As a mariners fan I can tell you it’s definitely a coaching/philosopy thing, not talent. We could add a big name batter in the offseason and I guarantee you they’d forget to hit the second they got here
No luzardo for Yankees. Our 4 and 5 starters have been impeccable in Clarke Schmidt and Luis Gil. I just think that we are staying with not adding this. Plus Luzardo was not good early on. I think the Yanks are going to go to a six man rotation when Cole gets back because of everyones performance so far.
Brewers might have been harsh on Burnes, but honestly, the Brewers wanted to win in the playoffs, and Burnes didn't like most of the rest of their rotation. It's kind of like the problem the Yankees have with Rodon. I honestly believe he ain't gonna help he's gonna kill us if he gets his feeling hurt again after pitching like crap like last year. A huge contract on pitching is like offering a 30 year old running back a big contract. Pitchers aren't built like Mussina Pettite Schillings Pedro Johnson era.
As a Yankees fan, avoid any player from the A's,but Yusei Kikuchi of the Jays would be useful, and shouldn't cost alot, and the Yankees, and Jays have traded with each other before.A closer would be very good, and move Holmes to the 7th,8th inning guy. Another good hitter(s)(don't have to be a star player) would make this lineup even more dangerous like a Goldschmidt/Nolan A.,and Helmsey if I got his name right,in a blockbuster trade with the Cards.
0:04 'Never too early to talk trades' is basically this channel's entire motto really 😄 A few too many teams as buyers I think, might have been a bit too generous in that regard and definitely not buying all the talk about the Astros as possibly being sellers, so I think you're on point there. Just one of those teams that just refuses to go away, so I'm not gonna buy them selling until someone like Bregman is out the door; even with the rough start, I think they're still buyers at the end of the day. Also, hot take, but I think the Royals will be sellers. They haven't had the strongest schedule thus far, and they've been really riding a great start with their rotation, and I have a feeling, like the Pirates last year, they'll fall back down to earth the further we get into the season.
As a life-long Rockies fan, they will creep back to atrocious mediocrity. They may trade a veteran bullpen piece like last year. Maybe a Jake Cave trade if he does well moving forward for a team needing a platoon left-handed outfielder. This isn't a team ready to compete, regardless of what's the Mondorts believe.
Im not going to be delusional and say the Astros are for sure going to make the playoffs, but its still too early to write them off. They have finally began to click as a team now that their pitching is healthy. The only piece i can see them possibly move is Bregman (last year in contract) and Chas (the outfield is loaded). Julks and Bielak are just roster clearing trades essentially.
The Cubs need a catcher as well Danny Jansen would be perfect because the Cubs young catcher Miguel Amaya is struggling offensively and not to mention he does not hustle when he hits a ground ball into the infield at all
As a phillies fan , I saw somebody say we need to trade for Mason Miller but I can't do it. They will want our draft pick from last year in Miller plus Crawford and others. I can't make that trade because for one he throws 103 consistently which he would be breaking down and having TJS sooner rather then later. I would rather go for a veteran arm like Presley or Kenley Jansen. If the giants become sellers , I wonder what they would want for Doval.
people keep linking dodgers with getting an elite closer, when in my opinion they already got one of the best closers in Evan Phillips. He is so underrated.
As a Phillies fan, a healthy Mike trout would be a dream. However, you have to take his contract and injury history into account. Also, you would have to give up your farm for somebody that is made of glass.
Yanks gonna need a starter. Lots of these starters have bad second halfs beforeas Stro and Rodon was terrible like Nestor last year and we dont know Cole going to look like and he sucked last time in the postseason. Os game showed how the Yanks arent that great. When was the last time Cash made a big player mid season that helped?
