Glossy yes sits on top. I like the look of the matte tiles. Makes sense with condensation and never really thought of this. Pretty cool!!

I have glossy tiles and I have no problem with mold. After using shower I do wipe it down. I like the glossy tiles because it looks so clean. And if any tile gets wet weather it's matte or polish finish they will become slippery.
