Rip slug - good for range (aim for legs) kills enemies easily up to t6 (2 shot) Type 8 - better close range (aim for legs) kills enemies easily up to t6 (2 shot) Flechette - better close range (aim anywhere) struggles to kill t5 and above (3 shot) Ap slug - good for range (aim anywhere) struggles to kill t5 and above (3 shot) Just remember this is my opinion based on my results

Thanks for this! I really like how you detailed it. I had some T5 kills with Flechette from close range aiming at the upper part of the body (2 shots).

@@ShadyFoxGG yes so that could very well happen if you hit the head or chest but I used the results from my testing and it gave me a 3 shot 92% of the time

@@ShadyFoxGG slug means one pellet and shot or "buckshot" are multiple pellets or balls of lead or steel or aluminium

Thanks for this! Recording videos is similar to what actors do. I mean everybody does it differently... some have a full script and just read it out loud (without facecam). What I do it that I have a couple of bullets and then the actual sentenses are freestyle to make it sound natural and not scripted. I start the recording and if something goes wrong or I don't like the wording I just repeat that part again until I'm okay with it. I realised that it depends on many things how many trys are needed such as mood, tiredness, etc. I was always aiming for high quality and set myself some expectations towards myself and I will never change that.

Cool list bro but i just wanted to tell you that shotgun shells are better shooting at legs like 9x19 dum dums, and slug shells like the RIP (the ones that fire one bullet) do more damage than a ax50 bullet but they have no penetration. I recommend you to use USAS-12 with type 8 or Rips and only shoot at legs, they kill in two shots if you hit them correctly. Im sorry for my bad english, thats all, have a great day.

It's true I know but forsome weird reason I always hated aiming at legs. Same goes for SMG and DumDum and that's why I wanted to find the best which works against armor. The best thing is that you can still land a headshot if you are aiming at the upper part of the body. Maybe it's just me but the legsweeper mindset doesn't fit well with my playstyle. Back in the beta days in beta 1 ap slugs used to have lvl 4 pen which was super op considering t4 armor was used the most and still is,it could just 1 shot to torso in t4,i remember wiping squad going naked with my bro we only had shotguns and 6 ap bullets loaded in it

Sorry folks for the previous version. I messed up something during the upload but this is the correct version. Almost 800 of you had to watch the version that wasn't trimmed and contained no graphics and such. My bad! Rip round are only good against the legs, they require 1brust into the legs to kill (Rip kills in 2 rounds not burst)

Based on what I see/hear from others the Type8 Buckshot seems to be the winner for legs. Although I haven't tried as I'm not a leg sweeper type of player. Why you think RIP is best?

Yea but rip ammo can 2 shot in general 274 damage is well over half ur hp even in the arms

AP ammo for chest and head & Type 8 buckshot is OP for legs, 2 taps is all you need.. and S12k is my fav shotty

I never use shotgun against armour. Always aim at the legs. 3 hits in leg with 12x70 red (usually equipped when in scav) could "kill" player. The best thing is after 2 hits we could troll broken leg player before killing it, since they can't run or quickly react/turning 😅

Gocha- the thing is that I don't like aiming at legs. There are many cases where that is not even possible like hiding enemies, peaking players, crouching etc. The Type 8 Red is indeed god against legs, most of the bullets are acutally. Maybe I should do another test to see who the tier list changes if I aim at the legs and update the title of this video to "best shotgun ammo against ARMOR".

Throughout the start of the video you ask why you would want to restrict your shotgun to one bullet. Buckshot fires a lot of low damage bullets in a spread, and they dont have much penetration. Slugs usually have more penetration, but they fire a single bullet. I prefer slugs because the highest tier one can one shot kill t3 body armor torso, and the RIP can two shot legs. Generally with a shotgun you dont want to shoot any protected parts of the player because shotgun shells have bad penetration.

How do you deal with players that are peaking/hiding and legs can not be targeted? There are many situations like that, especially on higher levels. I don’t really like aiming at legs, not just with shotguns, in general. With SMGs I rather play AP instead of Dum.

@@ShadyFoxGG well that’s one of the scenarios you want to avoid while using equipment like that, you’re either sneaky so you enemy doesn’t notice you or just rush to them… it’s all about play stile in games like this most of all

My favorite is AP, I love doing sniper kits and the AP gives a +10m range no fall off. I coupled this with the 870 shotgun, long barrel 10 round mag and use as a sniper shotty. lol!

Yesterday I tried modded S12K and .. well, I'll publish a video on it. I think that shotgun is HIGHLY underrated. Which shotgun works for you from a distance? It's a bit contradictory but I may give it a try at one point. Recently I found a long barrel DP-12 with 4x scope but thought it was just a fun build. Does it actually work?

Even ap shotgun slug is garbage if you shoot it from distance, remember guys RIP and ap slug is the best so far, if you shoot it from close range only

@@muhammadhidayat6899 I’m not satisfied with how shotguns work. From close range one good shot should knock an enemy to make it realistic. Can you imagine that you shoot somebody from 2-3 meters with a shotgun and the target is running as if nothing would have happened?

Thx! I knew some stats already but I never actually tried them in action as I did in this recording. I feel that having 10 ammo types is a bit overwhelming and it doesn't really make sense to me, especially because the better ones are also pretty cheap.

Slugs are not useless they are like midrange stuff and the rip for example does nice dmg to flesh. So you can leg meta kill enemies with it where a buckshot with several projectiles would already spread too far because of distance. But yeah probably not preferable in a very close quarter situation.

You just reminded me that I'm not an expert with shotguns. What I wanted to understand with this recording was if there is an ammo which I can use against people with armor (T4 mainly) and doesn't require me to aim precisely (no AP). This is how I got to the Flechette. I still use it and I know that everybody else uses the red type-8 legmeta but for me it doesn't work. I also hate DumDum for example.

I find the best shotgun to be the sk12 it’s cheap has 20 rounds and fires quickly you can spam these all you want and destroy everyone’s legs with the rip slugs btw the rip slug has no penetration

I'm thinking to do a guide on how to play USAS as that's one of the shotguns that allows you to destroy players regardless of their tier. I haven't tested yet but type 8 buckshot seems to be the best option with USAS. To properly test it I should do another test where I only aim at the legs.

Great! Now I must try it. Good that I found a crazy amount of flechette ammo. 🤣 I was alone as a PMC on port and wiped a Whole squad at the sewer extraction point with my MP5. I need an alternative for the dum dums. It's getting ridiculous how easy it is. For the previous video I can only say: it happens. Just move on. Nothing bad happened. 🤷🏼‍♂️✌🏻 And yes I would like to see some shotgun gameplay. 🤙🏼

DP-12 is a killing machine, but you can also try USAS or S12K. The reason why I love the Flechette ammo is becasue you can rush and aim at head/body and you still have a good chance. In close combats it's hard for enemies with ARs to hit you properly and that's why you have a chance against T4-T5 even if you are only wearing a T3. That's what I have been doign on Port: T3 armor/helmet, DP12. 40kish loadout (including shotgun) and could dress up properly. My storage is full of T4 and T5 atm.

I agree with some of your teirlist but type 8 is def one of the best or even the best beacuse it's only a 2 shot on the legs the flechette is too low lvl to pen Like t5 -t6 but it's only my opinion

My issue with that is that you need a clear target to aim at the legs and that's often not possible. I'm thinking of renaming the video to "best shotgun ammo vs Armor".

All the ammo in the game exist in reality and for range you need slugs. Slugs are design to cause damage to limbs. RIP slug is the best for that.

What I don't really understand is why we need so many types. Why not have 1 for limbs, 1 for armor, 1 AP (single shot) + 1 trash ammo nobody uses?

Flechette does random damage. I stopped running shotguns due to their range drop off. 10cm out of the effective range of your shotgun and you can take up to 7 shots to kill an unarmoured bot.

The distance is indeed something to factor in. However, in a close range you have the benefit of not having to scope, and also, the aim doesn't have to be very precise. Since milliseconds make a difference in AB the shotguns are pretty damn good. I recently made a S12K video (with Flechette). I need to add that I'm not a shotgun main or shot. Sometimes it's fun but I'm more into ARs and SMGs.

1.AP 2.GT 3.RIP 4.Type 8 I run these by success rates for myself. If I run into any of these I will use according to what I have. Flechette rounds, for me, seem to have bad range. Dual, kind of trash if both slugs don't hit Type 7, normal secondary ammo if I run out of my main. Also because it's common Type? (The green one), the chance to break seems promising but every time I use it I die Grizzly, better slugs as in the GT

@@ShadyFoxGG these are the ammo types I've had the most success with in raids. The GT round and RIP rounds do significant damage to exposed areas. GT (100+) and RIP (200+), your chance of dealing a broken limb is high and a guaranteed kill if you hit them again. If it's a head shot or exposed chest it's an guaranteed kill. Your slugs have an effective range of about 25m which means you don't need to compensate elevation and damage dropoff. Type 8 is effective for about 10m so any enemy farther out you'll have to aim significantly higher. Also I rated GT higher than RIP due to my success with them over RIP

@@ShadyFoxGG also, if you can create a custom lobby, I believer you can have yourself and some viewers to test out they types with armour, distances and everything to get more data. The range is good, but I think if it shows the damage on another players screen it would be more convincing for yourself and others. I've noticed that after being hit once in the exposed area most players will panic and seek cover unless they have already previously popped a painkiller at which the chance for retreat is lower but not zero.

That's a good topic but I'll have to narrow it down to a specific gun type such are AR or SMG and even within that do something like a TOP5 as there are too many weapons. Let me think if the details, I have put it on my todo list.

I rarely used shotguns before DP-12 got added and even now I rarely pick it up, therefore indeed there was a gap in shotgun ammo knowledge. Even now I don’t really mind which is best for leg, I wanted to test against armor. Thx for watching. 🤜🤛

You must be right as generally speaking I hate shotguns. Even when DP12 has been introduced and I did an early recording I stated in the video that I'm not a shotgun user. On the other hand for some weird reason I like DP12 (maybe due to Armory rush) and all I wanted was to test ammo vs armor. I don't want to aim at legs and also distance is not a huge factor for me as I just ocasionally play it.. but for those games when I do I wanted to check which ammo works best (for me).
