How does this not crush the dog's chest?

How does your seatbelt not crush you?

What a dishonest answer. I am not built like a dog nor am I seated like a dog. And if you really knew anything about seatbelts you would know that the damage done to humans by them is the reason for airbags. A dogs posture turns them into rockets. I have seen them crushed or flung from the belt like a slingshot rock. If you want to be taken seriously leave the arrogance behind and state the science of what you purport.

@@PKShader Yeah since I saw dog's products crash test, I don't trust these harnesses anymore. I mean even for the very few ones that don't break, the dog is so badly shaken that I would not be surprise to end up with a vegetable. Just in case it would interest you, here is a crash test with solutions : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VW4p93Pmk40.html It's not in english, but here are the timers of best positions : at 1.20 for cats and small dogs, and 2.10 for all sizes. They say that you should always place the crate perpendicularly from the road (so the impact is distributed on his side). Also the crate size should be comfortable, but not so big that it would allow weird position from the animal. I wish more dog owners get educated about that, hope that helps ! :)

@@Ocadya Thanks for that video. Whilst those two options definitely have the least overall movement/impact what if that section of the car gets crushed? Wouldn't a better option be securing it to the back seat perpendicular with load-certified straps?

@@AIversonI It depends a lot of the product. From what I've seen in crash test videos, even among the "certified" products, there is very few of them that actually protect the dog. Most just prevent damage to the surrondings, by stopping the animal from beeing a canonball to whatever is in front of him. To have a protection as efficient as a human seat belt, the product should be as tight to the seat as possible (not include a loose leash). In a crash situation, the longer is their leash, the more damage they will take. I still prefer the crate solutions like in the video because it use the car structure to restrain the movements and absorb the shock, but there may be some great product that mimic seat belt too. The last time I checked, it was quite expensive though.
