Personally I think the best ones to get the remake treatment should be Sonic Adventure 1, & 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic 06. I understand we have P-06 as the "remake" but in reality that fan project is only fixing the issues that was in the original game while keeping the strcuture of the original. I would LOVE to see an acutal remake of Sonic 06 where they change the graphic design, improve the character design and level design to have that Frontiers style to it and then rework the story where it ACTUALLY feels like a Sonic Adventure style game.
I agree, but we should also get a remake of Unleashed which fixes the Werehog levels and the Sonic Rush Trilogy. I think they should also make a 3D sonic origin story with frontiers/adventure gameplay that borrows some inspiration from the Archie Comics.
Honestly, with the love Sega shows to fan creations, especially from Mania - my dream scenario is they see Project 06 and bring that to console. Would never happen, but I actually like Sonic 06, so I can dream
This might be strange but I would like a Sonic racing collection cosisting of Sonic R, the Sonic Riders games (with maybe Free Riders too but with better controls), Sonic Rivals games and the first 2 Sonic and all stars racing games (Team Sonic racing is already on modern consoles). They could add new things like new tracks or characters (I want Red from Angry Birds in Racing Transformed so bad and a Yakuza rep would be awesome). This is something that's unlikely but I would love it.
The Storybook games, remade from the ground up using either the traditional Hedgehog Engine formula or as a full blown Ys-style action RPG would be pretty much the perfect way to turn it into a highly profitable spin-off series ala Paper Mario. Just lock anyone who suggests any kind of motion controls (outside of maybe some kind of gyroscopic aim of they have any sort of free-aiming mechanics, I guess) in a box, then put the box on a rocket, send the rocket to moon, then blow up the moon.

@@mrpro538 I played Heros on PC with mods a few years ago, there's an amazing graphics mod for it that makes it look insane, also a fix for slippery movement.
Sonic Unleashed became my favourite Sonic game despite me playing it on a horrendously slow and laggy ps3 emulator, so I can only imagine actually playing a remaster, or even a port of it on PC
Honestly, is it bad I wouldn’t be against a rise of lyric PC port if only for the fact out love to see what the Modding community would do with that game? Imagine getting rise of lyric with adventure, style physics mods

These two games need to be remastered they were so good but they need to go HD sonic 06 like better graphics and bugs and Shadow the hedgehog. It was amazing the story telling multiple endings the challenge is amazing.
If I could pick games for the three selected things I would really want: Remakes: Secret Rings (with the party game side mode along with completely reworked controls and levels.), Shadow the Hedgehog (this game uses the same engine as Heroes and I believe that a reworked version of this game with either better mission objectives or a better way of tackling the story could really help this game, oh and also just fix the localization and make it more like the Japanese version so stuff like the game saying that they must praise the genocidal Gerald at the end of the game instead of Shadow.), Heroes (That is the only way we are getting it on modern platforms cause EA doesn’t let others use their stuff.), Sonic R (with more racers, tracks, maybe rework the controls to make you feel like your not driving a Car for every character, and just more of that wonderful music.) and both Adventure Games (they could really use some help fixing the jank they have, along with improving all of the characters controls.) Remasters: Generations (they need to completely rework Classic Sonic, it feels really jarring going from 1 and CD’s really nice feeling controls to whatever it is in Generations, plus he could have the Insta Shield, Super Peel Out, and Drop Dash added.), Unleashed (rework the requirements for levels and a few other minor adjustments, idk I never played Unleashed.), Sonic the Fighters (After playing through this game idk if I would want a remaster that adds, Metal Sonic, Honey, Eggman, and Rocket Metal as permanent additions to the roster/ finish cut content along with some visual improvements like Panzer Dragoon, or they completely rework the game with even more characters that weren’t cut from the game like Mighty, Ray, the Mecha Sonic’s, Vector, and all of the racers from Sonic R that aren’t in this game.) Ports/ Collections: Advance Trilogy + Pocket Adventure Collection (these are the first four Dimps Sonic games they all deserve the origins treatment. Alternatively they could get the same treatment that Sonic 1 and 2 got on 3DS and Switch, of enhanced ports with some additional game modes and new playable characters.), Lost World (the Wii U version with the DLC baked into the switch version, and the Nights DLC on all versions.) Project 06 (either they help the P06 team with finishing the game, then porting it to modern consoles, or they completely rework Sonic 06, either way after playing through all of Sonic’s story so far, this game could have been great, it was just a rushed mess.) That’s everything I can think of. If I didn’t mention a game that’s because either I don’t care for it or I forgot about it.
They could also add more content to Generations, I think that these 9 zones, and 6 bosses/ rivals could be added: Quartz Quadrant (CD) Spring Stadium (3D Blast) Ice Cap (Sonic 3) Knuckles (Sonic & Knuckles) Mecha Sonic (Sonic 3&K) [He could have like 4 cycles going from the Sonic 1 boss to who’s super form.] Windy Valley (SA1) Egg Fleet (Heroes) Prison Island [elements taken from White Jungle, Metal Harbor, and Prison Island] (SA2 + Shadow the Hedgehog) Gemeral (Sonic Advance 3) Egg Emperor (Heroes) Water Palace (Rush) Sand Oasis (Secret Rings) Eggman Land (Unleashed) Blaze (Rush) Eraser Djinn (Secret Rings) None of this is remotely likely for them to add, when they could just repackage the same game, I just think that adding more content to the abysmally short Generations would be pretty cool. Plus with more content added they could justify selling the game at full price, not like they wouldn’t already.
Just to make it clear on what I want I'll define what I want. A remaster in my opinion i a game based off the original code but can have slight modifications like being moved to a new engine to improve graphics or mechanics. A remake would entail making the game again fully from scratch, using nothing from the original except its name. Most of these games really don't need a change to their OSTs at all because it's the one thing Sonic excells at. Games that deserve a remaster Sonic Adventure 1&2: These games control well and actually hold up well in many areas. They do need some changes like the removal of some jank and adjustments to some characters like Amy, Big, and SA2 treasure hunting stages. Graphics need a massive overhaul in a new engine whether that be the Hedgehog Engine 2 or some other engine that Sega has used. My only major changes woould be a change to the Story that better utilizes a better translation of the Japanese script into english, much better voice acting, improved cutscenes and animation, and maybe a bit more added into the story. Sonic Unleashed: This game could actaully fall under both remake and remaster for me. The whole reason stems from the fact that I want both the HD and SD versions to be combined into one package. Take all the HD and SD stages and combine them into one game. I think the medal collection system should be changed to the SD version where medals you collect aere based off your performance in the stages, thus incentivising the player to master the stages and not explore them. Sonic Unleashed is not an adventure style game so this exploration hold over hurts the gameplay style of Unleashed. The game could also use a move to Hedgehog Engine 2 to make it easier to port to newer consoles and PC with improved graphics over the original. Game could also use some custom battle themes for each portion of the world so Chun Nan night would have a different battle theme than Apatos Night. Sonic Riders and Zero Gravity: These racign games are often forgotten about and could use a port with more modern graphics and some slight tweaks. First of all, both games need a proper tutorial in teaching the player how to actually play the game. These games were tainted by the launch of Free Riders, which is likely the culprit why we never saw another riders game again thanks it being a Kinect exclusive with terrible controls Sonic Advanced 1-3: These games could easily get a remaster in either keeping the graphics the same or in my opinion a full on hand drawn remaster of these games that uses the Uekawa art as a basis for the art style. Level design is also pretty great and the only modifications I'd make is the removal of a lot of death pits. These games are often too happy to punish the player for going fast so coveringt hese pits and making alternate slower routes is a better way to punish the player. Game could also be zoomed out a bit more because these games sometimes suffer from screen crunch. These games are really the only ones I'd say that could use a redone soundtrack in the form of rerecording the original pieces using real instruments. Include the original songs as well for those who prefer them too Sonic Rush and Adventure: Similar issues to Sonic Advanced 1-3 and I'd like similar changes except for the OST changes. Other than that these games are fun Games that deserve a remake Sonic 06 Sonic Heroes Sonic Rivals 1 and 2: Make them actually good games Sonic Storybook series: Both of these games really need a complete gameplay overhaul that would warrent remaking the entire game. Stories of these games are perfect so minimal changes to really none are needed. Sonic R Many of the game gear sonic games
To be fair, sa1 and 2 would need to be remade in order to address things like treasure hunting, mech shooting, fishing, and the jank controls. As it stands, only half of sa1, and just a 1/3rd of sa2 are remotely worth playing.
Sonic adventure 1,2 I think need a remaster and unleashed I think needs a port and heroes I think might need a remaster too and sonic 06 NEEDS a remake and lots more need ports
Rush would be easy. The games don't really rely much on both screens other than swapping the gameplay from one to the other. It doesn't really rely on the player usign both screens simultaneously
I mostly agree with what you think qualifies for remake/remaster/ports. However, I would personally add Shadow the Hedgehog to the list of something viable for a rerelease of some sort. And also, uncertain the likelyhood, but I would really like remasters of more portable games. Sonic Generations 3D, Lost World 3D, the GameGear titles, ect. These games are just inherently less accessible and I think deserve a shot on big screens.

What about sonic battle with the advance series it is set between advance 2 and advance 3. Gmerl is also based off of Emerl. There’s also knuckles chaotix which is stuck on the 32x and would absolutely benefit from a remake. Perhaps even in a bundle with a Sega Sonic remake and a port of Sonic the Fighters.
I mostly stuck with mainline games in this video, but all of these are good ideas. Sonic Battle would be cool to see bundled with an Advance trilogy, and I would love to see the less popular classic era games in some sorta of bundle sometime.

SA1 should have a remake, SA2 & Heroes deserve to live in the dumpster where they belongs though. Shadow the Peakhog (2005) should be ported or remade, since it's a genuinely good game.

If you ever get around to playing the Sonic Advance trilogy, be ready for some frustration. These games, while well received for their time, have aged somewhat poorly along with almost every game in the GBA library. Dimps, the development team, made an effort to make these more difficult than the Genesis series, especially that third one. They often resort to demanding and sometimes unfair challenges. The Special Stages are likely the biggest issue these three games suffer from. Might i also add that it's best to play these on the original Nintendo DS. I never had good experiences with GBA emulators.
._. I want a Sonic Boom remake. At the least the 3DS ones. Shattered Crystal could be so much better if it had the changes that Fire & Ice had and I personally think Fire & Ice just needs to look better
a Sonic R remake with tweaks to gameplay would go hard methinks, a bit of online play, steam workshop support so ppl can mod ezier could also go a long way to having the game stay alive thru the community idk. (delusional)
5:16 I’m not sure about that because with the current technology we have right now the models for the Sonic characters look lifeless and awkward and also very inconsistent due to the mouth being different for each characters I think instead they should upgrade the character models instead of using the current ones
if you have a 3ds, i would highly recommend modding it! it can natively run 3ds, ds, and gba games, making it the best option to play them, as its original official hardware
In Generations' case i would like a rerelease that gets further stages from the existing stuff added (and/or DLC). In exchange of never remaking old levels in newer games, it would give Generations more content (which it needs imo) and fans can always get fresh stuff. It would make fans happy while Sega can still bank nostalgia in a way that doesnt compromise new titles.
Sa1 and Sa2 needs remakes for them to actually be good instead of hot garbage Heroes is amazing and needs a remake to be even better Unleashed needs either a port or a remake because it’s the best sonic game And finally sonic generations should get a port

Sonic riders and zero gravity deserved a remaster! I used to play the crap out that game growing up on the PS2! Sega please remaster Sonic riders! Remastered unleaded is a no brainer! Do we even need a Sonic 06 Remake. The game already sucks, and we already know P-06 actually made the game playable, so why remake 06? Honestly, if we just have a remake on the Sonic Advance trilogy, it would probably make sense as the originals are hard to find.
The game i would like to see remastered the most would be Shadow The Hedgehog Mainly because it could have been a great game but so much of the game was implemented terribly, i recently played the game and personally i didn't think it was that bad but 1. Shadow was too slippery 2. The story was all over the place and I couldn't keep up with it 3. The guns weren't the worse but it still made no sense and was a stupid idea personally if they make the graphics and models better and fix those issues I think it would be a great game
One issue: generations and lost world and colors and unleashed all had different versions... And Making a port for each would confuse the living fuck out of users who own those versions... So... Making those as at least dlc levels would definitely help ... Because honestly? It's the same game, just with different levels. No joke... Only colors was dramatically different... Every other version was the same except for the levels. Same story and plot. 3:13
Not really, the physics, controls, mechanics were different between all of those versions. Except for story and plot, they were entirely different games.
