@@UTTDOfficerChosenOne u could just look his story up urself but the short version since theres little differences based on the series but the common factor to them all is that hes an orphan who grew up on the streets and a group of kids would target him because of his twin tails and intentionally try to hurt him both physically and emotionally but when he sees sonic zoom by he gives chase to find sonic's plane and fix it up, afterwards sonic finds tails finishing a repainting of the plane and they hit it off to become friends and start adventuring together
@@roll1ncorefreven in the archie comics sonic says that he raised tails, yes it’s non canon, but in the one series where tails knows his folk they didn’t even raise him
Fun fact: Knuckles was INTENDED to be Jamaican but they changed him to being Aztec/Mayan instead, they figured "nah, Jamaicans are too chill to be warrior kind" also Shadow is white, not just white he's the quiet white kid, the worst kind!
Yet at the end of the day all Sonic characters are Japanese due to them being created in Japan plus was original meant to be intended should never count as a factor cause that would mean you would have to consider all other original intentions/concepts that were originally planned before being scrapped or altered.
@@gabrieltejada1697 So if i depict an asain family character in a novel, they are all auto black bc im black? Or are they all auto white bc i wrote them in america???
Sonic is an Oreo, Knuckles got some jazz/conscious rap or chillhop theme music in Sonic Adventure 2, & Shadow is like Michael Jordan or Uncle Ruckus w/the colorism
@@ShadowGaming101YT Oh my goodness, you hurt my feelings so much. I can't believe you would call me a nerd, I'm going to go cry now, I hope you're happy.
Jaleel also made it very clear that he didn't want the color of his skin to affect his performance as Sonic. He just wanted Sonic to be Sonic, to just be a good cool guy.
Rouge is probably a Latina, based on her skin color as well as the fact she’s based on a Honduran White Bat. (Edit: to quote someone else, “Knuckles has an identity crisis. He LOOKS Jamaican, he SOUNDS American, his lineage is apparently Mayan, but Echidnas are Australian.” So we can’t really say for sure what Knuckles is.)
I think they made knuckles black coded, his og name was somewhere along the lines of “Dreds” (Dreads) and his shoes were originally suppose to have the Jamaican flag or Rasta flag colors (don’t remember which)
I like to think that knuckles is afro-latino (Jamaican and Mesoamerican indigeneous since it matches up with the inspirations for his character design and his culture)
@@heregoesfranklin5962 The Egyptian comes mainly from SA2. Eggman's base is set up within the ruins and pyramids of an Egyptian inspired civilization that prominently features echidnas in their artwork and statues. Given its implied to be close to Angel Island since that's where Knuckles chased Rouge down to after she stole the Master Emerald and Angel Island in the Adventure continuity is shown to always land in the same place where it was when it was part of the landmass, I assumed it was either part of the Knuckles tribe or a neighboring Echidna tribe.
Sonic also has implied egyptian roots with the old cartoon showing his ancestors in pharoh- like attire and being able to read arabic in sonic in the secret rings. I personally headcanon him as also being japanese and from the irl christmas island
@@tytotech9498 Given he was designed to be an incredibly Westernized mascot from the start, I'd assume he'd be from a Western country like the Americas or somewhere in the Australasia region like Australia or New Zealand.
I would argue Knuckles is both Black and Native Mesoamerican due to the influence of Mayan mythology and architecture on the Echidna Tribe in Adventure 1
