He does realise that the NFL is basically a 'super league' model as its a closed off league with no relegation and promotion?

But the NFL actually works and the closed league is perfect where it is a catastrophe for European Football...
@Chris-bm9xe

@@kimgoalie I guess that’s because you’re used to it. I’m sure if you had a pyramid system that allowed a small local club to potentially play the top NFL teams in a cup game or have the technical possibility of climbing the leagues to play against them you would pretty pissed about losing that.
@kimgoalie
@kimgoalie 3 года назад
@@Chris-bm9xe I agree with that, I don‘t want that because it is not possible here in Europe. The main reason why US Sports have a closed franchise league is because of the dependence of college sports. US Leagues are way more even and the Jags abd Jets could play in a Super Bowl in 2023, while Nantes, Alaves, Genoa or Stuttgart won‘t win their domestic league or go deep in the Champions League. Promotion and Relegation in the NFL makes no sense. A closed League in Europe makes no sense.

To answer the question though. Patriots, Cowboys, Giants, Bears, Saints, 49ers, Steelers, Chiefs, Raiders, Jaguars. Packers would never do it as they are fan owned, which is why you didnt see 50%+1 rule Dortmund and Bayern Munich join Cowboys would be the ones trying to start it. Giants, Bears, 49ers, Raiders are the big time markets and "Glamour". Saints, Jaguars fighting it out for the South, where everyone loves football. Chiefs, Patriots, and Steelers fill out as the pedigree, the history, the Mahomes 49ers would need to play 2 home games in LA, and 17th game in Vancouver for the massive Cascadia Market. Giants would play 2 home games in Toronto for the Ontario and Buffalo market Jags play 2 home games in Miami, 17th game in London Patriots and Cowboys play 17th game every season in Washington DC, call it the "American Bowl" Steelers and Giants play 17th game in Philadelphia

Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Bears are must-haves. You need a NY team so the Giants qualify. I think the Raiders and Broncos are classic teams with rich histories so they make the cut. That's 7. I'm thinking the 49ers since they've won 5 Superbowls plus they give you a west coast team. That leaves 2 remaining. The Chiefs have a great fanbase and were in Superbowl I. That leaves 1 more spot. I'm not sure who to pick. Seattle has a great fanbase and stadium. The Pats have won 6 Superbowls (tied with the Steelers). The Saints would give you New Orleans as a venue. The Rams have a great stadium (but very weak fanbase). The Dolphins are a classic team but also have a weak fanbase. Cleveland has a great fanbase but drab uniforms and not sure if they have the "juice". The Ravens are always a fun hard-hitting team but not sure they make the cut. I think I'd flip a coin between Seattle and the Saints.

them not realising that super league was ment to be what NFL or NBA is now just shows how devastating it would be for fotball. You would loss all clubs in few years and new players would have to come like in USA, from collages, player base would be smaller, quality of players qould be poor, game play would be wors, but owners would get 100 times ritcher. And TV networks would still air it and people would watch it.
@saucyisawesome
@saucyisawesome 3 года назад
@@countzero7 I don’t believe that. I believe the biggest reason why Europe didn’t want it is because mostly England. They know it would ruin EPL of which they are very proud of. Super league teams would make so much more money and be able to afford any players they can buy from any other leagues. That’s the main reason. It would ruin the EPL pyramid and EPL would lose a lot of revenue because people will no longer watch EPL they will now watch Super League

The Premier league clubs just went out. Here in Europe, sports doesn't work the smae way. I mean NFL, NBA, NHL, you have college sports, and drafts and all... Here you grow talent from a young age. And if a team looses enough, well they get demoted to a lower division. You cannot go Browns, and keep trying and failing hard fot a decade. Not a critic! I looooove the NFL, consider myself a big time Dallas Cowboys fan.

I think an actual awesome idea would be to keep the draft order/franchise structure, but make the XFL a lower tier league that promotes their champion to NFL, and then the worst team in the NFL is relegated. Eliminates the "tanking" issue, because if you are just straight awful, the only reward is relegation; and if you build your way up out of the lower tier, you get the first overall pick to boot.

@Scott McWhinnie Yes because they constantly make it so more money goes to ritch teams, even Champions league gives more money to old succes teams then new ones, its slowly going to point SL wonted to come imidiatly. Something like SL is inevitable in future of europe football because random fans watch more brand clubs when they play ugenst each other and they dont care how bad it would be for game, and it is already when ritch clubs just keep getting more and more peaces of cake. It all started with formation of PL and new formats of CL. They are just smarter and marinate others, SL tryed to microwave them instantly.

I agree with the other two dudes. Nobody cares about the Giants. Even in their heyday, they didn't really have a passionate fanbase. Most people in NYC are not originally from there, so they like other teams or don't watch football at all. Same with LA/California. So having the Pats for the Northeast is good, and Seahawks for West Coast is good.

The whole thing with the Super League was big either historically successful or currently successful clubs (and Tottenham). Therefore, it would be a crime to have an "NFL Super League" without the historically successful 49ers, Packers, Steelers, Patriots, and Cowboys. The Liverpool's and Manchester City's of NFL Super League would be the Chiefs and Buccaneers. That's 7/10 teams who are absolute locks. Probably throw in the Raiders, Bears, and maybe Giants as the last three teams but those are debatable.
