Tales Games believer cuz of VIP & the 2nd Interview, but I want a Tales Reboot to be official. Why? Again, to end the toxic book debate. So overall, I don’t care about the Book debate anymore since people really want to shoehorn them with the ITP Game coexisting- To me, it’s a bit confusing. But I’m also tired of people say “books=\=canon” and I rather not debate Frights and Tales anymore. All of that said, I’m on neither side of the book debate. I just cherry pick things from Tales to fit in the Gameline. And I rather believe more in the games than the books, I go with what the games say. This was mind blowing to watch. Love the video 👍
The giant hammer comment just gives me ideas for a rubberhose style fanart, and if I find the time I will do it. Only thing is I don't use twitter so if I do it, I'll be emailing it to the podcast email because I'm not using twitter just to post a singular fanart
Honestly the Pizzaplex books are probably game ideas that are meant to be adapted into games. Escape the Pizzaplex book sounds like an outline for a sequel to Security Breach and Ruin.
well, in the novels, Gregory writes a novel about an "animatronic super-villain" fighting against a "tentacle monster". this is clearly inspired by his encounter with Burntrap and Tangle in the Burntrap Ending. thus, it might indeed be that he talked about a sinkhole under the Pizzaplex and peoples started go searching for it.
@@phoneguy4637 thanks for giving me evidence I'm very good at thinking and very bad at proving what I'm thinking of(especially since none of the books have started appearing where I live except for like... the recipe book.)
If we can take the Steam description for FLaF to consider it being an in-universe game, maybe we should consider Security Breach to potentially be an in-universe game as well. Look at the trailers Steel Wool has on their RU-vid channel, the commericals are very much presented like Fazbear Entertainment is promoting the actual game.
One thing mayor thing that i think you misunderstood od was that scott never said that burntrap would disappear he said that if we would look carefully through a crack in the wall we would see him behind some machines wich to me means that he is realy there great podcast as always rye love youre energie and theory’s
When Scott say that "course correction" was happening, do we think it's corrections towards his original story he had in mind? or corrections towards a different story than what SW made but also not his original idea. I hope that last part makes sense.
The biggest talesgames and stitchlinegames denier for the longest time finally believes in them. What is this timeline? I honestly don't know but I LOVE IT, it's so nice when most of the community ends up agreeing on something for once.
random notes for fun while i watch stitchline isn't really based on "this story has weird stuff so I don't think it's canon", it's more so based on how scott said only some of the frights stories would be connected, and the stingers are the only truly connected part of frights burntrap could still be real, still be afton's corpse, and have that work. there is that purple sludge stuff coming out of his body, and it does look more like it was attatched to the endo instead of being trapped in it. maybe mimic just had vanny fetch williams remains and stitch them back together. or the body and suit are just the goat luca pressure (what I believe), so basically as someone who thinks burntrap was real, i feel like the william body problem is somewhat explainable
I do not think that Tales of the Pizzaplex is supposed to be a course correction. I really think that all the books are just silly or terrifying stories that tell us things about the games. I also don’t think that Scott was necessarily suggesting that Burntrap was supposed to be a hallucination. He never said that, he just said that you’d be seeing him out of the corner of your eye. Which means he could’ve been real and physical. Golden Freddy is physical and can freaking teleport, so maybe he was supposed to do something like that. I don’t think assuming that Burntrap is supposed to be a hallucination is a good way to think of the lore.
I feel like you couldve looked a bit deeper into the details to see that basically none of the mini games line up with their respective stories. Especially with Fetch, that mini game just doesnt happen in the story. Hell, the game ITP is drastically different to that of the book. I don’t really see how you came to the conclusion that the general outlines of Frights are in the games, when the game depicts entirely new scenes that don’t exist in the books.
As an avid hater of the TalesGames theory, the only thing that is keeping me from being completely on board with it is the implications of Stitchline-games. Specifically Eleanor's existence in-universe. She's so lame as an antagonist, and the game timeline would suffer majorly if she actually was affecting the plot in a significant way imho
@@truegamer7760 I feel like she's really boring and dull as an antagonist. She has no motivations or driving factors for why she's doing what she does (not in the same way that William could possibly be). Everything she adds to the story is also needlessly complicated or distracts from the actual main antagonist. Overall, I think she's just annoying and very boring.
@@J_productionss Put its simply Eleanors motivation to hurt people is because its in her nature, she is a being of pure negativity. She embodies the consequences of both afton and his victims, their feud has only brought suffering.
A point of order for Burntrap: even if it wasn't intended what we got was canon, and in that ending he was eaten by Tangle who exists in Ruin so hes still out there somewhere. The books aren't canon and the twisting to really want these Goosebumps books to be important is off-putting at this point.
When it comes to the burlap thing, I came to a completely different option where If burntrap was supposed to still be there, this still implies burntrap even not moving it implies he’s still there thus never leaving in the first place.
I'm still not convinced that any of the Frights/Tales books are in continuity with the mainline games, heck I'm not even sure if I can even consider ITP in continuity with the rest of the games or if it's just starting its own separate Frights Gameverse. My problem with the game and with frights in general is that it tells a self contained story that seems unrelated to what's going on with the main game continuity. But then you have the interactive novels which in theory should be in continuity but if that's the case then ITP should be in continuity because of the book return to the pit. Because of this I'm starting to consider the idea that either that only some of the interactive novels are in continuity. I guess what I'm saying I need 100% undeniable evidence of the Tales/Frights books being canon, I'm talking Edwin Murray being name dropped and for him or anyone else to monologue his backstory word for word from the Tales books.
One thing I haven't seen a lot of people talk about is something Scott mentioned in the interview. In it, he talked about how he gives certain things in the files temporary names to remember them by, and that sometimes that accidentally leads to the audience taking that as the canon name. He used Glitchtrap as an example, citing that he intended to come up with a better name than Glitchtrap but the fandom found that placeholder in the files. I think this is pretty strong evidence for the "Princess Cassidy" theory. After all, the original file name was "Cassidy", which means that is the one name that was used to name and remember the Princess. And there is a precedent of Steel Wool accidentally leaving in files that the fanbase isn't supposed to see (at least not yet).
Here's a fun thought about the 42:45 question: If Fall Fest is the origin of the mimic and Sammy did die there - What if Sammy's spirit goes on to linger around the mimic? In fact, going along with the paper pals theory, for whatever reason that specific paper pal can teleport from its initial location to your office; so, some level of paranormal stuff is effecting it. If Sammy's spirit has ties to the mimic and was around in Fnaf2, then maybe that could be why we seemingly keep being shown connections between the mimic and the puppet. Fnaf has pretty consistently been about family and I think the dynamic between brother and sister here could be a fun what if. This isn't really a theory, but instead just a story idea that came to mind while I was watching the video.
That's kinda what I've been thinking since I sent that in - a lot of people thought the Puppet acting bizarrely might have been the impetus for William to experiment with possession/Remnant, so with the Puppet seemingly confirmed to be last, what if the Mimic was the bizarre one? It's also worth noting that in the original story the Mimic was abandoned by its creator because it was mimicking his dead son...
really hoping into the pit is just the fnaf world that scott wishes he made. not connected to the lore, because if its canon it might be the worst thing to ever happen to our sense of having any idea what is really going on. too many easter eggs that would have massive lore implications.
Regarding Burntrap, I think Scott _intended_ him to be a hallucination but Security Breach made his previous plan impossible, so Pressure was written basically solely to justify there being a random Spring Bonnie costume with a corpse lying around for the Mimic to crawl inside of, and Kelly's death in the epilogues was written to show us the Mimic can go into and out of a corpse without taking any flesh along for the ride.
I'd Say Consider Everything, and I Mean EVERY Detail Matters/Should Be Considered. It's Like Fnaf Theory SCIENCE, Or in RyeToast's words "Baking" Regardless of The Level of importance or Continuity, Even The Novels.
it just feels wrong to me that the books and into the pit are apart of the main continuity because Eleanor is supposed to the books version of Baby and there’s so many parallels in them. Though im more open to Tales being the the games continuity than Fazbear Frights
PNGtubing hell yea Also question! Do you ever plan on talking about/have you talked about Frights Fiction before? (Forgive me if you have before, I was curious if any of the way things slot together in that theory might make sense to you)
Fandom is so unfair sometimes. If the people involved aren't fans the project is a cashgrab. If they hire fans then it's because they don't know what they're doing.
At this point I really do believe that Fazbear's Frights takes place in the games universe. I'm just really confused on what stories are actually canon. Cause most of the stories just doesn't make sense to me. Like find player two or even that one story about Susie where her look and the way she was lured was changed. Also count the ways. How can funtime freddy still be a intact animatronic if his body was destroyed in sister location. So yeah I'm just really confused on that and really need help understanding. I also thought of this headcanon about Andrew that is like the reason most people in universe say the five missing childrens inncident instead of six is because Andrew was homeless so no one knew about him getting taken by Afton. Which is really depressing when I say it outloud.
I do think that into the pit and any other future megacat games are in timeline, but the number of sheer differences in into the pit mean I'm not prepared to accept other frights stories just yet until we see what changes happen.
SB was released in december 2021. TOTP came out in 2022. That's WAY too early to be any kind of course correction. you'd be already done with the first few stories by the time you'd realise "hey, I should probably course-correct" meaning that the TOTP as-is, are NOT in line with SB (and thus the games timeline). Sure, there CAN be course correction afterwards, but all of that WILL need to take into account the fact that TOTP are not in continuity themselves, but rather serve as a proxy at best and a parallel at worst. To that point, Scott never STATED which way he course corrected. And to me, what Into the Pit looks like, is a course correct AWAY from TalesGames, seeing as the story in those books differs from the story in the game. And yes, that matters. They CHOSE to make Oswald go to school and experience hallucinations. They chose to make the ballpit this "fabled room hidden from the rest of the restaurant" instead of in the main area. They chose to not have Oswald spend a full summer in the 1985 pizzeria BEFORE being introduced to what's really going on. "But that is a Fazbear Frights story" yes, and that is a book, which is non-continuous with the game. Until Scott outright tells us that the books are 100% continuous with the game timeline, I am not convinced. And no, Scott or some other third party saying that it is CANON to the game is not the same. Scott has always made it very clear that the exact verbage is important, so until continuity is mentioned I remain sceptical. And here's why I am. Edwin as a character weakens the idea of Henry in FNAF6 being the maker of the original animatronics and those animatronics then being the "prisons of my making" which in turn weakens him as an interesting character to be put exactly opposite of William. Because if Henry only designed those robots, and someone else built them, why aren't THEY up in arms against William's usage of the animatronics to mummify kids? Where were THEY all this time that William was free to do as he pleased? By the way, did they remove the rabbit's ability to teleport in-game? Haven't seen anyone talk about that one. Also to be clear, the spinoff games have had some level of importance to the lore snuck in as breadcrumbs (think the eleanor pod and the sisters from furies rage) but the *gameplay* is NOT canon/continuous to the games timeline, or really any timeline at all. To that point, Afton's antenna on the Midnight Motor is a breadcrumb that doesn't find its origin in gameplay. the PERFECT kind of breadcrumb to be leaving in a game like this.
If they add Sammy Emily to the timeline they'll make him the Freddy bully from FNAF 4. So if that's the case, as alluded to in the movie that Henry leaves Mike and Abby after Garret, the movie universe version of Charlie, gets kidnapped then that may check out. I haven't watched the FNAF movie, but I will check it out due to my interest in theories. So it's possible that Henry could have had 3 children in the games with Charlie being confirmed a victim, Sammy possibly the Freddy bully, and a third child that has not been introduced yet to the timeline.
Hmmmm, I really like the human forward content. PNG RU-vid streaming wouldn’t be my favorite, but what if the toast was just kinda dropped in videos in meme like formats? Jakeysorous (sp?) the Don’t Starve channel just started doing this. For example when he shakes his head no and says “uh-no”, a little funny character pops up in the middle of the screen and also shakes his head no. Not replacing the human but supplementing? Also for the design of the toast… I feel like there’s so many cool things you can put on toast!! Why not have egg eyes and a bacon frown. Or anything really… something more akin to Forky from Toy Story 4… a bit more hodge podge and DIY. I think a lot of creativity could be had there. Like there could be a nasty one with a beans on toast face.
I was also a book skeptic before the ITP game, and it just feels like Scott is trying to push us hard, like very hard, towards the books being in continuity. RIP.
