Special Walnut is the best medium tone brown stain. Little to no hints of red. To get the deepest fullest color make sure you water pop the grain to open the pores for best penetration.
My best guess they chose one of the middle ones. idk why but if you lay sample like this. they normally pick the bigger area. It’s a good way to “lead” (manipulate) customers to do a color you find easier. Natural always the biggest square, just a another option, 😉 then a couple other minuscule boxes of the pitch black colors they actually want.
many people in the comment section chose the lighter one though (aka the top 3 on the right), while the middle and biggest one is the least chosen (since it's too dark so it's harder to spot the dirt).
I was about to say the artist in me would say use all those stains across the floor you can even forget the tape and do a fade look o.o would be hella sick
Just wana say you went above and beyond for the customer, most contractors would have the customer go figure it out themselves but im sure they appreciated this for sure
As a stainer it is our job to give the customer what they want, but this would cause the job to take much longer having to dust, spray, let sit to get the coat to set just to sand all of the product off and then start the job again, also stain is not cheap so purchasing multiple kinds of different product would be much complicated and expensive
@@truedrew5276exactly what im saying, they absolutely did not have to lay out all these colors but did it anyways. I woulda just had them go to my shop and pick out some colors from the store.
@@-Duo itd be nice to have separate samples of wood with the stain already, my company for example only does samples on oak and pine, we cant account for every other kinda wood out there just the 2 most popular. As far as wood i didnt know it had a half life lol just sand em and redo it.
So if the customer went for a lighter shade, how did you remove the darker stains? Just wondering, because I always thought once it's stained it takes awhile to remove.
Top right hand corners. Those stains are closest to the actual color of the wood floor there. I like the second one from the right best - grain is "bright" and there is "warmth". The dark brown looks like old floors, especially the third from the left, which is crap. It says, "I couldn't afford walnut floors and maybe I'll fool you....."
